I had a pretty frustrating experience trying to get basic information from this tax business. I called to ask for a general price estimate for a simple W-2 filing (married filing jointly), and they couldn't give me any kind of ballpark figure. I wasn't expecting an exact quote, but some level of transparency would have been helpful. What was more disappointing is that I was told they wouldn't even be able to have someone call me to provide a general idea of pricing. Communication and transparency are pretty important when it comes to something as straightforward as tax preparation.
