Alex has all the qualities you want in a soccer coach and his camps are very well organized. He has played the game at a high level and knows how to translate that experience into simple concepts for kids to understand and apply. He sets high expectations for the players in his program, but knows how to keep the camp fun and entertaining so the kids enjoy learning and want to come back. It's definitely not a babysitting session. All the kids in the program were challenged to improve upon their weaknesses and increase their knowledge of the game. read more

Coach Alex has been coaching my 7 and 11 year old sons through AYSO team practices, a recent 5 mornings spring break camp and private lessons. My boys don't hesitate to say yes and are always excited for a chance to practice with Coach Alex. Alex makes it fun and different for the boys while also working on key skills, drills and building confidence. Alex runs a fast paced, exciting and fun practice. All around great program. My kids came in to the Bexon Academy soccer camp with very little experience and came out with a great knowledge, more skill, and a love for the game. Alex and his coaches helped all the kids expand their fundamental skills regardless of their ability levels with fun drills, games and caring instruction. Both my son and daughter made friends and had fun. Our family can't wait for the next program to start. read more

Alex had been coaching my son for some time now and I couldn't be happier with the results. He has the patience of a saint, and yet manages to keep young children interested. I was out of town for several weeks when my child originally started with him, but when I got back, I couldn't believe the results, in just a few sessions the improvement was dramatic and noticeable. But beyond that, all of the kids he coaches never lose interest and always look forward to the next practice. He's a great coach. read more

He had fun running around with his friends, but I saw him touch a ball maybe three or four times, and I am not especially confident that he learned a single thing. Coach Martin was nice and seemed good with the kids, but he wasn't exactly able to wrangle a whole class of pre-schoolers and get all of them to pay enough attention to learn new skills. There was a noticeable difference between the three-year-olds and the four-year-olds, who did actually seem to get something out of the classes. Leo was on his own planet the first session, and when I asked if he'd listen to the coach the next week, he just straight up told me no. This is how I ended up bribing him with ice cream if he listened to Coach Martin, and he got ice cream maybe half of the rest of the sessions. There's a decent likelihood that we try Super Soccer Stars again. It's a big operation, the kind that sends a lot of promotional emails, and it seems like a lot of our kid's school friends take classes through them. I liked that we were able to join one at someone's house and would sign up again, hopefully when Leo is ready to pay attention and maybe kick a ball.

My family (family of 4) had a blast here! We stayed there for about 6 hours. We did the obstacle…read morecourse twice and rented 2 kayaks while we were there. Bought 3 food items and a gatorade. But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

My younger son joined not knowing anyone and felt welcomed almost immediately. Both of my boys felt included from day one. The staff is incredibly caring, supportive, and attentive. You can truly feel that they work hard to create a safe, joyful environment for the kids, and as a parent that means everything. The activities are fantastic: well planned, age appropriate, engaging, and fun. The natural setting is also beautiful and feels especially important these days. My boys came home with confidence, stories, friendships, and summer memories they will cherish forever. And the camp spirit is real. We still sing the silly songs at home, especially the announcements song whenever we have a family announcement, and the birthday song too. I cannot recommend Cali Camp enough. I've certain found more members using the facilities but also discovered quite a bit of new programmings like the Pilates classes, mahjong club, live jazz performances and movie nights. I was not really sure about the change at the beginning but I am now fully embracing the new LAAC. Many of the staff and members have been here for a long time and it is nice to be greeted by familiar faces when coming to the club. The restaurants are pretty decent. Love to top my salad with a nice piece of salmon after workout at the Famous Players or have a tasty glass of scotch while enjoying the live jazz performance at the Invention. The sports bar Duke's has great happy hours and fun monthly evening karaoke or chess club meetings. The only thing I complain about is the need for shock absorbance and insulation of the noise or moving the weight station. The northwest corner of the Famous Players near Olive Street shakes every time the weightlifters drop their weights, which is very annoying and distracting for the diners. Feel like the ceiling or floor is going to drop out. No joke. For now, I would sit as far away from the northwest corner as I possibly can. But hope the club would look into it. I have been trying to sign up for the monthly wine tasting but they are always full. Maybe consider having the event more frequently or scale up? Regardless, I am still exploring all the new offerings at the club and really pleased with the Pilates classes and the live music performances. Although I am apprehensive when I first see the co-working space and the influx of new members, I now appreciate the additional events and classes that come with the new members and hope the club continues to do well and do better as I am here to stay.

As usual, water in the room costs money, and there are a few other products with hidden price tags in the room, too. Surprisingly, toothbrush and toothpaste was not provided. The water for showering also doesn't get too hot. In terms of the athletic space, the machines were very easy to access. There was never a wait even on weekend afternoons. The lap pool was my favorite part - clean and calm. There was some miscommunication between the lobby and the store, as one said there is no reservation system but there in fact was. But even when told all the lanes were fully reserved, more than half weren't in use. Parking is a bit of a hassle; for non-members it's definitely not worth it. At the time of visit, the parking machine wasn't working. There are also sperate elevators for parking vs the athletic club / hotel area which was a little confusing. The stair numbers also didn't coordinate the best with actual level.

My son really enjoyed Alex's spring break soccer camp. In the past my son has tended to resist camps based only on one sport, but he loved this one. He particularly enjoyed the fun competitions and recreating famous soccer goals. He said Alex was really nice and kept camp entertaining and interesting, whilst also teaching them a lot of skills. Alex runs an excellent advanced soccer camp. There are so many soccer camps that are too packed and lack proper instruction for advanced players, so I was delighted when I learned about this program.
