Wonderful BYOB social painting experience with Lisa, who instructed us to paint a cool Starry-Night inspired landscape of Downtown LA. The venue was awesome, a tiny non descript studio on the second floor of a mixed use building along La Brea. When you walk in the walls are painted with the names of previous guests. I loved the small class size -- only 24 people, and probably only 2 empty seats -- which made for a more casual, relaxed environment where it was more natural to talk to your neighbors. I've been to paint nights where there is double the size and it feels like you're in a class and it's hard to see the instructor's painting. Not so here, as the intimate size was great and we could easily follow our instructor's steps and see her work (both in progress and the finished one for reference). It also is fun to see everyone's paintings around you -- surprising how each one is very uniquely different! -- without having to get up and roam the room. The best part of Paint and Sip was that it was bring your own bottle of wine (plastic cups and opener provided), which meant you could truly personalize your experience with your favorite beverage and drink at your leisure without racking up a big booze tab. Many people also brought snacks, cheese, fruits to eat with their wines. Very cozy and welcoming environment! In addition, we also got a free passes to an upcoming advanced film screening with swag -- a nice bonus! I would definitely recommend Paint and Sip!

We had such a wonderful time with Heather. She was amazing and so much fun!!!!! She was so encouraging and made everyone feel like their picture was so beautiful. She wanted each person to be happy with the end results and helped with ideas and techniques. From the time I booked the event to when it was finished everything went smoothly. Brandon's follow-up with me was just perfect. It made our Team Building Day a success!!!!!

I came here with my GF for a date night. We purchased tickets online for the Starry Night by Van Gogh. Since it is a really popular painting, the event did sell out. Thursday nights its 2 for 1 so it is a bargain! The event started at 730pm and my GF and I were running a little late due to traffic. We got there at around 745pm and luckily they were still waiting for some people to arrive. Brandon - the instructor - was really friendly and kind upon arrival. Brandon is a great instructor and very patient. He guides you step by step on how to make your painting look good. If you are a beginner, don't be afraid since the entire class was as well! Brandon checks on everyone and gives detailed step by step instructions. You will be amazed on how well your painting turns out! This event is BYOB. Bring your own wine and Brandon will supply you with clean glasses to sip on - or chug. I also saw some people bringing beer as well. Definitely coming back!

I had the pleasure of visiting paint & sip a few weekends ago. I have seen friends post about paint and sips before. For this particular group outing, it was my sis in laws baby shower and the avenue was actually perfect for the get together. There is a small area in front where the girls set up some food and displays of cute pastries so they are pretty lax and accommodating for your event. We obviously only sipped on non alcoholics, though for myself I should have snuck a bottle of wine, I'm sure some of the other non preggos would have appreciated it haha!! The painting itself looked tough and we were wondering how we would finish in about two and a half hours. Brandon was our instructor and he did a great job of giving us step by step guidelines on how to paint the portrait. He was pretty funny and I was pretty impressed at how well he handled such a big group of us. We had the baby shower on a Sunday afternoon so it actually worked pretty well. Parking is free and I'm sure any other day would be tough to find because of restricted meter hours and anti gridlock zones. The painting ended up being pretty easy to paint with the instructions and it's always cool seeing how everybody creates art differently. Great for big groups and small!

This has got to be one of the best experiences I have had in a long time. The small, 24-artist studio was easy to find and there was plenty of metered street parking. We opted for the $6 lot next to the studio. My party was a group of 10 people celebrating two birthdays. We had two medium-sized trays of food and several bottles of wine ~ oh and two dozen mini cupcakes. Brandon was awesomely accommodating and so very nice to all of us. He's got such a mellow spirit. Not one of us could paint our way out of a paper bag to save our lives. However, with Brandon's kind, patient, gentle and precise instructions, you couldn't TELL us we were not Kara Walker, Georgia O'Keeffe, Frida Kahlo, Grandma Moses...okay...maybe not Grandma...but you get my drift. We painted while listening (and singing) to a wonderfully eclectic soundtrack he had playing. All I can say is that we walked away buzzed...ahem, high, errr - elated on that feeling of accomplishment you get when you do something you never thought you had the talent to do. We still don't have the talent...but Brandon made us look we do. We plan to do this again.

This place is pretty nice. Its BYOB and you can actually relax while enjoy the painting. The music they played was also really nice. The instructor (Brandon) is super friendly and also cares about students. He would walk here and there to pay attention to everyones process. -The parking was street parking, takes my bf a while to find a spot. -They prepare glasses for your wine which is pretty nice I really enjoy the experience. Nice wine, Nice music and Nice painting experience. Noted you might have to book online ahead since popular classes usually got packed easily.

I've attended painting classes here a few times (I have five paintings adorning my walls to prove it) and it's always such an excellent experience. I feel like a pro. As the name implies, you'll be painting and sipping on whatever BYOB that you bring in. The class size is fits 24, assuming it sold out, which is manageable enough for the instructors to go around and talk to everyone. Brandon and Lisa have instructed the classes I've attended and they're so great! They teach with such finesse and they're very helpful with any questions that the students may have. There are different painting options to choose from, so make sure to consult their calendar. Most recently, Lisa was teaching the class an abstract painting from her own repertoire and it was very fun. I think it was less intimidating for the first-time painters to attempt something abstract as the interpretation doesn't have to be so literal. A good ice breaker for those who are inexperienced. Whenever I want to get together with friends, I suggest a paint class. This is such a fun experience to share with friends, a loved one, a date, whomever, because what's more "let loose" than painting while having a few glasses of Cabernet?

This was a great place for my first paint & sip experience! All you have to do is bring a bottle of wine (if you want!), and they provide everything else (cups, art supplies, etc.) Make sure to check the calendar on their website and book a week or two early - some of the classes definitely get booked up before the day of the event! My boyfriend and I came on a Wednesday night, and it was a bit cheaper than coming in for a Friday or Saturday class ($30 each, rather than $40). Our instructor was Magnolia and she kept things fun and provided us with different options in case we wanted to do something a little bit different than the provided example! The painting for that night was one of the Eiffel Tower, and mine turned out a lot better than I expected. All in all, it was a fun experience, and I'd be happy to do it again!

So my first time doing a paint and sip class was the virtual class on Valentines Day 2021. Brandon was great! He gave instructions and followed it up by helping everyone on an individual base as needed. The class (over zoom), was very interactive. The people that attended were great. I was at home, safely sipping on my beverage of choice (Patron), and painting. Here is a tip for the fellas. I booked this as 1 of the Valentines activities during these days we live in with COVID, I in turn got major creativity points. Brandon is a great wing-man! I will definitely take more of the classes with Brandon. The booking from start to finish was great also. I booked, they dropped of my supplies, I showed up on zoom and had the best time. Thanks again Brandon and paint and Sip Studios LA, for helping make my first Valentines with the most beautiful woman in the world a success.

Just fabulous! Brandon was the most engaging and enthusiast instructor you could hope for. You could tell this is his passion and connecting people through art genuinely brings him joy and thats a wonderful thing to witness and connect with. You can see what he is doing perfectly as he puts the finished product next to his blank canvas, both of which are in front of a black backdrop so everything is discernible. I HIGHLY recommend this as an in-house activity and will be taking another course soon!

Don't let your novice artistic skills deter you from experiencing Paint & Sip! At the very last minute, something came up and my friends and I weren't able to attend our class. Fortunately, Brandon was understanding and emailed us individually with a credit toward a future class. On our rescheduled Paint & Sip night, Mindy, our instructor, was great! Despite my non-existent talent, she was patient, detailed in her instruction and made us feel like we could (almost) replicate her painting. Brandon was also there and introduced himself to everyone in the room. I was very impressed with his dedication to delivering outstanding customer service, as well as Mindy's passion for creating art. One tip: There's street parking in the neighborhoods but make sure to leave adequate time to find a spot. TL;DR: Paint & Sip = Fun Times

We merely went to someone's private house, cooked in her kitchen with her, and ate the meal. I was disappointed that it wasn't in a professional kitchen with other students. We were the only students tonight which was kind of nice, but also not so, because after we ate, we felt rushed to leave the house. The food we made was good though for the most part. The appetizer was okay, but not something I would make on my own as it consisted of baking a whole wheel of camembert cheese and topping it with apples sauteed in butter and sugar. It was good though, but not something we would make. Also, the dessert was not something we would make on our own either. We peeled two pears and soaked them in a whole bottle of red wine. My husband and I both felt that it was a waste of a bottle of wine as when you finish cooking it, you just throw away the rest of the wine. The main meal was chicken sauteed in butter and olive oil first then baked in a caste iron skillet. The chicken could have been cooked longer as it wasn't well cooked and kind of raw in my opinion. My husband who is a very picky eater actually liked it and said it was good, but I didn't think it was cooked well enough for my tastes. The leek sauce was nice and the ratatouille was okay, but I also felt the eggplant could have been cooked longer. Again, this was a very expensive experience for what it was. I think I paid about $270 for the both of us together, almost $300. I feel we could have just sat down at a really nice restaurant and ordered top of the notch steak and have had money left over. In any case, we've been wanting to take a cooking class together for a while, so we have that checked off our list. I just would not do this again with this company, with that chef, or recommend anyone else to waste their money doing it either.

He said we can taste wine and pay for a glass...I was actually trying to learn more about the business, not the offerings at the opening party . I'm truly invested in putting beautiful West Adam's on the map, I love and purposely made an effort to move into this neighborhood. Maybe next time I'll learn more about what they'll be offering at this new location. They have a cute interior plus a small outdoor area with string lights. I was a bit surprised the glass of wine was $20 which isn't competitive for this area (the area is not nice enough yet) but I know costs are getting high. I do want to support businesses moving into our community but I'd like them to take into consideration that this is still south LA and a lot of people who grew up in this neighborhood isn't a fan of the gentrification and pricing the businesses charge I do feel for them, people like me moving into the neighborhood hasn't helped but even for me I thought it was a bit much. I'll continued observing but nonetheless am happy to see something be open up. Maybe I'll take a class one day if that's still an option and update my review.
