I provided them with numerous references, including one from my vet, (he has been a vet for over 40 years and he runs a large practice). They wanted to tell RROC that I am one of the top 3 pet guardians. I have also had a dog for 29 years (one lived to 15 and the other to 14). They got hung up on a home visit. I provided them with several names of people here in Casper that have done home visits for various rescue organizations. When today I offered to contact one of these people to conduct a home visit I was told that maybe I should just a adopt a dog in Wyoming. They have beautiful dogs and I would have made a great home. However, after the treatment I received, I cannot recommend them to anyone.

That means they do things when they have time. This includes responding to emails. "As an all volunteer organization and one that is very busy helping hundreds of dogs, we often are busy with dogs and may be slow in replying to people requests. However, an RROC volunteer will do their level best to respond to your inquiry within 48 hours." The other rescue organizations have similar disclaimers. I submitted my application, I passed the home inspection, 3 weeks have passed and no one has contacted me. If there is such a dire need for homes for dogs then what's up? And why hasn't their website changed at all in the last 6 weeks? One dog is on there looking for a home by the holidays. It's April now. One can conclude that the website hasn't changed in months. I will update my review if necessary.

It was like pulling teeth to ask one of the volunteers what the adoption process entailed. We decided to come back the following day. The dog we had been looking at had been adopted--which is great! I hope he found an excellent home! The new crew of volunteers in on that day were just as blase as the one volunteer the day prior. One woman insisted that we decide on a breed we want, pre-pay the application and adoption fee, so that when our ideal breed comes in, we can just scoop them up! Except that we weren't looking for a breed, we were looking for a personality. She didn't seem to understand that, and kept saying that the only way to get the dog you want these days is to pre-adopt based on breed. Nope. No thanks. The facilities themselves were great, the volunteers blew it.

The director said the cat she was interested in wasn't up for adoption yet and she would have to wait. After many days of my mom calling and talking to the lady she basically said that the cat was already hers she just had to wait for him to be available. Today my mom called the shelter again and the director said THAT THEY GAVE THE CAT AWAY!!!! my mom was so devastated. We just lost our family dog and she was so excited and looking forward to getting a new cat. The director said it was because they had heard my mom say she was going to make it an outdoor cat, WHICH IS COMPLETELY FALSE. first, my mom would never do that. She specifically wants a cuddly indoor kitty as a companion, second the shelter specifically said she cant have an outdoor cat and my mom agreed with that part of the contract. It makes absolutely no sense. I could tell from the very beginning something was off about this rescue and I was right. I'm not sure what they're doing over there but whatever it is it's not good. This was about 2 days before Christmas. I was contacted by one of their adoption coordinators not long after and by New Year's Day I was having a meet-and-greet with my potential kitty. Meet and greet went awesome and I signed the adoption papers that day. In less than a week I'd found my new buddy! The adoption cost ($75) covered neuter, vaccines, microchip and more. I felt great knowing I was rescuing a safe and healthy animal. His foster mom was fantastic as were all the Pawsco people I interacted with. Everyone was very helpful and responsive - it was an easy process and I would recommend them to anyone looking to adopt a pet.

I looked for weeks on all of the shelters websites and almost every dog I was interested in was here at Boulder Valley. All the staff members are helpful and sweet; they answered all my questions and even answered the phone a few minutes after closing to help me. Then I found Zeus. Looking through their website, I stumbled upon him and knew I had to meet him. So I played hooky from work, loaded up my husband, roommate, and her dog and headed out. They were more than happy to have my husband and I meet Zeus one on one and then move him to the big pin out front to meet my roommates dog. From there, my husband and I decided to sit on it over night. The next day, I called and placed a hold on Zeus and then drove that following afternoon to go and get him. The paperwork took about 15 minutes to complete and the staff were so excited to bring him out to me to go home. I went from heartbroken and feeling like we'd never find a dog to walking out of Boulder Valley overjoyed. Thank you guys again for everything. My dog has been going to the vet there for a long time. Now, they've seen him last year at this time for his allergies and the lumps on his body. These women are so dedicated to such an amazing cause…read more They aren't just finding foster and forever homes for animals, they are housing animals in their own house. And, they are spending their weekends and evenings making sure the animals get spayed, neutered and adopted. Our puppy is a joy, and, as far as the adoption process, they made it as easy as possible. They scanned us and the pup very thoroughly to ensure a good match and gave us time to make sure we both matched. They are saving lives, and we were so happy to find them and add our pup to our family.

TLDR: We have a nervous pup, but the amazing staff make him feel comfortable and we love it here…read more For my Wife and I, it's always been difficult to find a place that we feel comfortable coming to repeatedly for our dogs. Like, in terms of toys and treats, most pet places are fine and great, but in terms of self-grooming or baths, it's always a toss up it feels like. But Dogma was immediately welcoming and amazing. Our dog is a rescue and a little reactive, but the staff always know how to calm him and are patient and understanding. We feel a little bad about the fur (he's a husky/Akita mix) and always attempt to clean up our own mess, but every time we're stopped by the staff. Not in a "no, don't do that" sort of way, but always in a "oh, you guys already did all of that work bathing him. It's our turn now" sort of way. Every time they're always so amazing and you can tell they actually care. We've been coming to Dogma ever since and our scared little boy has never been so calm during a bath. 10/10
