Erin at AZ breastfed babies is the fourth lactation consultant we have seen for our newborn (others were from different places) and after our appointment with Erin we had the best results! I was FINALLY able to get my baby to nurse at home after seeing her and was beyond elated as I had not once been successful at home before this. She gave less complicated techniques that worked for me and she has a messaging system that I have used - she's so responsive. The office is also so cute and clean! I have an appointment with a different consultant next week that will visit our home. Also - Erin did not say the only way to latch was to get a tongue tie procedure like others. I have have a few in home consults with Lauren N. and a virtual meeting with the company's owner. They are all genuinely interested in helping us women in our breastfeeding journey. Aida is wonderful. I had a previously negative experience with a different valley lactation consultant and was looking for someone I could have an honest conversation with about the current state of my breastfeeding and pumping journey. I chose to have Aida come to my home which I highly recommend. It is so helpful to review techniques and such in your own home. Aida was professional and friendly. She helped me try new positions, worked on refitting me for my breast pump, and even helped me identify new parts to order that ultimately improved my pumping experiences. She also helped me put together a plan for when I return to work and to get comfortable with increasing my supply. She was also readily available afterwards via spruce chat for all my questions. I first heard about AZBFB through my sister who had Amy consult her. She had nothing but rave compliments and so I called to schedule a consult. I got booked with Sanni as Amy is no longer really doing consults. I was willing to give Sanni a try and I'm so glad I did because she was wonderful. I had a very traumatic early 4th trimester and Sanni really helped me develop tools to cope and get past issues around it to help my baby sleep better and me feed better. Also she made sure to provide me the resources to get my consultations covered by my insurance company when I was told by my insurance they didn't cover it... they do and they did! If it wasn't for her telling me to just apply anyway I would've paid out of pocket. She had great info/resources for me and helped me to not feel overwhelmed. What an incredible resource AZ Breastfed Babies has been! My baby is only a week and a few days old and I already can't speak higher of this company. My husband and I took one of their free breastfeeding classes before baby was here and that truly helped set us up for success with breastfeeding when baby was here. My husband remembered more from the class than I did which has been awesome! Then we had one of the consultants drive to our house a few days after birth to confirm if we were doing things correctly and if baby was getting enough milk. She was fabulous, and even weighed baby before and after a feeding to confirm he was indeed eating enough. They continue to send me resources for various things that have been so helpful. I love that I can even video call them if I need and that I have access to chat with them through an app! I also live near one of their office locations and look forward to bringing baby there if needed and then being apart of their support group at that office in the future. AZ Breastfed Babies came highly recommended via a local moms group after I expressed I was having challenges latching my firstborn. Latching was painful and at her two week check up she was not gaining weight. As a first time mom, I felt like I was failing my child. I was nervous to ask for help but I am so glad I did. After reaching out, AZ Breastfed Babies got me scheduled very quickly with IBCLC Lauren. Lauren worked with us for about 6 weeks. Lauren was incredibly knowledgeable and identified that my child had lip, tongue, and buccal ties. She also identified a head turning preference and body tension to which she recommended having body work done. After each appointment, she followed up with detailed instructions and videos conveniently through a secure patient portal app. This made is very easy to reflect back on what we worked on and allowed me to seamlessly practice the new breastfeeding techniques at home. Lauren taught me how to effectively latch my child even with her oral ties that made it nearly impossible. Had she not worked with me on this, I would have certainly given up on the breastfeeding journey within weeks after giving birth. Lauren helped to prepare us before having the oral ties released and empowered us with knowledge on what to expect and how to prepare. When our baby was born he was diagnosed with a tongue tie right away. My OB suggested I see a lactation consultant after getting his tongue tie clipped but now looking back I wish I would've gone before. Lauren at the west valley location is incredible. She helped me with different positions, she connected with our baby, you can she genuinely wanted what was best for him. She got us connected to a chiropractor and a facility that does a laser for their tongue ties instead of scissors (my first mistake but you live and you learn). Lauren was with us every step of the way and always made me feel super comfortable and was always available when I needed help. Truly I do not know what I would've done without her. Our son is doing well after getting his tongue tie taken care of with a laser and is progressing well. Although we have graduated and are happy about that we are sad we won't see Lauren as much.
