I wanted somewhere that was reasonably priced, easy to get into, provided a good color and sprayed by hand vs a machine. I used to go to another place in Mundelein that was also a hair salon but getting an apt was always so difficult but they did offer a spray by hand. However, the last few times I tried to go I couldn't get it. So I tried another place where the woman would come to your house but I didn't like the tan (could barley see anything) and it was so pricey. The level III beds are the same beds they used when I started tanning in 2007, and most of them do not even work properly: buttons missing, facial lights not shutting off properly when you manually turn the switch to avoid burning, the tops come down further than they should, cracks in the beds, and bed 16 doesn't even have a fan on the bed - I honestly felt like I was in a death trap! I also can't even tell you how many times I've walked into tan at this location only to be told that their "system was down". Ugh. Don't even get me started on how dirty the fans and beds are at times. Christine is the vivacious and bubbly manager of both the Palatine AND the Libertyville locations, and she was brought in to kick ass and take names. Christine immediately went to work hiring the right people for the job- I don't know if they arrived in the box perfect or if she worked with them to help cultivate an ideal skill set for this role, but she done did it. My daughter had 2 days home between summer adventures so I figured it was worth trying Jasmine. She was booked when I reached out, but then the week of let me know she had a cancellation and could take her - whoo hoo! The entire process took 4.5 hours, which is long, but crazy enough less than the 5+ hours we usually spend doing this treatment. Jasmine herself was was super friendly and confident that my daughters hair would be better than ever with this treatment. I was hopeful, but skeptical. She got to work right away with a few assistants helping with the process. When I picked up my daughter I was shocked how straight and smooth her hair was after just running a blow dryer thru it for a few minutes. My daughter was thrilled, although she hoped it would be a little wavy after braids since she doesn't like it perfectly straight. She took off for camp the next day, but the only letter I've gotten in the mail is (no joke) "my hair is totally straight." And based on the camp pictures I've been amazed by how well it took to her hair. It looks a little wavy at the ends and I'm guessing she's likely sleeping in braids to get it to curl a bit. We usually have to do this treatment every 5 months. Jasmine thought every 6-12 months, but our roots grow in so curly that I'd be shocked if we could go that long. I'm also interested in trying Jasmine for the magic sleek, but she thought other treatments would be better for my blonde (highlighted) hair like the keratin express. It's tough to please a 13 year old when it comes to hair (and other things), but I think Jasmine did it!
