Awoke is an incredibly well curated mix of vintage finds and new accessories/beauty. You can come in to find amazing vintage clothes, floss gloss nail polishes, several brands of sunglasses and a lot of really reasonable delicate jewelry pieces. For example, they have really reasonably priced rings and often have deals if you're buying more than one. Plus they have a rack and bin outside with some cheaper vintage finds that is always worth digging through to find the hidden gem! I have found a few great pieces for under 20 bucks. The staff is also always amazingly cheerful and friendly, and they have gift cards. They were closed briefly due to a fire, but I am so glad to see that they have opened back up! read more

What a charming vintage boutique! I was struck how cheap it was in comparsion to anything else "vintage" in Wiliamsburg. Dozens of blouses ($32) and dresses ($65) that are one of kind or at least distinct enough that you won't bump into someone wearing the exact same thing on the L train. One - of - a - kind. Since when are there consignment shops with employees this helpful and friendly. This is how it it's done! It's obvious the owner carefully chooses what items she puts on the floor. Every piece is special and the prices are really fair for the quality you're getting! Happy employees means there's a good owner behind them. Sasha there will start up a conversation with one gal and everybody wants to just jump in. I stumbled across this store with some friends on my way back from the Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene and I wasn't disappointed in the least! The store is small but has a great selection of vintage clothing and accessories. There are quite a few changing rooms which is also nice and the staff is very helpful. Prices are much higher than a place like Buffalo Exchange but you're getting better quality goods. For starters, they had these incredible sunglasses made by a 3D printer! How friggen awesome. They also have a great selection of funky socks with graphics on them. This store is eclectic and fun, albeit pricy for the average vintage shopper. I would recommend checking it out! Nice store and the multiple locations are great but their sale processes are not good. I bought a pair of earrings that I decided to return less than a week later and was denied a refund - unbeknownst to me - nor is it written anywhere near check-out - jewelry is final sale. I also wasn't given a receipt so couldn't even take something home that would inform me of this. Although they have very lovely things, the sales associates are scam artists. They layer clothes but don't put a price tag on everything. So when you get to register the Sales person just makes up any price they want. How can you put two items together but only put a price tag on one and expect customers to assume they're different prices when it's not clearly label! One of their jobs is to tag clothes. One can say it could've been a mistake. But if you look throughout the store it's a very common/consistent mistake. So this store is very shady. Save your money for other great vintage stores around NYC. There's a few lovely ones. That actually care about their customers instead of trying to deceive and steal from them. Awoke Vintage is a wonderful business, their owner and staff are always lovely. Their carefully selected pieces make walking in to the store appear like walking into a treasure chest. The first pieces I bought there on a visit to NYC (five years ago) remain some of my most treasured finds (which at the time they kindly shipped to Paris for me). Seeing such a cool business and wonderful people at the heart of this vibrant neighborhood made my choice to move to Williamsburg easy! I bought a pair of shorts for $55 and found a hole in the pocket. When I brought them back in the next day to see if the hole could be repaired (Sunday night around 5 PM,) and the tall thin brunette that was extremely rude to me. She gave me a bunch of different excuses as to why they couldnt fix the hole (first that the shorts were priced down because of the hole... they definitely were not, and then that they didnt know about the hole because its not their job to check in the pockets.) She was arguing with me instead of trying to work with me and should not be working in a customer service role. I shop here regularly and most of the people who work here are so kind and accommodating. I was shocked by how poorly I was treated. read more

I've gone in store to purchase and have also purchased off of their instagram account. They always make everything so seamless and easy. Buying vintage jeans can often be a very overwhelming and stressful process. The sizing is weird, there are too many options, you end up giving up before finding the perfect pair. I have about 50 (more like 7) pairs of vintage jeans from Awoke and every time I go in the girls in the store are helpful, supportive, and make sure to tell me how amazing I look in the jeans. It is a great find for me since there style is literally everything I love, leathery clothes, vintage 70s fashion, colorful and quirky, local and hand made. What is not to love! As the holidays were close, I returned to AV to purchase a few gifts for my wife. These people have a good quality vintage merchandise that had already got thumbs up in the past, so I paid another visit -my third- and I found three items I liked. The first odd thing I noticed is that the girl at the register allowed me pay and leave the store without giving me a receipt. I imagined she'd put it in the bag, but once out of the store I couldn't find it so I returned and asked for one. "We're out of paper to print it" was her excuse, as if she couldn't warn me and ask if I wanted an e-receipt, which I did. Back home, I prepared the gift, which of course means taking off the price tags -who gives a gift with the price tag still attached? Sadly, my wife liked only one of the three things I bought for her here, so an exchange visit followed. Surprise-surprise, these people do not accept returns anymore if the tags are detached from the garment -and I say "anymore" because my wife had already returned one of their sweaters before and it didn't have the price tag attached -for chrissake, who has the poor taste to give gifts with the price tag still on them?! In short, AW, you won't see me anymore in any of your stores. You've lost what was a happy customer. I understand you have your policies, but guess what: I also have policies of my own -first one: Don't give my money to stores with shady policies. If you don't like it, we're even. Adios. read more

I love this place so much. Absolutely beautiful store, amazing collection of perfect-condition clothing, and the sweetest women working there. I got my perfect party dress and a hilarious tee. The dress was around $60 which was definitely fair for the quality of the item, and the tee was $49 which felt overpriced. I paid up anyway because it was too good to pass up!
