I've known Robert Ayers for almost 5 years now, when I began my research to buy another German Shepherd after my beloved male Rocky, a rescue, died of Degenerative Myelopathy (DM). Not only does Robert guarantee the quality and health of all of his males and females by ensuring that they are OFA Certified or have OFA Prelims before breeding; but he also DNA tests to ensure they are free of DM. (OFA is the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. This shows that the parents do not carry a trait for Hip Dysplasia.) I've had pure-bred German Shepherds for over 46 years and the 3 Ayers Legends GSDs I have now are the best I've ever had, in terms of temperament, size, intelligence, and health. My Samantha Honey Pi (Sam the Man x Fern) will be 4 in March; Goliath the Rock (Zeus x Salem) will be 4 in June; and Brutus the Bear (Big Dave x Rye) will be 2 in April. My son Brian also has a ALGSD, Zeus (Keystone x Taylor) from Robert. Both Zeus and my Goliath are descendants of Rin Tin Tin II and IV. They continue to thrive thanks to Robert and his continued support. Anytime I have a question or concern, all I have to do is text or message him and he gets back to me pretty quickly with the answer. The Facebook page he created for his extended Ayers Legends Family has also been awesome. We share pictures, stories and information almost every day. To anyone reading these ratings, it should be obvious that Ayers Legends will have all 5-star ratings, except for one. That's because that couple was banned from the group after they began bashing and harassing Robert for political reasons, which is not what our group is about. Then they had the nerve to threaten Robert that if he didn't allow them to rejoin the group that they would post these negative reviews. We are a friendly, honest, non-political group and are here to help each other. If their puppy truly had giardia, which I find hard to believe, all they had to do, was text, message, or call Robert. Robert would have told them how to handle it. I looked it up and within seconds learned that it is one of the most common intestinal parasites found in 50% of all puppies and it is very easily treated. I know that Robert starts all of his pups with the necessary initial immunizations and literally tells you, in his contract, to take the puppy to the veterinarian within the first 72 hours for a check-up. Robert and Casey Ayers are the most dedicated, honest, caring and knowledgeable German Shepherd breeders, probably in the entire United States. That's why there's a two-year waiting list to get one of their fabulous dogs. Ayers Legends puppies are that great and definitely worth the wait. I have been a lifelong dog owner generally with chocolate labs until I rescued a German Shepherd and fell in love with the breed. Unfortunately, he passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly leaving a hole in our hearts. I have had many experiences with various breeders over the years and there is none better than Robert Ayers. This is not just a business for him as every pup holds a place in his heart. He takes meticulous care of his moms and dads as well as his pups. This is not a breeding or puppy mill as each dog there has an amazing quality of life. I have never had a breeder stay in contact with us, offer ongoing support and advice, and even create a group for all owners of Ayers Legends pups to share experiences, ask questions, etc.. as Robert Ayers has. Originally we were going to drive to OK and pick up the pup but then after discussing it with our vet and doing some research, it did not seem wise for the pup. We were advised against it largely bc traveling with a new puppy is very stressful for the pup in so many ways coupled with the fact that the pup has not gained immunities can compromise an already immature immune system. We didn't want to take any chances that our pup would pick up something from a rest area, hotel, water etc.. and become ill. While we were disappointed, it was the best decision as the pup flew on a couple hour flight, in his own crate with his own things and was in perfect health when he arrived!! You could tell immediately as his coat was shiny, eyes bright, and very excited to be set free! These pups are an investment but one well worth making. I had always vowed I would never spend thousands of dollars on a dog but now that we have, we'll be going back for another! It has been a pleasure to work with Ayers Legends to find a pup. Robert is easy to talk with and very knowledgable about the GSD. The website is easy to use and very informative, it made it easy to select a pup. When we had questions before we got our pup and after Robert was quick to respond and thorough in his responses. The pup is now almost 6 months old and has never been ill, she is a hardy dog, very intelligent with a great personality. We were looking for the old fashioned straight back shepherd and this pup is perfect. She is my 6th shepherd of this type, four were rescues and this pup and the one before her we purchased. The breeder we purchased our prior pup from was nowhere near Robert in terms of knowledge, responsiveness and responsible breeding. That pup died after only two years from blastoma leukemia and broke our hearts, she was ill from the first day we got her and despite our best efforts she succumbed to cancer. We heard about Ayers and made contact after this tragic loss, in our conversations I felt reassured that his breeding practices would yield a healthy pup. Once we purchased our pup we were able to join a Facebook page for families who have an Ayers dog and it has been invaluable as a support and a just plain fun site to get to know people and dogs. The people who share stories and photos on that site are just as pleased with their canine family members as we are. We hope to have another Ayers dog in the future, the entire experience has been positive. We live a good distance from Oklahoma in Pennsylvania and Robert connected us with a great transporter of canines, our pup arrived in good spirits, clean and well fed. Robert & Casey Ayers have the very best GSDs & program I've ever seen,(I did ALOT of research before purchasing a GSD,too. Kept coming back to Ayers Legends. ). Not only are the pups phenomenal, but the Ayers' actually stay in contact with the new owners, they are always available to answer questions, make referrals, whatever the new owner needs. Robert is passionate about the breed n is always happy to give advice to help both the pups n their new owners. I took my pup to my vet 2 days after bringing her home n even my vet was impressed..said my pup was top quality, n he called her "regal" in appearance. We did a fecal test,too, even thoe we were told the pups had been wormed. My vet said my pup had ZERO parasites...that she was quite healthy n well cared for. My vet was truly impressed. My vet sees alot of GSDs, but he n his wife both are vets in the same practice n they think my girl is quite impressive. The fact the breeder stays in touch, makes informative videos on proper nutrition, training tips, etc speaks volumes of their love of the breed n the dogs they produce. The post by Mike Aerni is false. Mike and his wife were on our Facebook page and brought politics into the group, when I asked her not post anything with politics she said it is her right. Once I removed them from our page I received multiple messages from them that said they would leave bad reviews if I didn't add them back on. Every person in that litter took their pup to the vet and every one else's pups came back clear and healthy. Mike picked up his pup in the a.m on a Thursday and didnt make it to the vet until Tuesday. This is why in the contract we have our customers go to the ver within 72 hours , it only takes until the 5th day for giardia to show. This tells me and every vet I've talked to that his pup got giardia on the car ride home because if 1 pup in the litter had it , they all would have had it. Again, this really has nothing to do with a dogs but 100% politics. I even offered Mike 100% refund for the pup but he didn't want that. Mike also called the State on us and we were 100% in compliance, we only have 10 intact females on our premises. He also complained to the State because the ears were floppy at 9 weeks old (they thought he was an idiot, their exact words to me.) However, him and his wife did get on my Facebook and leave long rants like children and insulted my customers. Listen up folks! Ayers Legends German Shepherds are a top notch breeder! Robert and his wife Casey have created a wonderful little family of loyal customers (many of whom cant help but buy 2, 3, and 4 Ayers dogs) and we are all constantly supporting one another on our journey as GSD owners, asking for updates, posting advice, hearing great info from Robert, etc. The Ayers's dedicate their LIVES to making sure customers who have one of their puppies are part of their extended family and could not be more helpful if they tried. They are conscientious people who are kind and responsive and helpful to everyone! You only need to ask for a recommendation/suggestion or even help and they are right there to talk you through it! We love our Ayers Legends boy! I would also like to provide a rebuttal to a February 2019 1-star review left on here by a "disgruntled" puppy owner. That individual got into an argument on Facebook over POLITICS with the Ayers extended family and was rightfully removed from the group. They carried through on their documented threats "to be reinstated into the group or else" and when not permitted they started fabricating stories in an attempt to discredit the breeder. Rob and family have become family. Our Stella is a stunning silver sable from Zella and Torque (Dec 2017) and she's the most love left, tender hearted pup I've ever had. She's so smart and so much the family helper. She loves bedtime with us more than anything as she's a cuddler. The kids everywhere love her and she loves giving them kisses and talking to them (yes - Ayers Legend pups talk to their hoooomans lol). We receive continued support from Rob and his family through engaging and educational social media posts and YouTube videos. YOU WILL NEVER FIND ANOTHER BREEDER LIKE THIS!!! As for the Giardia complaint below (only giving one star), this rips my heart out for Rob and his family. If they knew the first thing about Giardia, they'd know it's both extremely common and extremely difficult to get rid of. I, too, had a puppy with Giardia and it cost me $87 the first visit. I didn't pick up after every single poo like the veterinarian told me to, and low and behold, puppy had it again. Another $87. So if "Mike A." was down $500, I assure you it was due to back to back failure to pick up and discard every poo in the yard. Call any vet right now, and they'll tell you the same thing: It's extremely common, non-life threatening, and is VERY difficult to get rid of unless the feces is immediately removed from the yard. read more

My wife has been wanting a German Shepherd dog her whole life and when we started seriously looking we found Robert and Casey Ayers with Ayers Legends Old fashioned thick boned, straight back, Large German Shepherds. I called him up and told him exactly what color of dog she wanted and he put me on the list. We waited patiently for 8 months before we laid eyes on our Auggie boy. What an awesome experience meeting Robert and Casey and our new pup. Super friendly people and gave us a ton of information and answered all our questions about our dog. I don't think you could find a better breeder anywhere, and the dogs are so laid back and good natured. Our grandkids are all over him and he is so good with them. When we took him to the vet for the first time the lady at the desk said where did you get this dog? Ayers Legends of course! We get so many compliments on him and our vet was very impressed with his looks and conformation. We have been following Roberts recommendations for feeding and care and at 12 weeks old he weighs 31 pounds and is healthy as a horse. I have had dogs and critters all of my life. Mostly all rescues. For once I wanted what I WANTED! After a GREAT deal of research and references about a particular breeder........ this breeder is hands down the best breeder of German Shepherd dogs. The 1 star review by Mike A was simply a cheap, and threatened attack on Ayers Legends because they removed him from their facebook group over political things, which are not allowed in the group. he told someone they could not post something, yet he was not even an admin there. he demanded they add him back into the group and when they declined he began threatening to post negative reviews and to have his friends post fake reviews. Giardia is common in puppies. nobody else has had that problem. he had the dog for days before he took it to the vet, and days is all it takes for a puppy to pick it up and for it to develop. How can the breeder be blamed when he makes sure all his pups are healthy when going to new homes? he can't control what the puppy is exposed to once it leaves him! he was certainly posting how happy he was with his puppy up until the point he was removed! I got my girl last year and she is by far the best shepherd I have ever had. beautiful, smart, easily trained and loyal as can be! Robert Ayers has gorgeous and healthy dogs. I have wanted a German Shepherd for many years. I began researching breeders about 2 years ago. I was determined to get a straight backed GSD and narrowed my research to breeders that only offer Straight Backed. About a year ago I narrowed it down to 3 breeders in Texas and Oklahoma and began watching their sites, reading their Facebook pages etc. I communicated with all of them. I choose Ayers Legends based on all of the positive feedback I found. The private FB page of owners and prospective owners has nearly 500 people and is full of amazing information. I decided then to get our pup from Ayers. Loki joined our family 4 months ago and he is just an amazing little guy! The Vet and our Trainer have both commented again and again how good natured, healthy and smart he is. Robert Ayers has been completely supportive of all of our questions whether it be on when to spay, how to feed and when to introduce a canine sibling. The support has been amazing! When we started researching for a German Shepherd pup Temperament and Heath where our biggest concerns. Being parents of an autistic son we needed a stable minded, patient, and heathy dog. I lost a German Shepherd almost 13 years ago, my heart was broken and it took me like 10 years to even look at another one. When I did start looking I look at what felt like 100's of breeders until I found Ayers. When I seen their dogs it was like seeing my girl all over again! They are all Big, lovable, and well rounded dogs. I am part of the closed group in Ayers so I see all the other beautiful dogs and their HAPPY owners. I did a ton of research before deciding on a breeder to choose my, "man's best friend" or baby from, and I'm in the veterinary field, so you can say we are super picky! I can tell you hands down, Ayers Legends won my heart and met my very high expectations. Believe me, my pup was examined from head to toe and was tested for all known parasites and viruses, not because I didn't trust he was healthy, but because remember I've been in the veterinary field for over 20 years and that's just what we do. My pup, AKA Grizzly, was negative for everything and healthy as HELL..!!!!! He is now 2 years old, beautiful, BIG, healthy, protective and sweet. This is by far the best breeder I have ever come into contact with. While searching for an Old Fashioned German Shepherd, I found ALGS and instantly fell in love with their Silver Sable German Shepherds. Once I spoke with Robert I knew this was exactly the type of breeder I wanted to purchase my fur baby from. He was VERY knowledgeable about the breed and how to properly care for them. He provides his customers with a Facebook page dedicated to them and their fur babies, which allows me to stay in contact with my fur baby's siblings. I was looking for a breeder who breeds for temperament and hips. I called Robert and knew I had found an excellent breeder who truly cares about his animals and his breeding program. I have a bi color male named Brody. He is a fantastic dog. I always have a house full of children and he is excellent. When a "bad guy" broke into my home over the summer I had a very smart Shepherd that kept my family and our home safe. I still am in contact with Robert and his wife. My beautiful boy Baron is all grown up now and they still answer any questions I have and truly care about the well being of your dog for their entire lives.
