Not a bad place, but if it's busy walk away and go somewhere else. They work hard to hard. When they get to you they don't have much time to take your order so they rush you through it. I understand that but they tend to ignore you while you wait. I tried to get their attention, because my silverware was dirty with cheese dried in to it. This happens in restaurants that are in a rush to turn tables and get their silverware washed and ready for the next customer not a big when it happens just ask for a new set no problem normally. Ordered the Azteca chowder and the tres amigos plate. Azteca chowder had good flavor but the plate below the bowl had some pieces of shredded lettuce on it, could be some new way of presenting a bowl of soup but felt more like they didn't care to make sure the plate was clean. The tres amigos, it just looked gross. The sauce was slimy on both meats and the chile verde looked like brains. Bartender, shady AF. We asked for 6 shots of silver tequila and the bartender started to rattle off Liquor brands and once he said "Herradura Silver" we asked for this.....In fact...we asked for this 4x. We even looked at each other a little dumbfounded as to why he wouldn't stop suggesting other brands because two of use clearly said "Herradura Silver". The bartender chose to pour and charge us for 6 "ultra"....which takes an 8 dollar 'shot' into the 20 dollar 'sipper' range. We didn't complain because we didn't know what he poured us until we took our shots. I mean, we drank them as shots. They were gone before we knew he had poured sipping tequila. How can we complain? My husband and I came here for lunch over the weekend and were so impressed with the updates to the new location! The restaurant looks much more modern now.. I'm disappointed to see that the rest of the reviewers weren't pleased with the change. I've been a huge Azteca fan for a very long time. But the service and food during this visit beat any other experience I've had while dining at Azteca. From the second we walked into the restaurant my husband and I were warmly greeted and seated right away. Chips salsa and drinks were brought within minutes & the staff continuously checked with us to make sure we didn't need anything and would refill us on chips beverages in a timely matter without having to be asked. The food was delicious and more flavored than I remembered it being. I'm excited for the new location to have officially opened- can't wait to be back soon. read more

The appetizers were brought out after our entrees. Any time we asked our server for basic things like napkins and silverware she acted like it was a complete inconvenience to her. And then to top it off, a few days later we got our credit card charge and she added an additional tip to what we had given. DO NOT GO TO FEDERAL WAY AZTECA. Been going to Azteca for 20+ years, following them to all 3 Federal Way locations. Always good food and friendly service. Because this new location is in a strip mall, it might not look as large or nice as previous locations. BUT, we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. It is warm, clean, well-decorated environment and the staff is friendly as always. To us, it was very inviting. I love the spinach enchiladas and the carne asada (the carne asada is pricy $26, but all restaurants are higher priced now). Even though it may not be considered the most authentic Mexican food, it is always delicious and the atmosphere is quite nice. I still recommend Azteca after all these years. read more

We loved this restaurant as it was a wonderful date night or family restaurant. Unfortunately they have recently increased the prices for all their food items. The steak fajita that used to be $16 is now $6 more expensive at $22 and the same goes for all the other items. Now if there were changes made in proportion or ingredients to validate the increased cost to the customer that would be understandable but you get the exact same everything for the increased cost. It was very awkward for us to have ordered our drinks just to find out the menu was more expensive for the exact same food. Note that the service is still wonderful (I was able to validate tipping our amazing server 25%), the manager is still friendly, the food is exactly as good as it used to be, and the place is still clean. If you can validate spending more money just because they chose to increase the prices and pass their financial burden onto the customer Azteca is still an amazing place for dates or family and I highly recommend it. Unfortunately we will not be going back as I cannot validate paying the increased rates for the exact same food. read more
