The coaches are really great at working with the kids and at encouraging them and having fun while also laying a groundwork for solid soccer skills. I have one son in the Diamonds league (4-7) and one son in the Toddlers Program (2-3). We love both programs. They are age-appropriate, tailored to the kids' abilities, and very focused around both improvement and encouragement. Both coaches of the diamonds have taken time with my son, who is sometimes reluctant to participate, to encourage him to come back out onto the field and keep trying. The toddlers' coach is energetic, patient, and comes up with great games to encourage the kiddos to join him. Very happy with the program and strongly recommend as a beginners' introduction to soccer.

It's true that you will have to volunteer, but I've found that only makes it more enjoyable. The referee training was great, but it is a bit of a slog to get through all of the HR training. But it's a quality program (about harassment, bullying, etc) and as someone who's run several companies and had to implement programs for hundreds of people, these are top-notch, worthwhile and I definitely learned things. I'm hoping my kids continue next year into the 12U league.

They put out a schedule a few days before the first game. 7 out of the 8 games played in El Segundo High School. ONE game played at Rolling Hills Prep. El Segundo is 45 minutes away from my home. If I would have known that at the beginning, I would have signed up in Torrance. My child (7) is in Division III. It states 6 to 8 years old. I'm seeing kids on other teams 9, 10, and 11 years old. I mentioned it to the director, Joe, and he doesn't seem to care. He just shrugs his shoulder and walks away. There is another division for 9 - 11 years old. Apparently, some coaches want to keep their team intact and winning. Teaching kids isn't the priority here. Joe coaches a Division III team. He screams at his kids and manhandles them. At least he's not my son's coach. Not the way the director should conduct himself. I am told by other parents that he picks his own players. Trying to get a good team. It is hard enough for our coaches trying to teach the kids the game and rules of football. But, when you pit them against kids that are up to 5 years older it is very difficult to coach them. Some become afraid since they are about 8 inches shorter and about 40 pounds lighter. Hard to coach fundamentals when they are paired against such older kids. Bottom line. This organization is poorly run. I will not sign up my kids again in this league.
