If you're doing a trip from Vegas to the Grand Canyon, this will be on your route + it lets you avoid the new highway that has tons of potholes where we blew our tire last time and saw manyyy other cars with blown tires. So avoid that and take historic Route 66 instead and pass through this charming town! This is one of many shops on the road but I really liked the items they had here. They had these nostalgic books from every year and in the book you see world news, inventions, tv shows, cars etc from that year. It was super fun to look through and I knew my grandma would love them so I got her one that had things inside that I knew she'd like including her mustang from the 90's that she still has. So we checked out and the owner was so nice she gave all of us business cards despite me being the only one purchasing anything. The business cards are actually really well done and double as a souvenir! It does have the store info on it tiny but it's a cute little license saying you took historic Route 66!

Today, they did just that! I had the steak and egg breakfast and the temp, char and seasonings were perfect. Rest of the family had other items and we all ate 'em up, it was that good. Servers and staff checked on us regularly and had a real pleasant conversation with the proprietor. This man taught his kids well; amazing little family there. The place has great decor for that area and a cool little gift shop. There's not a whole lot of choices in Seligman, but Roadkill Cafe is worth you giving them a try.

Angel and Vilma Delgadillo, Original Owners [Seligman AZ]…read more I wasn't aware of the history of this store and since I had already purchased most of my souvenirs at another gift shop down the street we just took a look inside, formerly Angel's barbershop and pool hall, now a gift shop. Who is Angel Delgadillo? This man was credited for saving Route 66 in Arizona! Yes, wow... I was intrigued about his story! Before I-40 was erected Seligman saw 9,000 vehicles moved through the town every day, stopping at the businesses, restaurants, service stations, and motels in town. When a section of I-40 opened south of town a deathly stillness fell on this main drag. With the expansion of the Interstate 40, there seemed to be no more need for the old road... in 1985, U.S. 66 was officially decertified. Whaat? All signs were taken down and it was removed from maps. So sad! Sorry, you'd have to research the rest of the story yourself on the internet... As we entered the modest shop the interior is quite small and compact inside. It got crowded inside especially with two bus full of tourists!!! We perused the souvenirs and many apparel merchandise for sale. There are t-shirts, magnets, shot glasses, postcards, mugs, and just about anything you might want to collect. To the right is a tiny small space Angel used as his barbershop. After his retirement, the barbershop portion of the shop was converted to a museum, celebrating his and Seligman's legacy on Route 66. It is filled with photos, antiques, and memorabilia, including his antique barber chair with a cardboard cutout of Angel himself. And I made my visit even better by checking out the Route 66 Gift Shop. If I could stay in this town all weekend long, I would. The Delgadillo family is really friendly and so are the other employees that work here. I saw the barber shop chair, the many business cards and license plates. I also learned all about Route 66 history and the Cars filmmakers' visit to this gift shop. More than two-thirds of the items for sale are made in AMERICA. This is one of America's greatest success stories. If you love Route 66 so much please visit this amazing gift shop!

The outside is very eclectic and fits the vibe of the town. Inside is a very small, single room store with limited items. The majority of the goods for sale were records and miniature cars. There were a few glass items and posters as well. The inside had an odd aroma of cigarettes and weed. A small room off the main room had a curtain over the door that was pulled back to reveal a bedroom with mattresses on the floor and crying children. I'm not sure if it doubles as a day care, or a home. It's a small town and a small business, but it honestly was a little frightening and off putting. They were having a "keeping the doors open" sale, so I understand they're struggling. Perhaps a formal door, a deep cleaning, and a more diverse collection of second hand items would draw in tourists who came to tour the quirky town that inspired Cars.
