Mike sent several apologies and went above and beyond what most business owners would do in a situation such as this. - He refunded me for the missed alignment and the cost of the new tire. To find this kind of honesty is rare and it proves that he operates his business with integrity. Knowing this, I would not hesitate to bring my vehicle directly to Mike in the future if need be. Mistakes happen, and he was quick to correct it. Thank you, Mike! ********************************************************* My husband brought my car over to AZ Automasters in February of 2024. We had never been there before, but I had just had new control arms and ball joints put in and since the tires were also brand new, my mechanic who did that work recommended an alignment. AZ Automasters kept the car overnight and my husband picked it up the following day. My husband stated that he asked the employees if the alignment was off and by how much, and that no one could answer his questions or seemed to "know anything about anything." But he did say that the employees working the morning he picked it up were not the same ones who were working when he dropped it off. He didn't leave feeling super confident but they said the car was done so he left and that was that. This car is kept in a garage, has not been in any accidents, hit any curbs or anything of that nature, and is well loved. I have put 8000 miles on the vehicle since the alignment. The other day we realized that the tires should probably be rotated and were horrified to notice that the outside of the passenger front tire was completely bald, the inside of the tire barely worn. We went over to where we purchased the tires as they are warranteed to 80,000 miles, but because they deemed it an "alignment issue", I had to purchase a brand new tire out of pocket. Not only did I waste $118.00 at AZ Automasters as they did not complete the alignment I paid for, I'm out an additional $145 for a new tire and still need to get the car aligned. I'll certainly be getting alignment, but it won't be at AZ Automasters. *Edit* I just had a front end alignment at a reputable shop where the employees actually care about their customers. They had to take a torch to the tie-rod jam nuts as they were totally locked up on both sides. This would NOT have had to be done had AZ Automasters done the work they were paid to do a year and a half ago. Also, this shop, who did the alignment using lasers, was able to show us via computer what they adjusted and how much, which AZ Automasters could not do for us. And this new place was cheaper! I dropped my car off to replace my transmission and engine mount on a Friday and it was done by Monday. Great and rapid service.

Have to adjust my rating... I've had hit and miss lately. On the plus side, friendly, they will accept customers supplied parts, and they work Saturdays. On the negative side, they did some work on my car a month ago and someone either left my driver's side window open during rain showers or they sprayed water inside the car: when I got my car, there was a sloshing sound... I figured out is was a huge amount of water under the carpet both in front and in back of my seat. I had to cut my carpet to get the water out. And the last time I needed work, they replaced a part, but after the work my car was not functioning the same, which is leading me to get more, and more expensive, work done now. They are convenient, but I am going to be much more selective about the work I use them for. read more

My husband and I were extremely satisfied with the service and pricing AZ Automasters offered. My husband suspected the bearing in his truck's clutch was failing so he requested quotes on yelp and called around to some local transmission shops to get an idea what it would cost to replace his truck's clutch kit, which retails at an auto parts store for around $250 and probably takes around 5 to 6 hrs to replace. Every last place came back either quoting $1,200 and up, or saying they could not give him a quote until he brought his truck in for a full "diagnostic" (there should be an option on Yelp to flag shops that fail to provide a quote.) AZ Automasters was the only shop that delivered a competitive quote and matched the quote they gave following the repair. The truck runs great and we're happy to know we found a neighborhood auto shop we can trust. read more

I made appointment 10 days in advance to have upper and lower radiator hoses replaced. Appointment was for 9am I dropped off car at 8:15 am it wasn't ready until 4:20pm. Had an aggravating and near constant knocking noise in my front end that was driving me crazy - no matter how slow I would drive, knocking noise was generated at even the slightest ridge or bump in the road. It appeared to be coming from my suspension. My regular mechanic charged me $75 to put on a lift and diagnose, which they said was a broken front strut mount that needed replacing. But their price was ridiculous and they wanted to add on additional unnecessary maintenance. After researching local auto repair shops I found a reasonable and fair price here. I appreciated manager Jessica D's patient guidance and mechanical explanations during my research. Seemed they were in business to make a living, not a killing, off of their customers. Az Automasters confirmed my front strut mount needed replacement. Repair effort, time and cost estimates were accurate. While the repair was needed, it unfortunately didn't resolve my 'noise' issue. They advised that my sway bars should also be replaced. I authorized that work the following week, and while awaiting completion, Richard came into the room and explained that they had replaced the sway bars, but not all noise was addressed. He then said they investigated deeper and found another issue in the steering column connections, which after tightening, totally resolved the knocking sound. Since that was the primary cause of the noise, Richard offered, without any prompting from me, to remove the just-installed sway bars and not charge me for the additional work to tighten the steering component. I thought that was honest and what any customer would have hoped for. It showed their true colors as a fair and honest operation. I left the new sway bars in place as I had over 125K miles and research showed it was soon time to replace anyway. My vehicle now rides perfectly, without any annoying noise from the front end. My Mini Cooper had its Service Engine Light on, I had procrastinated until the last week of my registration, and desperately took it here. I had four OBD Codes. Two 02 sensors, Evap Emissions leak and Transmission (which originally AAMCO said was my shift solenoids were being clogged up from shift plates wearing). The first day they called me, they said I had a bad Bank 2 O2 sensor. They told me the technician heard my wheel bearing was making noise but checked it and said it had some play but wasn't loose and gave it the okay to drive on just to be weary of it in the future. They also mentioned I had a fuel leak, but needed to find it. I gave them the okay to replace the 02 sensor. To my surprise, they told me the transmission was fine and no codes. They were confused and asked who told me about the shift plates, because a CVT doesn't have gears that shift. They explained it has two pulleys that change diameter to create different ratios. So don't go to AAMCO in Aracdia, they tried to sell me on a rebuild or at least change shift solenoids. The next day they called and said the O2 sensor was replaced and that they found the leak, it was basically under my rear seat at the fuel assembly that holds the fuel filter in the saddle tank. I was kinda confused so Richard (sorry if I messed his name up) told me to come over to look so I did. Thing was a mini geyser. Explained why I never knew why my fuel was leaking. I gave the okay to the repair, which he ordered from the factory and it was cheaper than the aftermarket. They replaced it the next morning and by the time I got off from work it was already done. Richard gave the keys back, answered all my doubts questions and concerns. They don't like to BS around, he told me the light could come back for the evap leak because of how it's designed it might be until the next day to know because of a tiny pin hole leak that neither they could test or see without keeping my car away from me and chase something they may not exist. So today, check engine light is still off and I passed my emissions a couple hours ago. This is where you want to take you car. I don't recommend finding the lowest price. Pay for the quality and assurance these guys give. Whatever anyone says negatively, that's because of their lack of understanding and high expectations. Doctors can't always find the best treatment right away and more times than none make the wrong diagnosis, why should mechanics be held differently? read more
