The cleanliness and upkeep of the stores have fallen by the wayside, neglect and lack of attention to the presentation of produce department, meat department, and deli department. The produce department has rotting vegetables, and fruits with fruit flies flying around them. Employees move around what is obvious in plain sight, rotting vegetables and fruits without making sure that they are being removed and replaced with fresh vegetables and fruits. The meat department has meat that has lost its freshness! Meaning, a lot of the meat has a brown look around the edges hence the meat has lost its freshness and on the brink of spoiling. This is a Great Concern for me! I used to shop at Vista Market as a preference to other grocery stores, but now I seldom shop there due to the decline of its stores. Lord knows I have shopped at Socorro, Montana, Horizon, Zaragoza, and George Dieter and the common theme that is lacking integrity, pride and managerial leadership. It is sad that the creation that the late Mr. Pena started as a Mom and Pop grocery store has taken a drastic turn for the worse due to the incompetence of those in charge of this Wholesome local business!! I then asked if they had the option to marinate it, they told me it was a charge of $2.50 so I declined, then the young lady told me they'd do it for free (most meat stores do that) so I accepted... well the such marinating was any thing but free, they poured it on the meat in the plastic bag and re-weighed it, so, the total weight went from under 6 pounds to 7.55 pounds, so, they sticked me with almost two extra pounds of this liquid at the same cost of the meat... See the math: 5.8 lbs @ $4.99 = $28.94 (what I would have paid without the "free marinating" 7.55 lbs @ $4.99 = $37.67 after they poured the "marinate" Total up charge for the "free" marinate: $8.73 Yelp asks the public to be kind with business as they are struggling... well, they should realize their customers are as well, so they should be honest and fair as well.

He absolutely refused and became hostile on the phone. I told him I would call my bank, and take to social media so consumers would know who they are dealing with. They kept taunting me and deleting my comments. He posted a sign about bags and posted that on TikTok, then also posted something stating "if you don't know how to handle live seafood, don't buy it". I have lived on the coast for a large part of my life and I'm very familiar with handling seafood. This is incredibly childish and unprofessional.
