Artist from Azerbaijan, call to meet and be visually dazzled by Azzi. This gallery had a grand opening last August but today was my first knowledge of its existence. It's next to a newish French bakery on Pico Bl, half a block from Hillcrest Country Club, where I frequent. I was admiring some of the art on display from the sidewalk, when the gallery owner and artist herself greeted and welcomed Me and Fendi inside. My first impression, I thought she was French and I spoke to her in French. My faux pas, because she is Azerbaijani. She was very informative and had a vibrant demeanor. Most of the art exhibited were created by her. She also features other artists and displays their work for sale. Price ranges were reasonable. While I prefer more abstract art, there were some that really caught my eye. As an Art lover, I recommend a visit and guided tour inside this make-ship gallery, which was probably an office apace converted to Art space. The owner/artist was pleasant and will create an art piece to your color likings. Sometimes it takes a few visits for to really appreciate Art and this gallery space will probably have a unique art piece to visually amaze you. Recommend.

Sip and paint with my love

I personally go there with a certain frequency, to visit the owner, Aziza, and to see what is new.

So when it came time to enroll in summer camps, I searched through the multitude of art camps, almost ignoring Kids Artistic Sense because it is housed in the near-barren Westside Pavillion. I am so glad that I decided instead to go check it out in person. Such a pleasant surprise. A most beautiful (and clean!) facility focused on real art (not piles of papers & craft projects that you don't know what to do with). Other activities like Legos, clay/kinetic sand, even an area for ball play so kids can shake their wiggles out! The most warm & encouraging staff, led by Miss Sandra who truly knew my son after his first visit. We started with a one-day trial on Memorial Day & ended up signing up for 3 weeks of summer camp. (2 of which are already sadly done). My son cannot wait to go back in July for his 3rd week & we are trying to rearrange our schedule to add another week. It is that special! Check out the paintings he is most proud of! And go check it out for yourself :)

They do a great job of letting kids express themselves, and at the same time teaching them about different artists and techniques. We had her birthday party there this year and it was AMAZING. The kids had a ton of fun and created beautiful individual paintings and a group painting. I highly recommend it. The staff were so helpful and made the experience fun for everyone. Many of the parents and kids said how much they enjoyed it. We ordered food Frida's Tacos in the mall and the food was delicious. You can order from any restaurant you choose which is another plus. I can say enough great things about them. :) Aloka 4/6/18 update It's now been two more years and our daughter and son have been going to kids artistic sense. They had so much fun doing camp over spring break. I posted the most recent picture. It's such a flexible option for breaks as you can do the days that work with your scheuxls

Had taken ceramics in college for a whole semester but really could not remember a single thing...so was super excited for this. We got Joy as our teacher for a single session of no frills, basic pottery class and she was great. She was patient and pretty friendly to all of us beginners. Class was super organized. You grab your aprons, your wheel, your slab of clay and watch her demo. You go step by step because some steps will cause you to "lose it all" lol. She explained that their typical classes would allow you to see your clay through from a blob all the way to the firing process which takes several sessions of classes (gotta wait for things to dry etc). There is also a little board with all the firing colors and oxidization/reduction differences which is cool to see it nearly organized. I remember in school there were just huge vats of color hanging around for us to visualize. Afterwards we all helped clean up and labeled our pottery. Entire session was about 2-3 hours. Our bowls will likely be finished in a month after they dip them and fire them up for us. Would totally come back for more classes if they weren't so far... We also had some snacks and drinks some people had brought along but typically I don't think there would be much eating involved...hands are dirty. Theres also a parking lot so parking is handled.

*** 2025 review #9 ***…read more I walk by all the time and finally popped in one day to find out more about the BAC. They offer classes for young and old, with the option for drop-in, 4-week or full 8-week package signup. We attended their Open House that happened to be the next day and enjoyed meeting the staff as well as try out some activities such as coaster painting (ceramics) and creating a vision board. Oh and very much enjoyed the charcuterie board and wine + there was even cake that a staff member brought for someone who mentioned it was her birthdsr

I've been taking the handbuilding pottery class (as opposed to the wheel throwing class which they also offer). The handbuilding classes are taught by an incredible artist named Rob Homsy who is a patient and fun instructor. There is an assortment of people in his classes - all ages and an array of skills. Some of us are total beginners and others could sell their pottery because it's so great. What I especially love about this class is that Rob doesn't do the thing where "this week we're making wind chimes" and that's what the entire class must do. He definitely teaches us all of the basics and suggests what we may want to build, but he also genuinely supports whoever wants to make a giant cup, or an elephant for a gift, or a planter, or whatever one really has their mind set on. I will never be a great potter but I'm having such fun in the classes and working with many nice people. Classes are on a monthly schedule but you can enroll at any point. I take the Tuesday class from 1 PM - 4 PM but they also have an evening class. The phone number is (310) 451-5657 and the link is https://www.brentwoodart.org
