This place is so fun! Hidden away in a strip mall in Newark, don't be deceived by the outside. We took a group of teenagers for a birthday get together . They had so much fun. They did the Countdown room, apparently the hardest room, and did pretty well. We got there early , our appointment time was 11:15, you should arrive 15 mins early to sign waivers and pay remaining balance if you made a deposit online. We got there as they were opening the doors and the staff were super friendly. We scanned QR code on our phone and that brought up the waiver, super easy! They took the kids and my husband back to the room and explained the room and rules. You can't take pics in the room, which is a little bit of a bummer since we were there to celebrate my son, but we complied. I didn't go in (husband was the "chaperone") and another slight disappointment was there was no where for me to view inside the room to watch my son and his friends try to solve the room. I've heard some escape rooms have this and was a little let down this one didn't but I did periodically, ask the employee how they were doing and she gave me updates on their progress. I hung out in the lobby and used the bathroom, both were very clean. All in all I would highly recommend this escape room and we are definitely going to go back and try another room!

Hands down the best escape room I've ever been to. The amount of technology, craft, and thought put into the rooms here are amazing. You won't find any locks or codes here - that's boring stuff! Instead, you'll walk into a specifically themed room complete with hidden areas, trap doors, and lights/machinery making you feel like you're on the set of a glamorous movie rather than locked inside a small room in the middle of Delaware. A little background info: "Axxiom" actually used to be "Exodus" and existed in a little house across the parking lot from where they are right now. I went to Exodus on the last day they were open and escaped from one of their rooms. Their old rooms in Exodus are nothing compared to the new ones in Axxiom. The old rooms had simple locks and were "unglamorous". They were a lot of counting numbers and calculations. The new rooms in Axxiom are definitely a lot better. Axxiom is still fairly new and so they're still coming out with rooms. Right now they have about three with unique themes. They plan on coming out with a gypsy themed room and a haunted room by the end of this month. Be sure to call ahead for reservations as well as to ask which rooms they have available The specific room we had was sorcerer themed; we had to solve a combinations of potions to stop the "dark lord and his dragon". It wasn't hard immersing ourselves into the story because everything in this room was so beautifully created. From the detailed walls to the golden throne to the magical decor everything was perfect. The employee who introduced us into this room, Dennis, was super friendly and thorough with instructions. This is actually my second time with him because he also explained a previous room I went to back in Exodus. According to him, the sorcerer room has a 2.5/5 difficulty rating. One of the other rooms they have here, the Heist, is the most difficult room they have so far with a 4.5/5 rating. There are more escape rooms in Wilmington if you can't wait for more rooms to be revealed here! The Wilmington location is also under the same company (either called Exodus or Axxiom).

Our puzzle master, Jamie, did a great job of explaining the process before we got started, and I do appreciate that the door is unlocked so you can come and go as needed (didn't have to, but I remember when that wasn't the case!). We did the Witch's Cauldron, which was a really fun room to work with. Of course without giving anything away, everything was pretty clear in terms of what was next, and clues came way in handy when we asked for them, which was easily done by just saying so while looking at a camera. I think this was their newest room, but the first one I'd been to. I thought it was really well done, and everyone was engaged throughout. I especially prefer the rooms where there's a lot that needs to be done, so people can split up doing stuff rather than everyone crowding around one puzzle. I'd love to try another room there sometime!

The rooms are $32 per person (no discounts for children or weekday pricing), and with tax the total price for the three of us was $102.36. David was our game master and did a great job of explaining everything to us before we started and quickly feeding us clues during the game when we asked. We did the Egyptian Tomb: Imhotep's Curse because it felt the most like we were in Indiana Jones. I wish we had known there were actually two rooms, so that I might have budgeted my time better and asked for clues a little sooner. Alas, we did not escape the room(s), but it was still a great experience and it was all very well designed. I think we are all itching to come back for redemption, so we'll definitely return and give one of the other rooms a shot.

There was some cool interaction with this room for a bit in particular. Another one, Vampires. even though also dark, was setup to light up at all the right times. Vampires is probably very highly rated for escape rooms in the country and was certainly one of my favorite experiences personally. Game master and staff have escape room running down to a science. This company has been here for 7 years and they plan to change Bikers theme soon. The entrance is a bit tricky to find as the website said to go down a set of steps on the side. While this is still true, you need to go down a different flight of stairs w a blue awning instead.

They did the reservations and everything so I can't speak to that. Upon entering one from our group checked in while two of us searched the lobby for handprints to get extra clues. We all signed our waivers and then were guided back behind the curtain to enter our room. The design was great. You really felt like you were in a bar and there was a lot of detail to the decor. We had a little trouble figuring out where to start but we were able to just ask our game master for a clue when needed. It is such a fun, hands on experience. The puzzles were fun. I enjoyed the variety and that it wasn't just figuring out combinations to locks. Unfortunately we didn't escape in time, but just a few more minutes and we would have had it. The four of us all had a great time and though. This was my first experience so I didn't have a lot to compare it to. However it was great and definitely made us fans of escape rooms. We have done one other since and definitely preferred the experience here
