By far the best Mexican food in town. The service was very good. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was the margaritas. We were there on a Thursday night and they have a special on them. They were very inconsistent. Mine was syrupy sweet and I couldn't taste any tequila. Same with my husband's. We just had ours on the rocks. My Dad had a frozen margarita and you could definitely taste the tequila. My husband ordered a second one on the rocks and you could taste the tequila that time. All in all they are very unnecessarily sweet, whether there was enough tequila or not. I will definitely return though for the fantastic food and service. read more

We go to Springfield every Friday for my four-year-old daughter's physical therapy and Aztca is one of our favorite stops. I had the Aztca chimichanga and it was delicious, as was my wife's chicken fajitas, which she said were the best thing she's had in four trips. The salsa is also excellent, with a little bit of a sweet flavor to it. The food is awesome, but the staff and the atmosphere is what brings us back. They are always friendly and joking around. It really makes us feel welcome. We hadn't been in a while and had no idea about the expansion. It looks amazing and we are so happy for the owners. We can't wait to go back. read more

Wonderful food and service! We're from KY but we eat here nearly every time we visit Springfield, which is about 2 or 3 times per year.

I have been here about 3 times now, once before they expanded, twice after for work functions. I will say they have improved since expanding.To be honest, I don't get why this place is so popular. They are decent, but over priced. You can get much better, more authentic food in Springfield. They put cheese sauce on everything... They do have good lunch specials, but their dinner menu is way over priced. Their service is somewhat lacking too. Another thing, our booth had exposed electrical wires as sticking out of the wall. We arrived about 5:20 pm on 11-16 and sat in a booth. Only one waitress there and we waited for over 15 minutes for her. She never came to our booth. Took her forever to get drinks for other tables. Stopped in while visiting. Saw it on Yelp and am glad I chose to try it. The place is beautiful, staff friendly, and food amazing. Pork tacos were perfectly marinated and I loved that they give you a lime wedge for each taco and a dish of cilantro to use to your taste. Wish we had a place this good in St. Louis. read more

What food our group had was good, but the choices are a little limited because of no A La Carte or combination meals or sides. The thing I don't like is they don't keep hot sauce on the table and they charge for it if you ask. I don't like everyone sharing the same salsa bowl, two reasons, dripping all over the table and lap plus I like to doctor mine up with hot sauce. Had the most sumptuous veggie quesadilla here, being a vegetarian there are very few places in Springfield to satisfy my cravings. The Choco lava cake just melted in our mouth and The Moscow mule was also utterly delicious. Expensive, poor taste, and false advertising! Tamales are dry and tasteless so to make up for it they smother them in a red chile sauce. The chile rillenos are sweet, when they are not supposed to be!! I wanted to try the menudo and my wife wanted Pozole but with no luck, I was told that the cook didn't feel like making them today, even though the menu says that both items are served on Saturdays only. Not only does azteca have good Mexican food for Springfield, but it was one of the best Mexican dinners I've had anywhere. I had the enchilada dinner and the chicken was so flavorful and good I could've just had that. My husband had the azteca chimichanga and was impressed. It is located in a strip mall next to a grocery store, so at first, I was skeptical. But the dining room was full and the severs were super nice and responsive. The salsa seemed homemade, very fresh and was really tasty. If I'm ever back in Springfield, I'll definitely be back to Azteca. read more

Haven't found a better place yet in Springfield. It is a fairly unassuming reasturant, but the staff is friendly, helpful and accomodating. Their lunch specials are excellently priced and everyintg on the menu is fresh. Even with the current lime shortage they have been liberal with their limes and fair with their price. My menu favorite is the aztca chimichanga. Shrimp tequila is good and the fish tacos are also good. Went tonight, Wednesday, and the place was full except 2 tables. We waited a good 20 minutes for someone to take our order. We finally said something and the waitress said there was a hold on orders, meaning they couldn't take more orders. She explained that there was a large party (7 or 8 people) that had just ordered and there was only 1 cook.
