I contribute that to the amazing and compassionate volunteers who run this rescue. Their puppies are raised in the homes of these caring individuals so they have been trained and socialized with love and care. If you are interested in adopting a dog needing a forever home, Lil Paws Maltese Rescue is where you need to go. They have meet and greets every month to find good matches for their puppies. We are so in love with our new fur baby.

I'm sharing this as a genuine concern for animal welfare and transparency…read more I've noticed this individual adopting animals from local shelters while simultaneously requesting donations and then selling the animals at retail-level prices. That raises serious ethical questions. Animal shelters exist to place pets into safe, permanent homes--not to supply inventory for resale. If money is being exchanged beyond standard adoption fees, the public deserves clarity on where funds are going and whether shelters are aware. Donations should support care, vetting, and rescue efforts--not personal profit. If this is a legitimate rescue operation, transparency, nonprofit status, and itemized use of funds should be clearly provided. Otherwise, this feels misleading to donors and unfair to families who adopt in good faith. I hope proper oversight is in place to protect the animals and the community.Donations solicited under the appearance of animal rescue while animals are sold at retail prices.

I applied to adopt in July and got approved by the end of the month. There were a couple of pugs I…read morewas interested but since the application process took a while, they were already adopted. Although I admit I was frustrated I was so happy when I found "Britches" (now named Penny), on the website. Within a week we were set up with a trial visit with her at our home. When we first met Penny, we were surprised at how friendly she was. Her bio stated that she was very bossy and might have an issue with children, but this was likely due to the severe ear and skin infection she had when she was surrendered. Penny is now a healthy and fun loving pug. She is kind to children and will voluntarily sit on any lap available. She is four years old but she is as playful as a puppy. She enjoys her squirrel toys, playing tug of war, and rolling in the grass. We are so grateful to PRA for giving us the chance to fall in love with Penny. Yes, the process takes forever and can be frustrating when all you want is a pug, but it is worth it. Also, understand that this nonprofit organization is made up of all volunteers. These people work hard and though it can be a taxing process, they are volunteering their time in order to get these fur babies a home. Once you are approved the process is so fast.

An absolute dreadful of a company, total waste of time and money! After an insane amount of fuss…read moreand interviews over several months, the staff and the company insulting and patronizing us about basic aspects they decided to refuse us. They went as far as saying that our 6yrs old son shouldn't have his toys around the house. We were led to believe that we are in the final stages and our "Next Interview" was to actually meet the dog. We actually never met any dog. I would not in million years recommend this company, stay away as they will do everything they can to waste your time and energy.

Austin Pets Alive! is near and dear to my heart because of the many animal lives they save. This…read morereview is a long time coming as I have many draft reviews that I am still working on getting posted. As the mother of a rescue dog who was going to be euthanized, I am 100% behind everything this thrift store stands for. In fact, every 6 months when I overhaul my closet, I donate A LOT of clothing, shoes, and accessories to the store in support of the cause. I also like to swing by as part of my North Loop jaunt (every few months, hit up North Loop stores and pubs---to include APA!) to make purchases. Found quite a few cute things here over the years not only for myself but friends and family. They've got an amazing selection of items and each time I pop in they seem to have loads more. Support this local shop in saving animal lives. Trust me, you will find something to buy!

When my aunt was alive every Christmas she would give me pieces of depression glass as a gift…read more These pieces were special to me because over the years she thrifted and amassed a fairly large collection. My collection has dwindled over the years through breakage. So I was thrifting looking for pink depression glass. The Burnet Road location is large, well organized with two-stories of items. It is filled with just about anything that you can imagine. Clothing...they have it! Shoes...they have it! Vintage items...they have it! Kitchen and house wears...they have it! Unfortunately, no pink depression glass. I will definitely return to thrift here due to their large selection of things. In addition, their prices are very reasonable. First stop Austin Pets Alive! - Burnet. I learned that all net sale proceeds go directly to support Austin Pets Alive!'s lifesaving programs for animals most at risk. Their clear mission is saving animals' lives, which is so heartwarming. According to staff, Austin Pets Alive! is known for pioneering innovative programs that help keep pets out of euthanasia and place them into loving homes. The Burnet Road location plays a critical role in sustaining those efforts by serving as a critical funding source for the organization's work across Central Texas.
