My sister started volunteering here after the sudden loss of her precious Persian cat because she genuinely wanted connection with cats to help heal what she no longer had every day with her gorgeous cat. She has an endless amount of love to give, and this was a positive way that she could share that love with numerous cats every week and also feel loved back. She shared her experiences with me every time she volunteered on Mondays. I too love animals (it's a chemical imbalance for us in our family with our obsessions with animals!) and wanted to share in this healing journey with her, so she asked if I could join her when volunteering, and Angels With Paws kindly said YES! I was only going to do it once because of severe anxiety when it comes to animals not having a forever home. I had such a pleasant experience here!! You could easily see from Elizabeth, other workers and volunteers how much they love animals and truly want them to be matched with the best homes ... and make their stay there as comfortable as possible with lots of cozy beds, blankets, toys, food and treats! I do love visiting the cats either to volunteer with my sister or come for play dates when they're open to the public. There truly is something healing about interacting with animals, and I thank Angels With Paws for extending their kindness to creatures that just want love and a home.

The mission of Angels with Paws is great, but their "leadership" needs re-evaluation. Specially, Elizabeth Talamantez, as she is cruel and abuses the shelter's mission by trying to play God. I went to the shelter and immediately fell in love with one of their cats. The cat also took well to me. After reading the listing and visiting with the volunteer who observed how the cat and I interacted, there was no reason to believe this cat would not do well in my home with another cat. The listing never mentioned a home with existing cats being an issue, the social media post even encouraged a proper introduction with other pets in their new home, and when talking with the volunteer there was no mention of other cats being problematic. I submit my application and when I followed up, I was shocked to hear the "rationale" or lack of logic rather as to why I was being denied thr opportunity to save this cat. Elizabeth informed me that she felt it was best this friendly and affectionate cat "would do best being placed in a home with an aggressive cat or a dog" . What sick monster would subject a poor animal to an environment where they are being bullied by an aggressive cat or potentially terrified of a dog and not to mention this cat had no known history of being around dogs? Elizabeth Talamantez is not an animal advocate. She's a mentally disturbed individual who enjoys playing God by subjecting innocent animals to poorly placed homes. My family and I have consistently donated company matched donations and cat food throughout the years because we believe in the shelters mission, but we had no idea how disturbed the "leadership" is. For anyone reading this, I highly encourage you to consider donating elsewhere because your donations likely aren't being managed in a way that aligns with what the shelter claims. It's unfortunate how people will take advantage of innocent beings to fulfill their sick and twisted fantasies, while claiming to be a cat advocate.

Initially, I was just looking as I had some logistics to work out but then I met one of their new arrivals from New Mexico. Bourbon and I clicked immediately. I knew in my gut that he wouldn't be there long so I was able to take him home the same day. All of the ladies on staff were so incredibly friendly, kind and very knowledgable. Linda specifically was especially helpful. It's been almost a month and my little guy, now named Finn, is happy, settled in and is loving his new home. Thanks again to the whole group at RMFR. He worked tirelessly and for as long as it took to save Gray. He was deemed rescue only as a vicious dog. I don't believe the assessments that shelters do and I wanted this dog. It took 30 days to get him. Tony arranged transportation to Colorado, boarding at a great rate for the days he was out of the shelter, being neutered and health certificates readied. I don't think I would have this dog today if not for Tony. We have adopted through him 3 more times.

This time, we left our son for four days with Digstown. Four days before our trip, our pup had a cyst rupture (it was terrifying!) Needless to say, we were worried about leaving him behind with the open wound though he had been given the all clear form the vet as well as antibiotics and anti-inflammatories to assist with healing. I expressed my concerns and left very detailed instructions and requests for his stay. Digstown took extra special care of Tipsy and made sure to send us pictures of the progress of his healing and gave us a very thorough update daily.

The shelter itself is an open concept (minus cats who must be separated) and I think that's pretty neat. You get to see the cats in an environment they're used to and they become comfortable/social with humans. You can also check out their personality and see if they fit well with you. The staff working here are kind/you can tell they enjoy what they do! They answer questions and walk you through the very easy adoption process. In comparison to other places, I noticed the adoption fee was about 100$ less, so that is cool. I adopted Spud - also known as " The profesor" ( the name they gave him) last February and he has become a lovely addition to my pet family. He came with a bag of the food they were feeding him, a blanket and some coupons. It took him some time to adjust, I suspect he might've been feral prior to coming to CCS (His left ear is clipped- which I think is TNR program?) but once he did he is the best companion. He also gets along with my senior cat well. The cats here are socialized, sweet and there's tons to check out. Someone for anyone - if you're looking/ready to take that step. I recommend!

During our initial meeting, she asked me about my dog's needs and how best she could accommodate them. Camille was genuinely concerned about my dog's well-being, and her enthusiasm and kindness toward me and my "special needs" dog made me feel immediately comfortable. I loved reading her cheerful notes about her daily walk with my dog, and Camille was always available to take her for an extra walk if I had to work late. After every visit, we get an email and photo with a comment about the visit. They took such good care of our pets during longer trips, that we also had them start walking the dog midday daily on weekdays. Sitting can be booked easily online. The team at Gentle Hearts communicate very well over email and are quick to respond to requests and questions. We even recently had an emergency that took us out of town suddenly over the weekend, and they responded right away assuring us our pets would be taken care of. I'd highly recommend using them to watch your pets.
