She provided several resources for me to utilize in between then and our follow up appointment. As a new mom just days away from returning to work full time I was seriously stressing about my baby bottle feeding. Unfortunately he had a severe tongue and lip tie that was diagnosed late, and was still recovering and refusing to bottle feed. I am so pleased to write a review Thank God I booked for a lactation consultant with AZ Breastfed Babies!!! I had my son 12/7/21. He struggled with putting on weight after birth. This is my 5th child, and I thought breastfeeding would be easy as it has been with my previous children. I was scared and devastated after his 2 week follow up when the pediatrician told me to formula feed since he was still discharge weight. After a good cry, I booked Sanni for an in home visit. She was punctual, presentable- and most importantly very kind on her arrival. I felt so confident and supported after our first visit! I was told by a few women that breastfeeding is hard during my pregnancy especially as a first time mom. Now that my daughter is born, I realized that they were right! It's soooo fricken hard!! The first few days after she was born was the worse. I checked Yelp for a lactation consultant and found Amey. I texted her late at night around 9 or 10p and she responded and came to see me the very next day. She wasn't cheap but you can use your FSA or HSA funds to pay for her services. She spent an hour and a half getting me comfortable with breastfeeding and showed me products I can use to help me. Since then, she's sent me follow up texts to make sure I'm doing ok and when I had an issue a few days after our appointment, she got back to me right away. My son,Hayden, and I had several consults with Erin and we both loved our time with her! Hayden was a great eater but at about 3 weeks I noticed that he would have at least one hood puke after a feed a day, more than just baby spit up, and although he was gaining weight like crazy I decided to schedule a consult just to make sure we were setting ourselves up for a successful BF journey. Erin did a very thorough eval on Hayden after watching a feed and we found a lip (it was very apparent) and posterior tongue tie. Since he was latching fairly well and gaining weight we decided to wait and see how he grew and if we could give him the tools to work around it. Although he did great we elected for a release which Erin talked us through even before our consult and gave us the tools to be Successful after. If it weren't for Amey I would not have had the opportunity to breastfeed my son. He was a NICU baby and I was told numerous times that he wouldn't be able to latch. I was hesistant to spend the money on a help because I knew I was capable of successfully breastfeeding. However, I only successfully breastfed with a shield and I did not want that to be my experience this time around. Finicking with a shield day and night for a year was not what I wanted. So, I bit the bullet and scheduled a consult with Erin. She was great! She made me super comfortable and was able to help me get a latch. Ever since the consult I've been successfully feeding shield free. Also, I discovered the sizing of my pumping flanges were way too big. I saw Amey when I had my son almost 3 years ago and knew I had to call her when my daughter was born. My daughter was losing more weight than we were comfortable with right after birth and I was panicked. Amey immediately gave me a huge sense of calm and confidence. Amey is so awesome! I believe without her help, I would have given up breastfeeding after the first couple of weeks. First of all, it so helpful when you're overwhelmed with a new baby and everything that Amey comes to your house. During her first visit to my home, she was able to see that my baby had a slight tongue tie, torticolis (tightening in her neck and shoulder on one side), and also some head flattening on that same side because of the way she laid in utero - all of these things created breastfeeding issues for my little one. (I had met with an LC at the hospital, but she never mentioned any of these things being the possible reasons for why we were having trouble right off the bat.). By the time Amey left that first day, baby was breastfeeding pretty well with a nipple shield, which was a huge improvement. Long story short, we had the tongue tie revised and baby is going through physical therapy for the other issues and we're all doing 100% better. It's been a process for sure and each day has gotten better, but without Amey's help I don't think I would still be breastfeeding my baby. Amey also offers a wonderful 0-9 month breastfeeding mommy and baby support group every Wednesday. It's SO nice to go and weigh your baby, do pre and post feed weighs, and best of all, talk through general new mom stuff (the good and the not so fun) with the other moms! read more

The short of this is I don't think I would have been as successful or as confident breastfeeding without the help of Amey.
