Title: Overpriced & Problem Unresolved - Very Disappointing Experience I called AZ Preferred Plumbing because my AC was freezing up outside and shutting off at night. Since they were nearby, I expected quick and professional help. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The technician replaced the contactor and capacitor, which did not fix the issue. In the process, he blew the fuse and spent hours troubleshooting before finally replacing it to get the AC running again. Despite the core issue being unresolved, I was charged $650 for this visit. The next day, he returned with another technician. After more time spent, neither of them could resolve the problem and ultimately told me I needed to call an AC specialist instead. In other words, they admitted they could not fix the issue after already taking my money. I reached out multiple times requesting at least a partial refund, but never received a response. Bottom line: I paid $650 for work that did not address the actual problem. The technicians left me with the same issue I started with, and the company ignored my follow-up attempts. Very unprofessional and disappointing -- I would not recommend them. read more

Our hall bath shower handle broke off on our son and water could not be shut off at the valve. We noticed the cartridge stem just turned and turned without actually changing the water flow. When I tried to remove the cartridge, it broke off in my hand. It was the 21 year old original Moen. So we got good value! Luckily, I called AZ preferred around 6:30 pm and Cody was dispatched and immediately went to work. Unfortunately he arrived at 7:50 pm and he had to return the next day to actually replace the cartridge since he did not have the exact part on the van and my local box stores closed at 8:00 pm. He arrived as arranged and replaced the parts. It was not a simple pullout and replace. He had to heat and pry it out piece by piece-completely disintegrating inside the copper housing. If it had not broke off when I tried to replace it myself he mentioned the pricing would have been much cheaper. It took him 3x the normal amount of time because of my I'll fated attempt. He was professional knowledgeable and also quite friendly. Ask our pets! We definitely have this company in our contacts for future service. Pricing is what I'd consider competitive although I've never paid anyone to replace a cartridge before. But from conversations with Cody about other services offered , they are in-line with others. plumber was nice and quick with repair. but price was crazy. Charged almost 500 dollars for less then one hour of work and a $10 part! late night service charge was 125 but 345 for one hour of work and 10 part is crazy! And didn't even tell me the cost before repairing. I thought the service charge would at least include an estimate before working on it. if I would have knew price before had I would have kindly said no! called around this morning and asked around for price on what woidk of been for repairs and every plumber said less then 200 for repair! what a rip off! be sure to get estimate before hand! read more

I would never use AZ Preferred again. The nicest thing I can say about them is that there was nothing wrong with the work they did. Work they charged an unreasonable, EXTREMELY high price for, although it did not fix the problem. FYI in Arizona price gouging is not illegal. I will never again not get multiple quotes first, even in an urgent plumbing situation. Hotels and short term rentals are an option. Buyer beware. read more

We had an active leak in our sump pump area, and after calling our home warranty company that referred us to several companies that couldn't come out immediately, we finally were able to get this company to come out quickly. The plumber, if he actually was ,came out, took many pictures of our leak, did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to it, and immediately referred us to EcoDry, a place to dry out damage from plumbing leaks. Why would I want to freaking dry out a plumbing area when there's still an active leak? Bad on me I paid him the $75 he asked for at least 3 times while I my home and had the other company come out 30 minutes later (so quick, should have been red flag number 2). We did not have EcoDry do anything as they require homeowners insurance authorization. They tell you that it's authorized immediately, but it's not. Don't fall for that, as homeowners most likely won't cover it and it will be 1000s of dollars. Long story longer, I had an actual plumber come out and fix the leak and now all is good. I still have that EcoDry place hounding me for their business to fix the area, (and their sister company hounding me to fix the drywall). What plumber would not fix a leak but call someone out to dry up the area? When he was here he saw we had an active leak with water all over the floor. Disgusting. Oh and he did make sure that he got his $75 fee. read more

No very happy with how they handled this job. Paid over $2600 to hook up a stainless steel sink on Feb 26th. It was very poorly done. requested them to come back and fix it. A technician came back to order parts on April 5th unfortunately he has not yet been back to fix. Looks like we're gonna have to find another plumber to finish the job. read more

Is it possible to adore a plumbing company? If so, we do. The object of that hard-earned adoration is AZ Preferred Plumbing. Marat is the skilled technician that they sent to our home. Marat was professional, respectful and on time. He did not charge for the initial quote, while other plumbers try to, as we live relatively far from a major city. In addition, the cost for the work was precisely as stated within the quote. Not only that, the toilet we had installed was an upgrade form the original, and thanks to Marat's advice, we now have more room in the commode than we had before. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this company, and Marat, are. Marat even found other problems that they builder had caused, which we lived with, because not one of the other plumbers we have used over the years were smart enough to see there was a flaw. After Marat located the issue, I reviewed it with him, and I now have another very reasonable quote for a job that we will have done by AZ Preferred Plumbing. This is what doing business is supposed to be like: A prompt response, a guarantee on highly skilled work, all completed on time and for the agreed to price. AZ Preferred Plumbing "fixed" an issue that wasn't broken. When I tried to dispute the charge, the owner was unable to understand the basic logic of troubleshooting, and would not return the money for working on something they shouldn't have touched and for leaving my house with the leak still there, unidentified. OK, for those who want more detail... I was away in Puerto Rico. My husband and I are both disabled with chronic pain and needed some rest, and my household assistant called AZ Preferred Plumbing. My assistant thought the fire suppression system was leaking because there was water dripping from the ceiling near the fire sprinkler head. When the plumber arrived and got on the phone with me, I agreed to the repair he wanted to do on the condition, which I stated plainly, that he must verify the cause of the leak first. He could not touch the fire suppression system because his company does not have that license. So, he placed a shutoff valve to block the water from getting to the fire suppression system. Later, my assistant told me the ceiling was still leaking. When I returned home, I called another plumber who determined that the cause of the leak was actually my AC unit condensation line backed up. I had it fixed. No leak. However, the Preferred Plumbing owner wants me to believe that there were two leaks. Well, there's an easy way to test that. They didn't fix a leak in the fire suppression system as they weren't allowed by law to work on it - they just installed a shutoff valve. Just turn on the valve and see if there is a leak in the fire suppression system. There wasn't, as can be attested to by the fire suppression expert. The leak was never there, and the shutoff valve they installed was useless. Now I'm stuck paying for a useless $950 valve that shouldn't be there, and I paid thousands of dollars to fix the water damage. The owner is trying to mislead me, and is unable to understand the situation. I'm an electrical engineer by degree and have decades of troubleshooting experience, as well as experience with construction and contractors. He is taking exception to the fact that I am disputing this charge too late, but I didn't make it home from Puerto Rico until September, and first disputed the charge in October. I am disabled and in constant pain, and could not catch up with my financial statements until then. All I can say is that I should not have to babysit contractors, and the owner of the company should step up when his employee makes a mistake. read more

I called this morning and they were able to get me in today's schedule. They sent Jason, who was super polite, ruining early, so he called to see if I was ready. He arrived and was nice and also clean, we had just had our carpets cleaned, that was important as I've had other trades in that have had dirty or oily shoes. Jason was able to quickly diagnose our leak and fix it and clean up after himself. He also did a great job explaining the plumbing problem, and showing us where the last plumber had fixed it incorrectly. Jason is our new plumber!! Where do I begin? I can't possibly thank Marat and Cody at AZ Preferred Plumbing enough for saving us from a horrible experience with our home warranty company! We had our hot water heater quit and begin to catch itself on fire and needed a replacement ASAP. Our warranty company referred us to another plumbing company (see my other review) and they attempted to demand payment for items we didn't have and wouldn't return our requests to correct. Our warranty company was also a sad excuse for assistance and after a week of no water we were at the end of our rope. Needed a quote on a leak behind a drywall ceiling. Staff mention that a $69 service fee for estimate which I was ok to authorize. Plumber show up and proceed to mentioned that they can't do estimate because leak is behind wall. I ask plumber to look in the attic to see if AC drain line is plugged, and troubleshoot by turning off water and check the water meter to see if the water line is leaking. He given me a lot of reasons that it would be a waste of time and says that they refer these type of repairs to a restoration company they work with. What? ? ? Didn't they know the leak is behind the drywall to begin with? What a waste of my time and my money. Would have give them 2 stars but add additional stars since they end up charging $49 for the service call. On the positive side, staff was professional and on time. If only staff had listen to customer better, we could have avoided wasting each other's time. And most importantly, I was right all along, it was the AC drain line that was plugged. read more

I do Not Recommend. They came out through the home warranty company 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty regarding a leak on the side of our house. They came hours after their 8-10 am timeframe. They stood around and made an assessment of the leak by looking at the wet rocks on the ground. That's it!! No Shovel -No Nothing!! They told the warranty company it was a leak in the main line. The main line is not covered. After we paid our $70.00 service fee to AZ Preferred and dismissed them, my husband took a shovel to the area and discovered a plumbing elbow from the sprinkler system was the problem!! UGH!!! We will do our best to get our service fee back. My husband took photos to prove the truth of the problem. read more

We had our water heater leaked on Saturday and called around but no one is available to see it on the same day, luckily we found AZ preferred plumbing. Marat answered the phone and came over within few hours. They came by and looked at it and it turned out it was totally broken and need to be replaced. They gave me the quote and since they have it in stock in their truck, I went ahead and replace it. They did the job quick, efficient and very well done. I wish I could give AZ Preferred Plumbing 10 STARS - They are THAT GOOD! We had a leaking water heater and called our home warranty company late on a Saturday afternoon. We didn't expect to hear from anyone until Monday. To my surprise, Sunday morning at 7:45 Mike called and said his technician would be out between 10-noon. I couldn't believe it. Kamil arrived around 10:30 and he took care of the entire job and we had our new water heater and expansion tank installed by early afternoon. The service EXCEEDED ALL OUR EXPECTATIONS and these people couldn't be NICER OR MORE PROFESSIONAL. I called my Home Warranty company to arrange for a plumber to fix a water leak. AZ Preferred was called to come out. They looked at the situation and said they won't be able to fix it since there may be water damage. They said they were calling the warranty company to see if this was covered. They then they left. I expected to here from the warranty company but didn't so I called them. They said AZ Preferred never even tried calling them so obviously they are liars. Then the warranty company sent them out again when they finally tried to fix it. My brother was here and said they had problems lighting the hot water heater and seemed like they were struggling. I was out of town and when I came back it obviously was never even lit. It worked before they touched it. We called them back to come out just to light it and they immediately got very defensive and plain rude. All we wanted was for them to light it and make things right. Nope!! I spoke with Murat most of the time. In addition, he answers ALL phone calls (and returns calls when he said he will) and is an excellent communicator. He gave me a final price over the phone for my small issue (which was the most affordable among 8 or so plumbers I had called) they came TWO DAYS before my scheduled appointment due to an opening they had which was great. Absolutely great experience from a fussy home owner. Called on MLK day with a request for a new Navien tankless hot water heater. Our American Electric Honeywell controller on a tank heater was replaced 3 times in 8 years. Pure crap! Dan was SUPERB!
