Yesterday evening in the middle of a U-Turn my car completely shut off. I tried everything to get it back up and running but nothing. The next day I had it towed early afternoon to Arizona AutoMasters. I arrived and I was immediately greeted and welcomed inside for refreshments. They have great service and just by watching the way they work I felt very assured that they would do a good job. Furthermore, they heard me out and got me set up right away for diagnosis. Turns out my fuel pump had issues and the car needed some work. I was worried I wouldn't have the car for work in the morning. He informs me that they will have it fixed my closing time and the homey waiting area made the wait not bad at all. Surely my car was up and ready to go before nightfall and this is the best experience I have had with any shop. Chris helped me out today to have my oil changed, also my AC/Heater Air Filter and some worn parts on my car. He was very helpful, friendly, and trustworthy. They have done a lot of work on my car in the past and compared to previous experiences where I felt I was manipulated, lied to, and overcharged I had a hard time feeling like I could trust a repair shop to do the right thing. However, in the past 2 years I have only gone to Az Automasters and they have done an excellent job and saved me more money than I thought possible. When I only had to pay $29.00 for an oil change (Note: my car is pretty old and has 190,000 miles on it) and the filter change, I was shocked and even asked Chris to repeat the amount, I told him how shocked I was because AutoZone charged me over $100 without the filter and tried to sell me things every time. These guys are the best. I have two 1999 vehicles in bad need of maintenance. They did a great job on both. After the service I developed a hard to find electrical problem that caused the engine to "Miss" when idling. Because they felt they should have caught the problem with the previous service they fixed it for the cost of the parts only. I asked why and they said they felt bad that I had to come back the following day to get this fixed. Jessie is great to work with on the phone and really went out of her way to explain what was going on during the time the car was in their shop. Dean & Jim were very professional. I have taken 2 cars to this place and spent a few thousand bucks with them. The first one was to replace my entire A/C system and AZ Auto Masters was the cheapest by a few hundred bucks and they did a great job. Now I have taken my mini van in that needed a bunch of front end work. These guys again were the cheapest and they were very open about the problems with my van. Once they finished, one of the problems wasn't solved, even though they told me what I needed to do was replace my CV axels I thought just by redoing the CV boots it would solve the problem. When it didn't they cut the labor cost by over HALF to go ahead and replace my CV axles totally. I don't know any other shop that would do that. No doubt I WILL NOT go anywhere else to have my cars repaired. Mike and Mark are super friendly, knowledgable and very FAIR when it comes to prices and working with the customer. When you find a repair shop you trust, NEVER LEAVE. It's so hard to find trustworthy mechanics. And the reality is that sometimes a place will make a mistake, it's not the mistake that should turn you off to that place, but how they handle it afterward. We got a 2014 salvage title corolla off Craigslist and celebrated our great deal for about 2 months. Several misdiagnosis and 600$ later we discovered that it had a blown head gasket and the block was warped. My husband is a teacher, I am retired and you don't buy a car with a salvage title because you are wealthy. It is always good to get two opinions on your needed service. Have another automotive repair service give you a diagnosis and estimate before you commit to anything. Then go to AZ Automasters. They do fine work at reasonable prices and will not let you down. The Managers insist that you are happy and will even ask you if anything needs to be changed. Be careful but be smart. I had a warning light and took it to them after being quoted a huge price to fix whatever it was. They removed the warning light and I went through emissions testing just fine. Az Automasters are great, especially mike and mark! They are always cheaper than other shops without sacrificing quality, and i'd know as I worked for another repair shop in the past. They focus on the issue you are there for and will let you know about other issues with the car but don't try to "upsell" or pressure you into it. Last time I took my car in they didn't even charge me the hour diagnostic time! They told me what it was....very expensive repair no matter where you go ($2000+).... but suggested a cheap alternative (or bandaid so to speak) till I could afford the repair and sent me on my way at no cost!!! Now that is some damn good customer service!!!! I guess thats why I grab a new stack of business cards to give to anyone I know that has car problems every time I leave :) read more

This past weekend, my husband and I were traveling back to Phoenix from San Diego when we ran into car problems just outside of El Centro, CA. Not knowing anyone in the area, we decided to tow our Honda Civic Hybrid to the Honda dealership in El Centro to have them check it out, figuring that they would be pricier than other options, but still trustworthy. We arrived at the dealership service center 90 minutes before closing. An hour later, we were being told that we needed a new engine, which was changed 15 minutes later to we just needed a new short block, which is the lower part of the engine. The dealership told us that there was a value missing, and the cheapest/fastest way to get us on the road again was to replace the short block with a used one, to the tune of $5,800.00!! There was just no way we were going to accept that. We found a hotel for the night and began to form a different plan. We towed the car to Chandler, and once the technicians at AZ Automasters were able to take a look at our vehicle, I received a phone call stating that we did NOT need to replace any part of the engine. I was told that one of three V-Tech valve latch springs broke, which could be replaced for a grand total of $750!! I will tell you, I have never been so happy to hear that I was out $750 in my life! I was also told that my vehicle would be ready to be picked up first thing the following morning. Perfect! Picked up the car this morning and it is running beautifully. I have been a loyal customer of AZ Automasters for over 10 years, and this is a perfect example why. They are trustworthy, affordable, the office staff are friendly, and the work is always done well with quality parts. A friend of mine suggested i try this place out and had nothing but great things to say about it so i figured I would check it out. I was a little leary at first because i have like many others been screwed around by other auto shops in the past..i have been here a few times now and i have to say that they have exceeded my expectations everytime. Honest & friendly service, they dont try to push any unnecessary work on you but will note things that may need to be done in near future. I wouldnt take my car anywhere else. This was my first time trying repair service with this company, and I have to say it was by far the best experience. One always approaches these kinds of things with scepticism, because of the stories we've all heard in the past from people that were lied to, or shady mechanics doing things to ensure a return visit from you. This is NOT the case with AZ Automasters. Friendly, accurate, and honest, these guys took care of me and were the most reasonable for cost of service. Other shops quoted me over $1000 for timing belt replacement, and AZ Automasters came in well below that amount. I had such an amazing experience with these guys! My car broke down on Sunday afternoon, I googled auto shops in the area and found that Arizona Automasters had the best reviews! On Monday morning they towed my car to their shop and found that my ECM needed to be replaced. My father bought this car as a salvaged title and fixed it up and gave it to me, unfortunately he lives in Colorado, so he told the mechanics to try to find a used ECM. To my surprise, they actually called several junkyards to try and find a used part. When they didn't have any luck they gave me options, and encouraged me to call around for a used part and I was able to find one at some sketchy junk yard but after I spoke to the junkyard- they didn't answer their phone! AZ Automasters actually helped me call the junkyard every 5 minutes for several hours. Most shops would have given up, but they wanted to make sure I was satisified with the price, and went above and beyond. Everytime I spoke to someone at AZ Automasters they were very patient and helpful- I have definately found a shop that I trust- and will never go anywhere else! read more

I have never written a Yelp review but learned how to because I am blown away by the service and integrity I received at this auto repair shop -- WOW, THE BEST!! I am a young widow, just moved to Arizona, don't have any family or anyone to guide me to auto repair. I found AZ Automasters by complete chance thru a good Angie's List reveiw and made a call -- the manager Chris answered, gave me his total attention, some history of AZ Automasters (in business in this location for over 18 years which says alot!) and listened to every concern I had -- I needed new engine for 2005 Suburban ad Utah car dealership I purchased it from would be replacing it under warranty and would ship to whomever I chose to do service in Arizona -- so AZ Automasters wasn't even going to make a huge profit on my repair but Chris still treated me like a VIP customer -- he made the entire repair process seamless, worked with the Utah dealer directly to receive the engine, had it done in time promised (literally one day from engine arrival!) and work was perfect!! My A/C also needed repair which AZ Automasters completed at same time, at totally competitive rates to any shop in valley! Fast forward 4 months... my Surburban alternator went bad (yes, its old truck and probably buying it not my best decision but I've learned a lot since losing my husband and doing these things on my own!). So I took it into AZ Automasters again, Chris remembered me personally by name, sat down to discuss repair costs and instead of trying to take my money, suggested maybe it was time for a new vehicle. I could not believe his honesty and concern for my budget and my girls and me being in a safe vehicle. I spent next 2 weeks car shopping and decided to buy a brand new minivan. Much to my surprise, I got a random call from Chris at AZ Automasters, he just wanted to make sure I was ok, able to find a new vehicle before my Suburban broke down completely, and that my girls and I were safe on the road. I told Chris I had purchases a new car but I really felt uncomfortable with the deal I made and the new monthly payment I committed to -- I felt like a dumb blonde woman with a target on my head they could see coming a mile away, so inexperienced with stuff my husband used to handle! Chris, for no gain to himself or his shop, told me he would reach out to some contacts he had -- he was able to get the manager of the dealership (a huge well-known dealership who I will leave nameless) who finally agreed to let me come back TWO WEEKS after taking possession of a brand new 2016 minivan, get out of the deal (which really was a bad deal for me, due to less than great credit after my husband's death) and get my old suburban back -- crazy as that sounds, when I put all the numbers on paper, because I had an extended warranty, I decided it might be to my benefit to do repair work rather than buy a new car. Chris had no idea this would be the end result, he just thought he was helping ensure I got a fair deal at a car dealership -- he had no idea he would ever see me again or in the near future. Well he did see me again -- in fact without even calling, I took my Suburban and dropped it off that night at AZ Automasters, left the key in the dropbox with a note that I needed the repairs done and a copy of my extended warranty. Chris called me personally the next morning and told me he would work with the extended warranty people and do his best to get everything possible covered -- I wasn't sure if that after-market warranty was even going to pan-out but sure enough it did and Chris made it completely effortless on my part, not to mention expedient!! He knew I had to pay for a rental car at my own expense while my Suburban was in the shop being repaired so even without any prior warning or appointment, he got my Suburban repairs completed in ONE day!! And not because they don't have any other business -- let me tell you, his desk is full of customer paperwork, the phone ringing off the hook and their lot full of vehicles to be serviced -- they are busy, busy, busy!! But amazing how they are willing to bend over backwards and make customers happy, simply because they care!! My old Suburban has never run better, completely repaired and on the road again -- truthfully even though it's older than the new minivan I almost bought, I realize it's got a lot more bells and whistles and I'm really happy to have it back!! Chris got almost all of it covered with my after-market warranty; the remainder at most competitive repair rates anywhere in the valley!! I asked to speak to the owner of AZ Automasters to tell him how impressed I was with Chris and their customer service -- the fella I met was a genuinely down-to-earth, kind, considerate family man who clearly values his customers and long-term business reputation over a quick one-time profit. AZ AutoMasters in Chandler is an hour drive for me but I would make it over and over anytime I need car repair!! THE BEST!! read more

After having gone to another shop to get my oil changed I found that I could no longer go in reverse. Because I thought my transmission had broken I drove to AZ Automasters because I could walk home from there. It turns out the other shop had put on my emergency brake and never took it off. Suddenly, instead of a transmission replacement which would have cost me $2000, I was looking at a much lower bill for other repairs. Thank you AZ Automasters, for being honest, and saving me money. They could have taken advantage of me, but they didn't. They also have stellar customer service, and a nice waiting room. Az Automasters will have my business for a long time to come. read more

Although I agree with allot of other reviews about this place being clean, offering alternatives like rebuilt parts for repairs and so on, in the last 6 months their prices have gone up AT LEAST 10%, they no longer offer any coupons to returning customers, NOT even on oil changes and they've hired a lady for the front office. So it seems that their success was gained at the cost to their customers. I too have gotten quotes from them on services that I can find elsewhere for on average 15% less. Lastly, the owner needs to stay AWAY from the customers. I needed a ride to and from their shop about 6 months ago, which, by the way they advertise as a "free" service. I LIVE LESS THAN 2 MILES AWAY FROM THE SHOP. When I was at the desk paying for my repairs, he had to add, very sarcastically, that they had given me the FREE rides. Maybe that's why they hired the woman for the front desk. Personally, Jim was much more knowledgeable and a better CSR. read more

I First looked them up on google, I called and had to wait for someone to get back to me with a quote on replacing my rear shocks. The gal that called me back was Jesse. She told me $160 out the door no tax or anything else. I then asked her again since I have never heard of a auto repair shop having an even price like that. So I go on Saturday at my scheduled appointment time 10am. They didn't get the car right back there at 10 so I walked to the store and got some things and returned. I noticed the car was gone at this point, I then waited for my car to be completed. Shortly afterwards I hear my car coming test drive I assume there's a huge dip at there business where I would normally slow down to about .5 MPH to get onto the street Venus. Next thing I see is their mechinacs hot rodding my mustang GT like he owns it down that dip scrapping my front end up then flooring it down the street. I can hear it because the door was open and I have loud dual exhaust on my Mustang. The car comes back around 5 minutes later, another 5 minutes go by for the front desk people called my name and told me the car is ready. The first thing is they tried charging me a way different price then I was quoted by Jesse, then I go out to get in my car and my seat is busted. IT is literally sitting on the back seat. I went into the building enraged at this point. So not only did they try to rip me off they busted my seat. I lost it at this point when they told me the bolts must have been lose. I am 5ft 6in my seat was all the back and the back redt touching my back seat, I told them I drive all over like that. I couldn't even touch the damn pedals. Then they are going to have the nerve to cop an attitude with me about fixing after they tried hiding it from me. YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND. I am not going to lie yes I was swearing at them and carrying on, but they tried ripping me off, then they weren't going to tell me about my seat like I wasn't going to notice.
