    Hawaiian pork tacos.

I stopped in to Azteca for lunch with a few co-workers at twelve noon. There was plenty of seating available but filled up fast for the lunch rush. Even with the room full, service was prompt and attentive throughout. The chips and regular salsa were great and refills were free. The spicy salsa had a great kick to it, too. Everyone's food was delicious and quick coming out of the kitchen. I had the Hawaiian pork tacos after another recommendation on Yelp and it was great! The two tacos were piled high with pork, sauteed bell peppers, and roasted pineapple. The taste wasn't too syrup-y sweet like at other restaurants. We'll definitely be back!

This is a great place to have some solid food. We were seated right away even though they were pretty busy. For a Saturday night I was impressed with how friendly and quick moving the staff were. Our waitress was fantastic. I ordered a peach margarita on the rocks and it was pretty good and very sizeable. The chips and salsa were pretty good. The chips were nice and crispy and salsa had great flavor. I ordered steak fajitas and my husband had some burrito. Due to them being swamped my fajitas weren't sizzling when I got them, but I wasn't concerned because they were crazy busy. The fajitas were good and I was so happy to be able to able to order black beans as a side. My husband also enjoyed his burrito. If I happen to find myself back in town I would absolutely come back!

We got lucky! We were on our way through traveling from Texas and Mexican restaurants can be hit or miss but we decided to try it based on the good reviews and we got lucky! It was delicious! Best rice & beans I've had in a long time! The steak was tender and not over cooked. Salsa and chips were also better than the average place. I'd highly recommend! Sorry I didn't get y'all a good picture. Forgot to take one until we already started eating :)

It's in a strip center but it's still excellent!

Next time I'm in the area I would come back to this restaurant. I can't believe I'm the first person reviewing it. Take a look at all my pictures and my comments there. This restaurant should be 10 times more popular than Ascella.

95 degrees outside and 95 degrees inside. Food had no flavor and was undercooked. We will never go back.

Food was fantastic and cheap. True authentic Mexican. Was in town only a short time and Yelp routed me here. So glad. It was fantastic.

The al pastor is always cooked to perfection, and in my opinion makes some of the best tacos. They also add fresh pineapple bits, onions and cilantro to these tacos. I haven't tried their tacos with any other meats just because the al pastor is so good. I have tried their carnitas meat on other items. Another noteworthy item is their sope, which is always golden and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I always like to get the carnitas on my sope. It's topped with lettuce, tomato, cheese and sour cream. Their homemade salsas finish off every taco and sope perfectly! Lastly, the homemade horchata is a must try. It's so well done here with the perfect amount of vanilla flavor. The customer service is fantastic as well. I always appreciate feeling valued as a customer and served by a polite waitstaff. So far, I have not found better Mexican food/tacos in the Wichita area. A good thing to keep in mind is that they are cash only. So make sure you have cash on you when you visit!

Tonight I ordered what the menu/server represented as a 21-ounce draft beer. When it arrived, I questioned the waitress because the glass did not look anywhere close to 21 ounces. She assured me it was their 21-ounce beer. After I finished it, I ordered a 12-ounce bottle of beer so I could see how much it held and poured it into the same type of glass to get an idea of the actual size. It was obvious there was no way another 9 ounces was going to fit in that glass. The waitress spoke with the owner, she initially said it was glass vendors fault for sending the wrong glasses. Then, she came to our table with one of the glasses filled completely to the rim with water. The owner initially said, "You're telling me you don't think this glass will hold 16 ounces?" I explained that wasn't even the issue -- I had been sold and charged for a 21-ounce beer. She then poured the completely full glass into a measuring cup. It measured 16 ounces -- filled all the way to the rim. So the glass physically holds approximately 16 ounces maximum, yet customers are being sold and charged for a 21-ounce draft in that glass. With a normal pour and room for the head, the actual amount of beer would be even less than 16 ounces. What makes this more concerning is that this isn't my first pricing issue here. On a previous visit, someone in our group ordered a margarita advertised as half price. When I received my bill, it wasn't half price -- it was $1 more than half. When I questioned the waitress, she told me the owner makes them charge it that way. At the time, I let it go. After tonight, I don't consider this a simple mistake. The owner was shown firsthand that a glass they are representing as 21 ounces holds only 16 ounces when filled literally to the rim. I have no problem paying the advertised price for what I order. But if you're charging customers for 21 ounces, they should receive 21 ounces. And if something is advertised as half price, the customer should be charged half price. Customers shouldn't have to measure their drinks or calculate their bill to make sure they are being charged correctly. Mistakes happen. But once the owner personally measures the glass and confirms that it holds only 16 ounces maximum while customers are being charged for 21 ounces, there really isn't any question about the discrepancy. I'm posting the photo because people can see the glass and the 12-ounce bottle for themselves. I don't expect anything for free. I simply expect to receive what I'm paying for and what is advertised. After two separate experiences involving advertised pricing/quantity not matching what I actually received or was charged, I no longer feel comfortable trusting their pricing. If you eat or drink here, check your bill and pay attention to what you're actually getting.

My friend wanted to try this place because she saw they have a vegetarian menu, unlike a lot of Mexican joints. I ordered cheese enchiladas and refried beans. The waiter came out holding our plates with oven mitts and warned us they would be hot, which was strange because my enchiladas ranged from lukewarm to cold depending on which bite of them I was eating. They tasted nice -- in fact I rather liked the sauce -- but the temperature was a turnoff. (I didn't say anything to the staff because I was halfway through before I discovered the *really* cold bits and I didn't want them going to the trouble of remaking the plate.) The refried beans were pretty good but not great. This is a very nice place, clean, festively decorated, with lots of choices on the menu -- but honestly in a town with scores of excellent authentic mom-n-pop Mexican food outlets, it's not a spot I would personally choose to visit again. But if you like Chi-Chi's, Felipe's, and other joints where the fare is more Tex than Mex, this might be your jam. Service, by the way, was EXCELLENT. Very nice people. I hate to leave only three stars but that's my honest appraisal. Your mileage may vary of course.
