This is one of my favorite places. The service is always excellent, the drinks are delicious, and the vibes are always on point. I've loved every single food item i've tried from here, all the different ceviches, the Tallarines Verdes, Adobo de Cerdo, Lomo Saltado??? Everything is incredible, but once I tried the Aji de Gallina, I was STUCK. I loved this dish so much, I would come here once every other month or so to get it, including my last three birthdays. But sadly, I will say, the last two times i've been here, (since July of 2026), I've been disappointed with the Aji de Gallina. Something is different. The chicken tastes drier now, and the sauce isn't quite what it used to be. I'm not sure if the recipe was changed, but please know I am devastated and heartbroken to no longer be able to get my favorite dish and have it taste like it once did. Will it stop me from coming here? No. But I needed to make it known that the change to this dish made someone who once couldn't deviate from eating it if I tried, turn into someone who now refuses to order it because I can't bank on it being as delicious as it once was. So, I went to this spot for a date, and honestly, I was a bit unsure at first since I didn't know anything about Peruvian food. I thought it was just a tiki bar, but it kinda is plus, the service was awesome. We sat at the bar, and the bartender whipped up one of the best old fashioneds I've ever had. They've got those giant ice cubes, which is a big win in my book. (Real whiskey drinkers know what I'm talking about) haha The bartender was super chill and asked if we had any questions about the menu. I was totally clueless about what to order, but when I mentioned what I like, he pointed me right to the dish I wanted. The vibe in the place is gorgeous, and yeah, it's a bit on the pricey side, but perfect for a date night. If you're looking to impress a girl in Petaluma, take her here! We were passing through town and found this restaurant from the ratings. We started with their Empanadas de Lomo. The outsides were nice and crispy, the meat inside was flavorful. My only Issue was the mayo based dip. It threw me off and couldn't eat them. Saved for the next day to enjoy them. My Peruvian go to is always the Lomo Saltado. And being that my first taste of it was in Portland, Oregon, it set the standard for me. This one was in a whole lot of gravy, which I'm not used to at all. It was good, but felt and tasted like a stew. The picture is me pulling up the meat, onions and tomatoes to the surface. So there was even more liquid than it appears. It's an adventure trying the dishes I haven't tried. We ordered the fried whole dish I wouldn't normally ordered and I'm soooo glad we did. The fish was fried crispy outside with perfect salt and pepper seasoning. The inside was juicy and fresh. The sauce came with plenty of seafood like scallops and calamari. While I was eating it, I already think of ordering this dish again next time!! The empanadas is yummy. The pastry wasn't doughy which is exactly I like. The green sauce came with it definitely made it even better. The short rib and bean dish was good. I like the seasoning and think it would go well with lamb too. We walked in after a very long hike and immediately felt refreshed upon entering with the vibrant colors & vibes inside the restaurant. However, we opted to sit outside as the sun was still out. Our service was impeccable. There are such a variety of interesting tropical drinks to choose from and although mine was tasty, I much preferred the cocktail my friend ordered "The Petaluma". It had a splash of mezcal in it to give it a smoky flavor. My friend ordered a steak appetizer which she said was divine. I had a corn cake appetizer, which was tasty yet a little bit dry however, the salad was fresh and quite pleasing. Horrible table service. Went with family for wife's bday. Sat around 5pm on a Saturday. All good until we were getting tired of waiting for someone to take our order. After almost 30 minutes my wife went to greeter and asked for service! We noticed a table next to us who were there before us, also had to wave down someone to order. The kicker was IT WAS NOT BUSY! To make it worse, two tables that arrived AFTER us had their drink orders taken. Server brought bill. I placed card with bill......and waited.....and waited.....and waited ....,,and waited. My wife looks at me and says lets pay upfront inside (we were at outside table) We stand up and start walking and the server comes bolting out as if we were trying to bail on paying for meal! OMG what a hidden GEM!! We came to Petaluma to visit the Lavender Farm and Honey and decided to try this place for lunch and I'm SO HAPPY we did. The issue now is how far this place is to us but if you're in the area HIGHLY recommend. First off - the service and staff - so friendly and welcoming. And the decor - all welcoming, hip, and beautiful! There was quite a few of us so we had a lot of different dishes and EVERYONE raved about their dishes! Let me start with mine. I got the Aji de Gallina - it's a Peruvian classic dish with shredded chicken in a creamy yellow pepper sauce served with rice. This is my base line for how good a Peruvian restaurant is and I will tell you - they have the absolute BEST ONE I've had EVER. Don't get me wrong - I've had really good ones else where but this dish was PERFECT - tenderness of the shredded chicken and the sauce was AMAZING. I'm drooling just thinking about this dish!! Hubby got the Cau Cau de Mariscos - which is a stew made with a variety of seafood such as scallops, octopus, shrimp, and calamari in a hot skillet that also had a broth made of onions, garlic, amarillo peppers, potatoes, carrots, fish stock, and mint. The seafood was cooked PERFECTLY and the broth was AMAZINGLY fresh and flavorful! Another drool dish. Friends raved over their Arroz Con Mariscos - they've had this same dish at other places and Ayawaska was the absolute best with BIG fresh seafood and the most flavorful rice!! At other places, the seafood is chopped up - this place serves the seafood whole (like the shrimp) or in big pieces!! I wish I ordered one to go to bring home for dinner!! Another favorite was the Salmon Con Creama De Poro - my friend LOVED it - she said the salmon was cooked perfectly with delicious veggies and a potato au gratin on the side. She asked for leek sauce on the side which was perfect for her. Very filling dish! Another friend loved his traditional Lomo Saltado which was made so special because they used Filet Mignon, along with the traditional red onion, tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, soy and lomo sauce. It came with the french fries & rice. And he said the fries were perfectly crisp and were not greasy at all - a perfect complement to the lomo saltado! We also had a friend who got the chicken empanadas. She loved it as the outside was light and crispy and the inside had the Aji de Gallina filling! It also came with a parsley dipping sauce which really accented the empanadas. They loved it so much, they ordered extra to bring home to their daughter!! We stopped here for an early dinner b cause the location is right on the river and they have an outdoor patio so we could at with our little dog. Decor is very hip and bright and the whole restaurant looks very new. Service was fast and friendly. My in-laws got the CONCHITAS A LA PARMESANA which they said were very yummy and the SECO DE CARNE which looks delicious. My husband got the EMPANADAS DE POLLO and he loved them. Ayahuasca Restobar was a great choice for our anniversary dinner, and we really enjoyed the experience. We tried several pisco-based cocktails, which were excellent--well balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It was nice to see an authentic Peruvian spirit featured so thoughtfully. We shared one of their potato-based appetizers (one of the papas). I can't remember the exact name, but I do remember it being delicious. We also ordered entrées and finished with dessert, and everything we had was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful, service was solid throughout the evening, and the atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming. We like the empanadas here and just wanted a small snack at 4pm. We had a weird experience at the bar. We were there for happy hour and let them know that. We had to ask to see the happy hour menu and the bartender seemed irritated we asked about it. We ordered 2 iced teas and some small food dishes. She gave us the bill when we asked for it and then waited a really long time to collect our card. After we had the bill, she asked if we wanted more iced tea. We said "sure" thinking it was just a top off before we left. She then edited the bill without telling us and charged for 2 more iced teas and handed us back the card and receipt with the original, lower amount on it, as if she didn't want us to notice the edit to the bill. Their ceviches are refreshing and tasty. you can go traditional, like the aptly named el clasico, or something more innovative. The river front scene in Petaluma keeps getting better and better. I just went to this place for the first time. My husband and I usually go to the one in Novato. The ambience was really beautiful in Petaluma. I wasn't too hungry, so I got a salad. I think it was called the Vivace. I cannot eat dairy or gluten, and I did check with the waiter, and he said it was gluten and dairy free. I loved everything about the salad. It had such great flavors that all meshed together. The only thing I would caution others about is the possibility of gluten cross-contamination. After eating, I experienced abdominal bloating and stomach distention, which are symptoms I unfortunately know well from past gluten exposure. Those with gluten sensitivity or celiac disease may want to use caution. Even with that experience, I would still return and try something else from the menu. This is a restaurant that we will keep coming back as long as the food is great. The pulpo (grilled octopus) is one of my favorites here. It's tender and grilled to perfection. The pesto dish with the steak is pretty good. The steak almost tasted better than the lomo saltado. I've been to the restaurant a few times. The food is good, the ambience, the drinks, and the service. I am Peruvian, I typically start with their ceviche clasico, pulpo anticuchero (one of the best original items of their menu), and then move to my entree which is Lomo Saltado. It's a pricey night out if you order a few cocktails, but nothing beats a good Peruvian meal and especially if it's a date night. The owner is not Peruvian, but the concept of the restaurant is pretty faithful to Peruvian cuisine. He also admittedly didn't design the restaurant for "Peruvians". So, adding an egg to your lomo like in a traditional Peruvian restaurant won't happen. read more

I was very happy with my drink. For my meal I ordered the tallarines verdes, and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The filet mignon was sauced perfectly and it blended so well with the pesto linguine. I very rarely eat my entire meal in one sitting, but I could not put my fork down! Soo good and big portions! We came here on NYE 2024 in a large group of 13 and they were able to accommodate us. They have deliciously strong cocktails, lots of small plates/appetizers to share and substantial entrees. We orders a variety of cocktails and I tried most of them, they were all tasty and strong. Anyhow, moving on to apps, we ordered an Ahi Tuna Ceviche with taro chips, chicken empanadas, crab/shrimp fried wontons and calamari's and our party devoured those so quick! The salmon was crispy and seasoned well. The potatoe gratin and veggies went well with the salmon. I would definitely order it again. The hubs ordered the filet mignon Lomo Saltado and I know he enjoyed it because he gobbled it all up with the quickness. My sister and brother in law ordered a Tacu Tacu, one with the lomo saltado steak and one with seafood. They enjoyed it but it was such a large portion, it was substantial! I missed this place so much while I was pregnant. So good to be back. As always, they serve up the best ceviche. They have several options to choose from and you can't go wrong with any one of them. I usually go with their classic or ahi. Make sure to get the terra chips with it. Happy hour offers discounted cocktails and bites. Empanadas for $5 and those are always delicious. We came for lunch on Saturday after 1 pm and we were seated immediately. You could make reservations if preferred. Servers were attentive and accommodating with our stroller. The lomo saltado clasico was good. Very tender and juicy meat. The pescado a lo macho had fantastic presentation! I don't typically eat whole fried fish but I tried some from my husband's plate and ate more than I thought I would. The seafood stew went well with the fish and rice. As a Bolivian, I was very happy to have this option that is somewhat close to our cuisine - So I had to order a chicha morada as my beverage of choice, so refreshing!
