Perhaps part of a moving - we didn't not make an issue of these. However, they did damage an expensive table. They offered to have it repaired, did a shoddy job and said that any further work to repair it would be on our dime. The guys doing the actual moving worked hard, but they were not professionals movers. Overall this not a positive moving experience and I would not recommend them or use them in the future.

We arrived at the independent living facility mid-morning and the pictures were already expertly hung, furniture placed, and drawers organized. The team fit more furniture and decor in, without making the apartment look cluttered, than I could have imagined (in part due to Andrea's careful selection of furniture). And they meant it when they said they wanted it to feel like home right away. Down to a bowl of almonds placed carefully next to my grandfather's favorite chair, towels already hung next to the shower, and flawless organization of every drawer in the kitchen. I will split my review into two pieces - junk removal and yard cleanup. Junk Removal: B Again, this guy wasn't cheap but we needed a few (heavy) things out quickly and he got the job done and fast. As commented above, my knock is about having two bed frames remain in our house. Yard Cleanup: D Our neighbors tree fell into our backyard due to an ice storm. The tree was picked up but we needed help picking up a fence that was broken as well as other debris in the yard. We were charged $100 for the cleanup and the only thing that was done was removal of leaves in our yard. The next day, we gathered the rest of the mess and couldn't help but feel like the job was half done. I recommend making sure you're on top of everything before he leaves. Overall, will get rid of your junk fast, but cannot recommend the yard cleanup. There is definitely a need to babysit the process.

He kept asking me to change our pickup day and time. Each time I told him I couldn't change my plans. He could have simply told me it didn't work for them, but each time he'd say OK and I would confirm the day, time, and location of pickup at the end of the conversation. Then the next day he'd ask me to change it up again. When the day finally arrived, he texted me at 6:45 am and told me they were going to be almost 3 hours earlier than the scheduled time. Again, at no point did he disclose there was a pickup window. He had confirmed our appointment on multiple occasions. It almost ruined the whole process because we were picking up our item from friends, so I couldn't just randomly change the plan with no notice. Kareem was rude to me on the phone when I called him about this and said "things change". Then he billed me an invoice for our balance due before the job was done and texted me about payment. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

All the other companies had receptionists or things to fill out which were very impersonal. I personally like supporting small businesses so chose Smooth Move because the owner was so involved. I didn't know you could also hire them to pack items into a UHaul for a long distance move to avoid the big trucking company costs plus you can hire them to move things around your house. My move took longer than expected as I had more to move than expected but the guys were there every step of the way being communicative and making it the most pleasant experience possible given moving is quite unpleasant.
