Every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday; buy one house taco and get the second one free. Between the restaurant title and this awesome deal, it's pretty obvious which route I decided to go! The gringo was the sole taco that came in a hard shell packed with beef while the yardbird was packed with hot honey fried chicken. While the chorizo had an uncanny combination of vegetables, I gave my tastebuds the benefit of the doubt and devoured this immediately. The Al pastor was piled with pineapples, which was surprisingly another great addition to this tortilla! Just when I had enough surprises, the plot thickened as I explored vegetarian tacos. Never would I ever guessed that cauliflower and bananas mix well on a soft shell! I ironically report that the taste actually surpassed the protein tacos! Taco Tuesday is a terrific time to tower through tremendous tacos! #poptaco #madisonave #tacogringo #yardbirdtaco #alpastor #chorizotacos #buffalocauliflowertaco #plantaintacos #BlackBeanTacos

But the tacos are still so amazing. Staff members are very friendly at register and the ordered get served within minutes. We have been to the store multiple times in last couple of months. Love the chicken Al pastor, carne asada and pollo tacos that come with so many ingredients. We just discovered the chicken quesadilla is also top notch. Of course can't get enough of their street corn and the guacamole. I wish they add a bit more flavor the carne asada. I have signed up for the rewards account that gets me points for every dollar. Also found they have $100 gift cards for $80 at Costco. Bought a bunch, so we are dining with a 20% discount :D

This one is very good. I got chicken tinga, al pastor, and chorizo and they were all very good, packed with flavor. Chicken tinga is nice shredded up chicken with really good flavor. The Alpastor was very good, great flavor cooked good. Comes topped with pineapple. The chorizo was my favorite it was slightly spicy but great flavor. Love that it's crumpled up. I only gave it 4/5 stars cause it was a bit pricey it was $21 for 4 tacos but they were very good definitely worth the money. Service was great you can order from the person or there is a iPad to order on. They came out fast. Lots of seating inside as well, high top tables and regular tables towards the back. I will definitely be back

I was craving Mexican food, so I chose La Candelaria to try their sopes…read more The order I placed came with four pieces; I asked for one of each filling: carne asada, trompo, chicken, and chorizo. Two were enough to make a satisfying meal. I'll share the other two with my husband. Now, regarding the sopes themselves: I can honestly say that the quality was so authentic, it felt just like eating them in Mexico. The meat--both the beef and the pork--was delicious; they are topped with lettuce and either *queso fresco* or *queso panela*. On the side, the order also comes with a sautéed serrano pepper, limes, radishes, and nopales. Each order includes a green salsa and a red salsa; they were quite spicy--flavor-wise they were good, though a bit on the runny side. The price per order is excellent, and as I mentioned earlier, one order is enough to feed two people since the sopes are generously filled. This time, I ordered directly through the Yelp app (which redirects to Grubhub), and the delivery was very fast. Kudos to the team--I will definitely be ordering from this place again! It is 100% recommended. God bless you all.

The colorful, lively atmosphere is impressive and adorned with lots of wall art; even the booths have attractive decorations. Horchata: It was hard to make a choice, but I decided to explore the horchata. This refreshing drink with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla hit the spot! Tortilla Chips with Salsa: Prior to the main course, I was chowing down on delicious tortilla chips with homemade salsa. If you enjoy tortilla chips, you are going to love what's next. Sopes: These open face corn tortillas have a crunchy bottom. Hidden underneath the sour cream and cilantro are proteins. A few of the meat options are Mexican sausage, steak, or pork. Don't be shy with the green sauce if you want an extra kick or squeeze some lemon if you prefer a bright, tangy flavor. Fried Pork Burrito: All of the toppings are packed into a 12-inch flour tortilla. This looks so beautiful I was in awe by its appearance alone. It is filled with fried pork, rice, beans, guacamole and all the other trimmings. Pasta Di Mare: As a bonus, this location also sells Italian dishes. Do you "see" all of this seafood? Check out the variety of marine life including calamari, mussels, clams, and shrimp over linguine. All of this classic marine life is served over linguine. Also included Is a side of garlic bread. If you want some extra flavor, feel free to dunk away. It was truly an authentic experience dining in this Mexican restaurant. #lacandelaria #bergenfieldnj #friedporkburrito #Sopes #horchata #pastadimare #TortillaChips #salsa #eats #foodreview #foodstagram #LocalSpot #njfoodie #mexicanfood #mexicancuisine #eats #localspots

The place is very clean and decorated nicely. Food: I ordered two items: I got the Al Pastor Guarache and the 8 piece Buffalo Wings. First off: reading other Yelp reviews, was I supposed to be served free chips + salsa while I was waiting for my food? That never happened. Minus point for that. In any case, here's the low-down on my order: a Guarache is "masa dough with smashed pinto beans, cotija cheese, and green sauce". I was suprised I coudn't find any photos of it here on Yelp, so I guess I'm the first. To be honest, it was very good! I have nothing to compare it to, but I do like that along with the al pastor pork, they added quite a bit of the pineapple to the top of the "guarache" which translates to "sandal" in Mexican. It's a similar shape. On to the wings: honestly, for a Mexican spot ---- they were spot-on wit the wings! They were fresh, crisp, and a tangy buffalo sauce. 8 pieces for free is quite a promotion. I'm surprised the place wasn't bustling, but then again it was a weekday. Hopefully on the weekends they get good business. Big props to Guadalupe for being helpful and for the service she provided! I was a bit hesitant to come here because I saw some "mixed reviews", but maybe because I was the only one --- things couldn't have gone better? Who knows! What I do know is that I have a birthday coupon to use --- and I'm coming back...pronto!

Decor was minimal but nice and comfortable. Had great music in the background (80's rock - yes I'm GenX). We decided to sample a few things so for appetizers we got the mini calzones (sausage and broccoli rabe) that came 3 on a plate and were about the size of a ravioli and stuffed full. Absolutely delicious. Not overwhelming in garlic taste or sausage - a perfect balance. We also got the lobster dumplings. This came in a small bowl with broccoli florets and a tasty sauce. There were 4 dumplings and again, perfect balance, did not have an overwhelming lobster smell at all and the sauce was tangy with a sweet aftertaste. We also had the ahi tuna tacos, came 2 on a plate, piled high with cabbage, a slice of avocado, tuna, and a crème sauce that left me wanting more, and 2 cucumber slices on top. Again - delicious. For dinner we split the Ahi Tuna and it came with Soba Noodles and Bok Choi in a sauce. The tuna was seared with, what tased like, crushed red pepper flakes but it only had a slight "kick" to it. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted so great. We got the polenta on the side and it was perfect for offsetting the spice! Dessert matched the meal in its taste and presentation! We had the dark chocolate mousse and the napoleon. I think the best part of both was the ice cream that came with it, a perfect addition to the dessert and presented with such elegance that you almost didn't want to eat it. Our waiter was fantastic. He gave us some good suggestions that we went with and did not steer us wrong. Right now, they are BYOB. We had a great chat with the chef on our way out and he was super nice and friendly (and he beat Bobby Flay!). This is our new favorite place and can't wait to go back to try more. They have a lunch menu that is different from the dinner menu that I can't wait to try. Chef Michael says his chicken burger is the best! Gotta try it!!
