My group had a great time with Axxiom! It is easy to book rooms online and the check in process is quick, just with signing a waiver. There are two bathrooms in the lobby that are kept clean. The staff member explaining the room for us was friendly and knowledgeable. The game master helped us through with clues, without giving too much away. We were able to escape and would all be happy to return to this location in the future! read more

On our second visit we encountered pieces of the room that weren't operating properly. This was a huge disappointment. We asked for help and didn't receive it for over 5 mins. We will not go back to those location. One time, is understandable but multiple mishaps in two rooms is frustrating for the amount of money you spend to play. Fun family day. Super friendly staff! We ran into an issue with a stuck lock and they came in and helped out and gave us back the missing time due to the mishap. We already planned the next trip back. read more

This place is so fun! Hidden away in a strip mall in Newark, don't be deceived by the outside. We took a group of teenagers for a birthday get together . They had so much fun. They did the Countdown room, apparently the hardest room, and did pretty well. We got there early , our appointment time was 11:15, you should arrive 15 mins early to sign waivers and pay remaining balance if you made a deposit online. We got there as they were opening the doors and the staff were super friendly. We scanned QR code on our phone and that brought up the waiver, super easy! They took the kids and my husband back to the room and explained the room and rules. You can't take pics in the room, which is a little bit of a bummer since we were there to celebrate my son, but we complied. I didn't go in (husband was the "chaperone") and another slight disappointment was there was no where for me to view inside the room to watch my son and his friends try to solve the room. I've heard some escape rooms have this and was a little let down this one didn't but I did periodically, ask the employee how they were doing and she gave me updates on their progress. I hung out in the lobby and used the bathroom, both were very clean. All in all I would highly recommend this escape room and we are definitely going to go back and try another room! read more

I was lured into doing an Escape Room so I had no choice but to participate and become a team player for the birthday boy. He chose the theme and I booked it online easily on the same day. We arrived 15 minutes prior to our start time and signed a waiver. The staff member gave us a thorough but quick run down of the rules/guidelines. The room we were in was cool. I liked how it was transformed and detailed. Although there were some minor damages from over time from excessive players, it was still pretty maintained. I will have to admit, the first 15 minutes in I was clearly lost and clueless. The 11 year old in my group definitely outsmart the adults. With him being in the lead, helped us solved the riddles. With it all being our first time, the whole experience came out better than expected. It was fun! Although we didn't beat the time, it will only encourage us to come back. Just to give us something to accomplish and different attraction to do. Same goes for you too! read more

Hands down the best escape room I've ever been to. The amount of technology, craft, and thought put into the rooms here are amazing. You won't find any locks or codes here - that's boring stuff! Instead, you'll walk into a specifically themed room complete with hidden areas, trap doors, and lights/machinery making you feel like you're on the set of a glamorous movie rather than locked inside a small room in the middle of Delaware. A little background info: "Axxiom" actually used to be "Exodus" and existed in a little house across the parking lot from where they are right now. I went to Exodus on the last day they were open and escaped from one of their rooms. Their old rooms in Exodus are nothing compared to the new ones in Axxiom. The old rooms had simple locks and were "unglamorous". They were a lot of counting numbers and calculations. The new rooms in Axxiom are definitely a lot better. Axxiom is still fairly new and so they're still coming out with rooms. Right now they have about three with unique themes. They plan on coming out with a gypsy themed room and a haunted room by the end of this month. Be sure to call ahead for reservations as well as to ask which rooms they have available The specific room we had was sorcerer themed; we had to solve a combinations of potions to stop the "dark lord and his dragon". It wasn't hard immersing ourselves into the story because everything in this room was so beautifully created. From the detailed walls to the golden throne to the magical decor everything was perfect. The employee who introduced us into this room, Dennis, was super friendly and thorough with instructions. This is actually my second time with him because he also explained a previous room I went to back in Exodus. According to him, the sorcerer room has a 2.5/5 difficulty rating. One of the other rooms they have here, the Heist, is the most difficult room they have so far with a 4.5/5 rating. There are more escape rooms in Wilmington if you can't wait for more rooms to be revealed here! The Wilmington location is also under the same company (either called Exodus or Axxiom). read more

ESCAPETHEROOMers decided to try this location as their second stop in DE. They also have two other locations - Wilmington & Rehoboth Beach. We decided to try the "Pirates Cove". As soon as we arrived, there was plenty of parking right outside the facility. The lobby area was quite spacious and the decor was extremely vibrant (it reminded me of the Joker's hideout). The room design was cleverly constructed with a good mix of technological and traditional puzzles. The storyline was definitely entertaining and kept us engaged the whole time. Our game master was great and extremely helpful. With one of the puzzles we managed to bypass a step and take the easier route. It would be great if they could somehow prevent that from happening so that the player can get the full experience. Other than that, we both had a lot of fun and managed to escape with time to spare. I was stuck in a room for an hour with no way out and it was impossible to escape. It waa stressful my mom was yelling at me the whole time.

I had made reservations for 8:15 pm game with check in at 8:00pm. First the parking lot with the camper blocking front entrance and barely any lights on it's looks as if nothing is open back there. Uninviting suggest more lights in the lot and moving the camper so the door is visible. Once inside the game host was very nice the atmosphere is very original the interior could definitely use an update throughout the building. Once in the game room we did the faith of the North Pole. It was pretty fun although I was burning up it was soo hot in the room! There was a need for a basketball and it was a small styrofoam ball which had hair stuck to it and chunks missing out of it. I'm sure you can grab a new one at the $1.25 tree. It was gross! We managed to get out of the room with time to spare. We really did enjoy trying to escape and had some laughs. This location could just use an update but was fun and would recommend! The parking lot definitely needs more lights! read more

UPDATE: Some random woman called me at 9pm, said they were processing a refund and immediately hung up. Didn't address the issue. Literally a 45 second "conversation". This. Was. Awful. 1. A lock was already opened for us. I've done 25+ escape rooms and I'm pretty sure the point is to unlock the locks, no? Then -- without giving anything away in the Western themed room, the last mechanism was faulty. We had all of the right answers. The girl came in and showed us how it worked at the end and even she couldn't do it properly. This is the fourth escape room we've done with this company and since I can't really trust them to properly test their puzzles to make sure they actually work, I doubt we'll be back. No apology from the staff either -- "we'll work on it". Uhh, ok. The other clues weren't great either. The room was outdated and looked like someone threw together an escape room ten years ago and just let it go. Disappointing to say the least. The clues don't make sense. At one point the clue told us to do the opposite of what we were doing -- and the cluemaster had the audacity to argue with us and say that it never said that. Then again, in a very public conversation in the lobby, she said she was really working on her tan for her license photo. Cool. This experience lacked professionalism and was a complete waste of money. I felt gross when I left. Stay away from the outlaw room. Due to faulty mechanisms, it's 100% unsolvable. Even for the staff -- which made me laugh out loud when she couldn't even do it. read more

This was the first time for us as a family to do a escape room together. The staff was very helpful and walked us through some of the harder portions of the clues. The first half of the room moved pretty quickly when our kids worked with us. The second half was much more chaotic. The clues came in exactly when we needed them to keep us solving the zodiac case within the hour we were allotted. I would recommend spending the evening at the Axxion Rooms. If you are able to do 2 rooms, I would recommend this location. read more

I wish that I could give 0 stars. Did the Heist escape room and the computer would not allow us to complete the room. Also, my group received a wrong clue which really messed us up. Axxiom Escape Rooms was at fault, yet my group and I weren't able to continue working with more time. The owners refused to speak with us on the issue. We were given the option of having a 25% discount or just leaving. The discount wasn't compensation enough for the time and effort spent. read more

I went to this place back when it was Exodus a few years ago. It was my wife and I's first room, but we were hooked! We just returned with a friend to try the Carnival themed room and we were absolutely BLOWN AWAY. The room had amazing atmosphere, clever puzzles, and a few rewarding gimmicks. We were so impressed by this room that we immediately turned around and did another room! The second room was the sorcery themed room. The architecture of this room is absolutely incredible. It is like you walked into Hogwarts! I really cannot overstate how high the production values were here, but the gameplay was also a blast as well. My partner and I have done about 10 rooms each so far. We solved both of these- the GMs are pretty generous with hints, clearly favoring having fun and making some progress over watching people fail so they can make more money off of retries. Victories always feel earned, though, and most hints are used to smooth out confusions in instructions or clues, making the whole experience seem fair. These rooms were literally the best we have ever done- if you've never done one, start here, but be aware that you might never top the experience! read more

Not what I expected at all. Very boring poorly decorated "wanted" room. They told us it wasn't an escape room when we first went in that it was more like solving the puzzle? Kicker for me was while we had 5 mins left they came in saying congrats you did it!! While we were in the middle of trying to solve something.. uhm what? They just wanted to rush us out bc they started us late so they could get it ready for the next group. I was really excited for this and it was an awful experience. I have done 3 rooms here and can't wait to get back over to finish the rest. The Heist was my favorite one. It was my first escape room ever and rated 5/5 for difficulty, and they weren't kidding. Six of us undertook this "adventure room" where the objective was not to escape, rather break into the vault. All 3 rooms were designed well and $20 per person for the hour you get is reasonable for a night out. The rooms were all fun but had some difficult parts, and I am glad that every time they are able to explain each objective and the reasoning for it after hearing some horror stories of wasted money on expensive escape rooms that have no real reason for why certain things were done. This was a great find and it is a good price for a fun thing to do out with friends/family. read more

We did the Sourceror's Quest tonight for my niece's birthday. We were a group of 8 people between the ages of 4 and 32. The room was fun for the kids and adults. We solved the room with 3 minutes left. I believe that the difficulty level was just right for a mixed group of kids and adults. The host that helped us kind of just ignored us when the puzzle was complete. He didn't even ask us if we wanted to take a picture after we solved the room, even though he asked other groups that ended before we started. The clues that we received during the quest were all late, they popped up on the screen after we already solved the puzzles. read more

They have moved to a new location and completely revamped their offering. They have now gone from the worst to the best! One of the criteria I use for a good escape room is the number of combination locks used: the fewer, the better. Of the two rooms I have done here, one had NO combination locks and the other only 2 of about 18 puzzles were combination locks. It's also important to be able to work on more than one puzzle at a time so the whole group is engaged. Their "production value" has also vastly improved. Their puzzles are clever yet solvable. They give you hints if you get stuck, but you still feel a real sense of accomplishment. They are also still expanding, adding new rooms all the time. There may be secret rooms, remote reveals, and lots of surprises around every corner. So clever, so much fun! And their pricing is very reasonable. I've done escape rooms in King of Prussia, Philly (Franklin Institute), and Great Escape Delaware. This one has the best bang for the buck! Great job, guys! read more
