Our client hired Axium Inspections for an inspection for a project that they intended to fix and flip. The inspector, in their report, states that "many shingles are deteriorated in areas" and mentioned that some caulking was needed and along with the alert that there were some nail pops in the shingles. A photo of a finger pointing at a roof was attached for the buyer's review, which didn't show the kind of damage that would typically warrant replacing a roof to my client. In their report, Axium recommends that the roof be further evaluated by a roofer. Our client never got on the roof and never had a roofer look at the roof; nor did the buyer send out an electrician, concrete specialist, carpenters, painters, fence guy, drywall guys, HVAC, etc. The buyer planned on full replacement of said items and assigned a value. The value assigned to the roof was nowhere near full replacement, based on the buyer's interpretation of the report. The attorney for Axium Inspections responded to our initial review to say, "You apparently ignored the information (to me, the agent) provided to you by Axium with respect to the roof. Axium does not bear any responsibility for your failure to follow it's clear recommendations. The assertion that you or your client suffered damages as a result of Axium is false". Now we are under contract with the exit buyer and their inspector has recommended a full replacement of the roof. After review with a few other roofing companies, no one will certify the roof for five years and everyone is saying the roof needs to be replaced, and that EVERY shingle has damage (my investor's inspection was 60 days ago, before hail season). Axium originally said " there was deterioration in areas" , remember. Even though Axium is not a professional roofing company, a more accurate representation could have been that the roof was more in need of replacement to position the buyer to consider the magnitude of what they were really dealing with. Axium's 'Inspector Manager' goes on to say that it is the agent's job (agents are not qualified inspectors or roofers either) to advise the buyer on what to do and that the buyer made the wrong decision by not having a professional roofing company go out to look at the roof for a more accurate assessment. Axium recommended replacement on other mechanical items in the report. My client's decision, based on their interpretation from Axium's report, may cost them almost half of their profits because they were not intending, nor did they negotiate, for a full roof replacement. The roof looks good from the ground level, mind you. Axium says that myself (agent) and my buyer should have made a better decision when negotiating inspection items based on another way of interpreting their report. Really? My buyer thought they were hiring a qualified inspector to provide an accurate description of the conditions and recommend replacement, where necessary; just like the current buyer's inspector is doing now. My client thought "repair" and "replacement" to have a significant variance, with respect to cost. The buyer thought they were paying a qualified home inspection company to tell them, in part, if the roof needed to be replaced. Now it sounds like Axium is saying it is their job is to recommend qualified contractors whenever they are unsure of something (my interpretation). All of our agents and their buyers will be made aware of our current client's misfortune, along with DORA and whoever else. Does a buyer pay inspectors to tell them to hire other qualified professionals to inspect, or do our clients hire them to make informed decisions regarding home repairs or replacement cost concerns that the buyer may be facing in the near future to preserve the home and to protect their families? The new roof is estimated at $13,000 for this house. How many people have that kind of money lying around? To clarify, my client hasn't take the loss yet. We'll report the accurate dollar amount of the roof REPLACEMENT cost to my client as soon as it is sustained. read more

Don't get me wrong, they might have a few good Inspectors but if you run into issues with Axium, don't expect them to hold themselves accountable, their problem solving skills are absolutely disastrous. I just can't recommend them and here's why: Last year we had the Inspector class with two Inspectors and about 20 students (incl. myself) at our Townhouse for a mock inspection. I switched out the kitchen outlets for GFCI outlets, as I knew they weren't compliant. Weeks later we had the HOA fix the chimney after I measured moisture levels and documented water damage inside. This wasn't caught by the older Inspector even though I asked specifically when he went on the roof. I suspected a leak causing water damage which eventually turned out to be true. This year we sold our house and the potential buyer ordered an inspection by Axium, which then turned into a long ordeal as that Inspector mentioned in his report that our electrical panel needed to be replaced. None of the other Inspectors mentioned a replacement, Dirk said it was an older panel but not one of high risk that needs to be replaced. We talked with the Real Estate Agents and Axium to find a resolution and gain some clarity. The buyer was under contract but cancelled after a couple weeks due to not getting any results. The second buyer, who offered the same amount, had found a home which left us with the 3rd option. We lost $10,000 and barely broke even over a panel that wasn't an issue. Over half a year ago Neil from Axium promised us to do right by us and offered for us to take a course for free. We had moved out of state so I asked him if it was possible to take a webinar or talk other options. He said he was taking notes and promised to get back to me in a day or two with answers. That never happened and after weeks of me trying to reach him he even had the audacity to finally tell the phone person to connect me only to send me straight to voicemail and after that not being available again. The one consistent thing about Neil is that he's always friendly but doesn't follow up and doesn't even keep the promise of calling back with answers. The highlight was when he called a couple weeks ago leaving me a voicemail saying that he wasn't quite sure how I fit in with the picture. I had someone leave him a note about a month prior for a call back as I still was looking forward to getting some answers. Well Neil, again, I was one of the co-owners you made some promises to. I called back and left a voicemail to give it one more try and haven't heard back since... I have been absolutely underwhelmed as a former homeowner and student and haven't recommended them ever since. I truly was under the impression that this isn't how Wade operates his company and would like for his staff to show up. read more

This was an inspection on new home construction. This was our eleventh home, including being the general contractor on our last home, a custom design. We monitored the progress of construction throughout, but were concerned in a number of areas of the quality due to the construction labor shortage in the Colorado area. We felt that it was important to have a knowledgeable set of eyes do a thorough inspection. It was also important to be able to meet on a weekend versus the work week. Jim from Axium arrived right on time. We got right to work and followed along with the inspection. We started with the roof as one of our concerns and Jim covered the entire roof in detail, Everything was documented with photos. As we have a 90 day period to provide the builder a followup punch list, this will help us provide the documentation we feel is necessary. All aspects of the home were covered in detail...roofing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, cosmetics, drainage, windows, Where applicable, like furnace, AC, etc, the manufacture dates were determined. Engineering measurements were taken on HVAC units and checks for gas leaks where applicable, like fireplaces, furnace & range and foundation moisture were taken. All data and photos were entered in real time into a computerized documentation system, which allowed for a through final inspection report. The report was available within a day and professionally done. The inspector, Jim, was knowledgeable in all areas and was able to answer all questions. The service was excellent, detailed and professional from scheduling through the final report. When we are ready to market our present home in the near future we will definitely have Axium do a pre marketing inspection. Three plus hours were spent on the inspection. We've had a few inspections in the past, but they were nowhere near the level of detail and attention that Axium provided. We feel that the dollar value provide by Axium is exceptional. read more

My first Yelp review also. Axium is awesome and I highly recommend them. Though this is our 3rd home purchase (last one being 20 years ago), I was VERY impressed with how far inspections have come and how Axium executed theirs. Jeff Krouse and Mike (in training) were very thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. They arrived promptly and the inspection took as long as predicted (1 hr/1,000 sf) and was competitively priced. It was nice that Axium encouraged the buyers to be present. Jeff & Mike wanted to know what our primary concerns were to start with and addressed those with a particular diligence. They were very patient and answered all of my questions; they even seemed glad of them and never talked down to me or my sons (my husband had to be out-of-town that day). I was very glad that Jeff offered to go over where all the shut-off valves were. At the end of the inspection, he summarized their main concerns with each system in the house with me, and I felt I could give my husband an accurate assessment on the phone later. We received the thorough, 110-page report within the 24 hours -- as promised -- complete with all the color photos and findings and recommendations in plain English. And none of it was a surprise. We were very pleased with Axium. The optional Home Binder they emailed afterward to remind us of maintenance schedules and notifications and recalls re appliances was a nice finishing touch. Jim Hardin was our certified master home inspector at a property in Bradburn. He was fantastic. Prompt, thorough, professional, efficient, and pleasant to work with! Jim provided a top notch verbal summary at the end of the inspection and took the time to answer questions in layman's terms--such great value added to be able to clarify questions on the spot before getting the full written inspection report. We used Axium to inspect three homes we wanted to buy. The first home's inspection revealed problems we didn't want to take on. The second home's inspection also revealed problems we didn't want to deal with. And, because we ordered the second inspection quickly after the first was completed, they did it for FREE. What a relief. The inspection on the third home was the one that showed us this will be our new home. The last home we bought was 37 years ago and it was new. We didn't have to concern ourselves with defects at that time. For this home of 37 years, we had the furnace and AC serviced every year. It never occurred to us that there are homeowners who don't. There are homeowners who don't have small issues fixed and then they become bigger and more expensive to correct. Axium reveals how well a home is cared for over time. I just had an inspection by Sean Bresloff today and he did an outstanding job. He was thorough and paid very close attention to detail. He spoke with me about everything he was doing in such a way that I could understand, but was not demeaning in any way. Since I had taken training on home inspection, he even quizzed me on certain things while we went through the inspection process. At the end, he performed a post-inspection review with myself and my wife to go over everything that he found. It was clear, concise and to the point while making sure that we understood everything. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the inspection I received from Sean through Axium. Additionally, I had a sewer scope and radon test that the company managed to get done in the same block of time as the home inspection. I wish I could remember the gentleman's name who performed those services because both my wife and I were very happy with that as well. While I don't find myself a very in your face religious person, I THANK THANK THANK the LORD for sending us to Axium Home Inspections. Sean Bresloff was our guy, and not only was he EARLY, thorough, friendly, and very well educated in his craft, he was really down to earth and gave the impression he was there for us. Really felt like we had someone on our side. We are purchasing a new build, and he didn't just take the fact that the house is new at face value. He found some very critical things that the builder even missed, and are now fixing for us before we move in. He stood out in the cold 30 minutes early. Did he just sit there in his car and wait until we got there? NOPE, he got right to work. Axium as a company is a rare find. They actually care about you. I had a great experience with replacing a sump pump. 3 years ago I went with AAA Plumbing and Heating and the sump pump that was replaced stopped working so I called AAA again - the rep from AAA told me the problem was it was the cheapest sump pump in the market, and when I reminded the AAA rep this, he was surprised and gave me a quote of $1057 for the better sump pump -- the sump pump only costs $164.00 the difference is the labor they wanted to charge us. Yup wasn't going to be screwed again by this company. This time we had 3 bids and Axium was the best. Not only was the price reasonable $300 - it included the better check valve. The one AAA installed, we were told by all 3 bidders that the check valve that was installed was the cheapest check valve in the market. Axium installed a higher quality check valve and didn't charge us extra for it. Plus the sump pump was so quiet unlike the one AAA had installed. We heard that sump pump from being upstairs. Lastly, Tim Moore was the installer and was so professional! and informative. It was nice to know that Tim also served our country! Overall, I would recommend Axium for this service. read more

Our home buying timeline is extremely tight but they were able to schedule the inspection right when we needed it. We contacted Axium inspections to do an inspection on a house we were under contract to buy. Sean Bresloff came to do the inspection and he was excellent. We are first time home buyers and very nervous because it is an older house but Sean was very thorough and patient with our million questions. He confirmed his certifications and credentials and then took about half an hour after his inspection to walk us through each and every point he included in his report, which was a huge help when we actually received the report. He also had to follow up on one point and he called us the very next morning to let us know what he found out. We were very pleased with our experience with Sean. We hired Axium to perform a new build final inspection, radon test, sewer scope, and infrared thermal imaging. From start to finish, their service and communication were excellent. Their online portal made it easy to access all reports and documentation in one place, which was incredibly convenient. We hired Axium to inspect a home we are buying in the front range and we are doing all this long distance. From Kelly and David in the front office, to Michael Morgan, our inspector, the service has been nothing short of phenomenal. Everyone has been flexible, friendly and completely customer service oriented. A pleasure to deal with.
