My wife and I got married Sept 8th, and about 3 weeks prior to our wedding we found enough in the budget to hire a videographer for our ceremony. My wife did some looking around and found Oren, and I can say that I wish we had him for the entire wedding evening. We met with Oren at his home office, and he displayed some of his works that we were impressed by. He is a true professional that has been in the business for years, so the combination of experience and knowledge shows in his work. Although he is only one person, he uses multiple camera's to capture different angles and creates the feeling of teams of people rather than one, which I found amazing. Even better was his rates. I feel, in hindsight, many people overprice their services because they can take advantage of newly engaged couples that think price is equal to quality. I can say that if you put a price on Orens service it would be out of "normal" peoples range. However, he offered a great rate for what we were looking for and we locked him up. On our wedding day he was there early and left late, capturing some of the other events that we didn't expect, and are now extremely thankful for. He was very professional in his demeanor, and I would hire him again in a second. I have yet to see the final DVD, and will update this again when I do, but if it is anything like the rest of his service I expect a flawless video that will bring tears to my wifes again. I checked out quite a few videographers for our wedding (Sept 2006), and Oren was the only one who really was a good stylistic fit for my taste. Our wedding video, which has a long and short version, turned out a timeless classic and we are very happy with the results. My husband Jeremy and I hired AwesomeShot Video for our wedding in September 2009. From the first interaction, Oren was professional and responsive. He clearly explained our options, benefits of each, and allowed us to make well-informed choices for our wedding videography plan. The excellent customer service wasn't even the best part! On our wedding day, Oren was punctual and polished. He was able to completely capture the event from pre-ceremony through dinner and dancing without being a distraction or obstructive. We were married at City Hall in San Francisco. Oren took beautiful shots inside and outside of the magnificent building and included the footage in the intro and ending montage. It was a sunny day in San Francisco and the building looks just amazing. Between the ceremony and reception, we chartered a double decker bus to take our guests across Golden Gate Bridge. Oren accompanied the guests and captured vignettes from our friends and families. We were so surprised when we watched the DVD and heard all of the stories and nice compliments! At the reception after about 3 hours of open bar, several people gave drunken toasts, and the footage is excellent. Oren passed a mic around to capture the stories and well wishes. The audio throughout the ceremony and reception is perfect. Oren used music from the playlist we created for our reception, which really added a nice element from the wedding. Be sure to send him a handful of songs you want included! The only complaint we have about the video is that we wish we would've given Oren more songs to overlay. The final product was expertly edited, entertaining, and the perfect memento from the wedding. We love our photos as well, but the video takes us right back to the wonderful experience of our wedding and celebration. As a wedding DJ and vendor I feel I know quality when I see it. I know that I am personally very proud of my review, especially here on Yelp where you can't edit what people say about you, and let me tell you that Oren lives up to his reputation. And I am not saying this due to a long vendor relationship, but, rather, because I saw Oren's talent first hand. Everything he was doing the day of the wedding was top notch and professional. I constantly saw him smiling, enjoying getting the right shot, but without being in the way or the center of attention, and, as a co-worker he was a delight to work with. All of this is great for a service, but what is often overlooked in service-based fields is that a videographer (much like your DJ, photographer, and florist) has to bring more to the table than just service, they must have TALENT! From our initial coffee shop meeting to the final tapes, we couldn't have asked for a better wedding videographer than Oren from Awesomeshot Studios. I researched a lot of Bay Area videographers. On one end of the spectrum, you've got those who want to post-process the crap out of your wedding into a cliched Hollywood movie (with the budget to match). On the other end, there are the amateurs who give you cookie-cutter results and don't even shoot in HD (someone honestly told me "Brides think it makes them look too cold"). Oren was perfect. He listened to what we wanted, gave us advice when we needed it, and had the technical expertise to make sure everything was perfectly captured (including separate audio feeds to capture the most important parts). And we didn't have to worry about anything on our wedding day - he was always there, ready to go. His prices were extremely reasonable and fair; you would be hard-pressed to find a better value, especially where we were married - up in wine country. The cinematography was exceptional, documenting our day while having a distinctly professional feel (including some great pans and establishing shots of the vineyard). Since I'm comfortable with Final Cut, we decided to forgo editing and do it on our own - but even so, Oren went above and beyond and still made us a great highlight reel! The best advice I can give is to check out Oren's portfolio of work on his website and see if it feels like the right fit for you. Wow! What an awesome shot! The name of Oren's company describes his work perfectly. I just got married on Aug. 2, 2008 and I was hesitant in hiring a videographer. I already had a photographer and I thought that would be sufficient, I was so wrong! My husband and I are glad we took our wedding planner's advice and hired Oren. We were extremely busy during the ceremony and reception that we missed so much of what was going on. I really recommend that anyone having a wedding also get a videographer. It really captures so much of the 'story' of the wedding in addition to the traditional still photographs. We thought that Oren did an excellent job with our wedding video. Everyone has been so incredibly impressed by the quality and thoughtfulness of his work, especially the 'highlights' video that he posted just the day after! (I can't believe he was able to turn it out so fast!) It was so fun to watch it the next day with my new husband. Oren made so much more than just a video, as it was a mini-movie production, with tasteful editing and selection of accompanying music. I heard from more than one person that our highlights video brought them to the verge of tears because they were so moved! When we met w/ Oren, we really liked his laid back and comfortable personality. I wish I had used him for my son's first birthday party but decided to go with a corporate video company because of a truly horrible experience with an independent videographer I found on Craigslist mainly because it was my daughters 3RD bday and did not want to spend too much money on a videographer. I was skeptical of going with an independent videographer because I was afraid that i would not get my video. At the time, I was going through hell with the Craigslist videographer who after 3 months failed to deliver my daughter's birthday video and did not respond to any of my inquiries both by email or phone. Since I already paid him in full, I was very worried that he would never give me the video. I decided at the time that I really needed to find myself a reliable and reputable videographer. After a thorough Internet search, I narrowed it down to two videographers, Oren and http://ThePros.com. Individual vs large corporation. Both had good reviews and the prices were the same. Because I was going through an ordeal with the Craigslist videographer,I decided to go with the corporation because i figured that I could always get a hold of a customer service rep and it would be easier to dispute if they failed to provide my video. When I emailed Oren to let him know the reason why I chose a corporate videography service, he understood and offered to help me get the my daughter's video. He called the Craigslist videographer and was able to get a hold of him and a week later, I received my daughter's video. He helped me out of the kindness of his heart and I really appreciate that. After our wedding, my wife and I both said we almost forgot we had a videographer, and I think that's really the best complements you can give. It amazes us of the shots he was able to do without being in our face at anytime like other videographers we have seen. Our photographers worked really well with Oren and never had to fight for that special shot. We got a long and short form, plus a summary and we liked all of them. When there are things that we didn't like, such as the music, specific scenes, or the overall length, Oren was able to quickly change/fix it for us. He works faster than we can review. Another thing I like about Oren is the cost and flexibility He provided extra lightings at no extra cost. He had a second video camera on a tripod for no extra charge. We had a few hours of down time between ceremony and banquet and he was very flexible about not charging us even though he was there the whole time. Oren is the best!!! We did not budget for a videographer when we started planning our wedding, but when we met Oren and saw his work we knew we had to have him!!! He's more than a Videographer in sooo many ways, you just have to go meet him and you will see! Not only is he an awesome and very creative person who listens to what you want and expect, but he turns all the boring average details into something magical and simply classic and beautiful! We had a great experience with Oren for our wedding in 2003. We found he listened well and put together a beautiful and classic video of our wedding that really captured what we wanted.
