They did everything they could on their end to rush the process from my warranty (they are the ones at fault that took too long for the parts to get there). I recently had a rough time dealing with transmission issues on my car. I've never gone through anything like this before, and I'm definitely not a "car person," so I rely heavily on shops to be honest and straightforward with me. I first took my vehicle to another service center. They charged me hundreds of dollars for a diagnostic and kept my car for two full days, even though I had an appointment and was told it would be quick. After all that, they simply told me, "Yep, it's the transmission," and quoted me over $8,000 for the replacement and a few hundred more for diagnostics and fees. That was absolutely not happening - especially with how expensive everything is these days. After calling five other places in the Chandler area, I reached Arizona Reliable Transmission. I explained what was going on and that I likely needed a new or remanufactured CVT. Based on the information I gave them, they quoted me a fair price right away, and I accepted. They asked if the car was drivable. I told them I was unsure I had only driven it very short distance after the main issue happened also their location is quite a way from the other shop. Without hesitation, they said they would send their tow driver to pick it up, bring it to their shop, and inspect it - at no extra cost. They explained that they will offer this as a courtesy for my situation. Truly great guys to work with they made it a very easy process! They also took a moment and inspected my brakes as they noticed the wear on them and offered to do a discounted add on for replacement on those and rotors as well, however I am currently tapped out on car repair funds so I had to decline the offer and do that myself but the fact that they took the time and had the care to send me photos un-prompted to notify me of the need to be replaced that was an added touch that sets them apart. (The other shop I had gone to first which starts with a G and ends with a CH told me my brakes and rotors that were grinding and a little squeeky were great no need for replacement... they made sure not to add that onto any invoice though because of liability as I tried to dispute with BBB and their parent company found a work around on that...) They got my car fixed up, and I have no complaints so far. It's been about two weeks, and I'm going in for my transmission checkup this weekend. I was even given a 3-year warranty on the parts they replaced - as of now, I can confidently say that for me as of now the best transmission shop in Chandler is Arizona Reliable Transmission! read more

I called another shop who said to bring my truck into their shop and they could get to it in about 3 days. Oh where do I even start? I really tried to give these guys the benefit of the doubt and trust them to do a good job. As it turns out, the owner has only been in business for about 3 years, and while he claims that he has years of transmission repair experience, prior to this business, he doesn't seem to have a lick of business sense. Now he's not the one who worked on my transmission; it was an employee of his. But it's still his responsibility to make sure his customers are happy. All I can say is that my vehicle (2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser) came in for repairs, due to slippage. These guys supposedly did a complete rebuild of my transmission, but it doesn't feel like it whatsoever. It drives rough, doesn't shift when it's supposed to, doesn't have any balls when I try to pass people on the highway, or even on the city streets. It shift's extremely rough, and the throttle response is either delayed or nonexistent at times. The owner claims that it drives perfectly, without having any real sense of how it drove before taking it to them. Sometimes I have a hard time not believing that that they just didn't do what they said they were going to do, which is kind of my biggest fear in relying on mechanical shops to do work on my vehicle. Not only did it cost over $4300, but I don't feel like it was worth the value. I went on a trip up to Northern Arizona, with a buddy a couple weeks ago, and my FJ had a hard time passing 18 wheelers up the big hills to and from Phoenix. It had no balls, no passing gears, and just didn't shift when it was supposed to. My buddy even mentioned it, as he was driving it part of the way back to Phoenix. The only two things I can think of is that either my vehicle had a performance shift kit in it, which they took out when they rebuilt the transmission, and just didn't tell me - or - they just didn't do what they claimed they did. The owner claims it runs as it's supposed to and that they did a "good job", but I've owned this truck since July of 2015 and I know how my vehicle is supposed to drive. I'm a 20 year retired Army veteran and I take my ethical values seriously. I'm a man of integrity. I don't intentionally create drama when it's not needed. I usually like to take people at their word, and move on, but this business is unprofessional and shoddy at best. I do not recommend you take your vehicle to this shop whatsoever. I even told him that if they can fix the issues on my vehicle, that I would still give them a good review. The owner didn't even make any attempt at trying to make me happy. After $4300, I feel taken advantage of and ripped off. Do yourselves a favor and take your vehicle to a well researched shop, with decades of experience. I took my FJ in to them on the 10th of May and I'm only now giving a review because I was really hoping that the vehicles computer and transmission just needed a bit of time for itself to workout the kinks, but here I am over two months later and I'm still having the same issues with it. As a regular consumer, it's difficult to quantify or prove my issues, as I don't have the required equipment to have tested the FJ's performance data, before and after the rebuild. This was a very expensive mistake and now I'm thinking I just may have to trade it in for something that drives/performs better/smoother. Of course this is not the best time in the economy to trade a vehicle in. I hope this helps some of you out. Just beware of shyster businesses, who only care about profits, or have no idea how to run a business, and make their customers happy. By the way, I have an 18 month warranty on this "rebuild" and with the experience I've had with them these past two months, I don't believe they'd deliver on that promise, if my transmission has major issues, above and beyond what's already going on with it. read more

THE PLACE for your transmission needs! Sean and his team are seriously amazing and honest. Back at home in California I have my own project cars and tools in my garage, but out here I was pretty stuck when I needed a new clutch installed (my car could barely move anymore with the existing clutch). Transmissions are a serious mystery box and can be a real pain to deal with. My car started off at another shop here in Chandler that I caught straight up lying regarding cost and what the OEM parts were for the car. I had heard AZ Reliable was honest so I had my car towed over and was very happy with Sean right out the gates. I brought in an 07 Altima that needed and clutch kit installed. While in there, they found out my flywheel and starter were pretty much destroyed (showed me pics) so I was able to get them those parts to toss in while they had it opened up. The car is buttoned up and works perfectly again. Had such a great experience that I'm bringing my 01 Trooper in which is having shifting issues. AVOID. THIS. PLACE. LIKE THE PLAGUE. These guys are shady AF. I heard the sound of a "clink" of metal hitting the street when I was driving one night, and then it was more difficult to shift into gear with my manual transmission. I immediately thought transmission problem and sought out a specialist. Other than the shifting, there were no other problems or sounds with my car. It drove normally after the initial break. I searched online, very briefly, and found AZ "reliable" transmission, who offered to have the car towed for free and do a free diagnosis. Then they informed me that it was the clutch. The smart thing for me to do at that point would've been to say "okay, never mind, don't touch the car. I'll be in to pick it up" and bring it to the mechanic I trusted to fix the clutch, since it did not require a transmission specialist. Instead I let "reliable" transmission do the job. I figured I would give them the chance to do the job. Maybe I would find a quality transmission shop for when I needed it at a later time. That was a massively bad decision, not only because they overcharged (approximately $2250) but because when I got the car back, I now had a broken catalytic converter. When I picked up my car and left their shop there was a new noise, never heard or made before by my car. I turned around and brought the car right back to "reliable transmission" two minutes after I left. I said "hey, my car is making a new noise". The guy from the shop got in and we went for a drive. He pretended he didn't hear anything, even though anyone with an ear towards car problems would've heard the unmistakable noise of what sounded like an old Volkswagen from the 70's. So I bring the car to my regular mechanic and we go for a drive and he immediately says "yeah that's an exhaust problem, and you can smell it". The diagnosis comes back, damaged catalytic converter. Needs to be replaced. Now that I have a quote I go back to "reliable" transmission, and tell them that I have a damaged cat, and it happened at their shop, how are you going to make it right? Guess what they said. They denied any responsibility. Considering that there was no exhaust sound the last time I drove my car (when the clutch broke) and the car was driving normally once in gear, that leaves two possibilities. 1. When they were pulling all that stuff off to access my clutch, they damaged the catalytic converter. 2. The catalytic converter just happened break itself at the exact same time and place that they were working on it. Option 2 is obviously ridiculous, and I told "reliable" as much when I went back and told them I wanted them to cover the cost of the fix. So they put the car up on the lift, and show me a crack, or more like a gap at the joint with the cat, and they say "that's a factory flaw, a defect". As if it just defected itself when it was under their care, custody and control. The guy told me that I "can just bring it to a muffler shop and they can weld that for 40 bucks". He gave me the name of "his guy". Yeah right, not going to "your guy". But I did take the advice of going to a muffler shop, to get a second opinion separate and apart from my primary mechanic, to see if you could really just weld that shut. Well the answer is, you don't know what else is broken in there. It looks like it was damaged. If you just weld it shut it doesn't mean you're fixing the problem. You could just be welding it closed over a damaged cat. So second opinion also says the same thing my primary mechanic says, need to replace the damaged cat. These guys at "reliable" transmission are complete BS artists. The guy at the counter who took my initial call started telling me that I said things I never said. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS. AND DO NOT EVER BRING YOUR CAR HERE. I gave them the opportunity to do the right thing, to resolve the situation but they chose to just try to BS their way through it. These guys owe me the cost of the catalytic converter replacement. Waiting for your call and a big fat credit from the clutch job for the exact amount of the cat repair. read more
