    Planted terrariums.

The art classes at this place are the coolest and cutest. My boyfriend and I just left the BEST Friday night terrarium-making class and we had the greatest time. Our instructor, Marisa was one of the best art instructors I've ever worked with. She was knowledgeable, talented, engaging, and really made this class the most fun I've had on a Friday night since I moved to LA. We made these very cute terrariums in these mushroom-glass jars. Tons of options, lots of decor and styles to choose from, and inspiration terrariums on display. I wasn't the only one who had a blast. Class was completely full and we all walked out of These Hands Maker's Collective with beautiful pieces for our homes. (I made one for my office desk). I asked when she would be teaching another plant arrangement course but she said she wasn't sure. Bummer! I would for sure come back for her classes alone. She didn't have an instagram either but I jumped on their email list to stay informed. We met the studio manager Camille and she was great. Incredibly helpful, talked to me about art/her art background and gave me reccomendations to cool museums and places to eat around town (I just moved here). We had an amazing night here and will for sure be back. Definitely check this place out and we're watching for more plant/floral arrangement classes.

Wow! I was so pleasantly surprised at my class I took here. I took the paper flowers class. The space is gorgeous, open and airy but in the cold weather of last week, was nice and cozy, I never felt too warm or too cold- a feat! They started the class offering tea and water. The tea I had was blackberry sage and was so good. The class was structured well, the group got along, the teacher was patient and lovely- and the outcome was 3 gorgeous paper flowers and a bulb vase! I can't wait to go back- and I've already started making my own flowers at home :)

I've taken 2 of Annie Brown's watercolor classes and they have been so amazing! My favorite was a pizza and paint party class she held on a Friday night where we painted a still life of our pizza plates :-) The studio is such a special place to meet likeminded people and get creative! The owner Denise is amazing as well. Highly recommend!!

I recently attended my first terrarium workshop here, and it was an exceptional experience. The vast array of choices allowed all participants to unleash their creativity. The intimacy of the small group fostered genuine connections, making it even more enjoyable. Marisa, our adept instructor, alongside Camille, the studio manager, ensured we had guidance and support throughout. I'm eagerly anticipating more sessions in the future. It's an ideal date night or a delightful way to spend an evening. 10/10 would come here again. They have different classes for everyone.

This place is actually pretty cool! Very safe and secure. Reservations online required for entry…read more They do not take walk ins. There's parking directly next door to this place. It's very easy to mess but if you drive slowly, it is literally right next to the building. You turn in and there should be a wellness center on your left. Continue to go forward and turn left and the parking garage is there. It has multiple levels going down. It's typically about $1 for an hour and no they do not validate. There is free parking nearby in another garage but for a dollar to be able to walk up and be right there is much better in my opinion. When you arrive, you call the phone number on the front door and they come unlock the door to let you in the inside. Has multiple VR experiences aside from VR room itself. There are multiple spaces so more than one group could have an experience at the same time. Once you sign the waivers, they take you back to your space that is reserved and put the headsets on for you. After putting on the headset to your timer starts and you start your gaming experience. Pretty easy to understand instructions from the game guide. Just try your best not to walk into any walls and respect the boundaries. It's a lot of fun. Sometimes the airflow is not great so you definitely feel sweaty on your face but other times they'll turn on the fans and it feels good the whole time you're there. Definitely great for less active activity but still very engaging. They don't really explain the game to you and kind of leave you to figure it out on your own, but the games are not super complicated to understand. The game guides are pretty nice and quick to help out with technical issues. You cannot hear other games that are happening at the same time as you. They are there and the space is open, but VR headset quickly muffles out any other sound so it's very easy to focus on your own game. Great place if you don't have anything to do for an hour in the afternoon. And it's so close to the 3rd St Promenade that you can walk over and experience that when you're done. We typically like to walk over to Go Greek on Ocean Avenue afterward for a fun FroYo snack.

I'll be completely honest. I was not excited about taking this class. I hate cooking food as much as I love eating it. But the wife dragged me out here anyway. So what's my verdict? As my rating indicates, I was completely wrong about this class. It was a fun experience from start to finish. Chef May did a fantastic job walking us through how to prepare each dish before releasing us to our own individual stations, easing my concern that I would screw things up. When we needed any assistance, she was right there to jump in and provide support. I would be amiss if I didn't mention the best part of the class which is eating the food we made. Every dish was delicious. I especially loved the Pan Con Tomate and Jamon Serrano, and Pork Belly with Membrino Glaze. I would definitely recommend taking a class here. If they could make a guy like me who hates cooking enjoy the experience, they must be doing something right. We'll be back very soon for an encore. We're signed up for the Pan Pizza class. Looking forward to it!

The details were vague, but intriguing: $25 per person Hunt was 1.5-hours The hunt will take you through haunted spots in Hollywood. Bring a flashlight Whhhhaaatttt? A flashlight? What kind of hunt was this?! I was so intrigued, I immediately called my best group of friends and spread the word - we had something super cool to do for Halloween! The night of the event was great! I don't want to reveal all of the details (that's that fun in it!), but the event was challenging and fun. We learned alot of about Hollywood and had a great time doing it. I would definitely recommend this to someone who literally enjoys thinking outside of the box. One of their next events is based around Hollywood scandals. Is it bad we're already getting together our team? Tip: Arrive on time. The event begins promptly.

So my co-planner & I ran to the internet & found Out of the Box Events... they're located in LA, but do hunts in San Francisco as well. We weren't sure how this would go over with everyone, but thought we'd give it a go! Kristin at OOTBE was super-fantastic! She did research on our company & worked that info into the scavenger hunt as well as cool history about SF. She was also cool with me e-mailing her non-stop with random questions. So the day of the scavenger hunt arrives & Kristin's on-time & completely patient with the chaos going on in our office. Each team got a polaroid camera & a list of clues... and we're off! We ran around the city taking silly pictures & deciphering clues. Trying to throw our competitors off the trail when we could. You get points for creativity as well as finding the clues.... so that made for some fun photo ops! We ended at a hotel bar and had a drink while Kristin tallied the scores! My team won (and not because we were the ones who hired Kristin, but because we're awesome)! Ok - so the point of this long review is this: Hire Out of the Box Events. They're top-notch!!! I promise you'll have a great time!
