We submitted a list of the damages and they immediately dropped off communication. Requests for confirmation of receipt have gone unanswered. This is surreal. Wonderfully now if all the rave reviews are forged. [Original post] Had these folks pack and move us, and the list of broken items and damaged property is continuing to grow as we unpack. Just found the toilet brush and scrubber thrown into the box with our toothbrushes and toiletries and decided it was time to start the review. I'll continue to update it as we find more wreckage. They quoted 6500 for the job, then charged us 9000. Didn't catch when Rob said the price wasn't fixed, though he must have mentioned in some way. Don't trust a lowest bid. It won't make any difference at the end of the job when they hand you the bill. Here's a list of the broken items to date: * Two glass lamp shades * Both bar cart glass surfaces * My beloved desk * Expensive wood coffee table * Child's lampshade * Queen-size bed headboard * Six or so plants stacked on top of one another in a box * Decorative vase * Night stand drawer handle * Shelf in cedar chest * Missing parts from most of the baby gates * Owl bracelet * Metal baseball bat (how!?) * Massive gouges in newly painted walls * Mud tracked through departure house, midpoint house and new house carpets (despite my begging) Theoretically their insurance should cover the things that can be replaced. Will report back on how successful this is. For the one-of-a-kind items, though, huge regret for trusting this amateur hour circus of failure. Other highlights include: * Inexplicably leaving a tons of stuff at the departure house. E.g. Found a very large box of coats at the old place pushed into a closet and shut. * Packing everything for a mid-point drop-off in the middle of two different trucks, adding an hour to the day * Smartly color coding every box to a room, then completely disregarding the codes and randomizing where they piled everything Hard to express this mixture of furry and disappointment. Lesson learned.

On June…read more18th, I had emailed Junkluggers the certificate of insurance that my mother's building required. On June 23rd at 9AM, I called to see if the COI was ready to be sent to the building and I was told it was not done yet. I called at noon and at 3:00 and every time was told the same thing, it was being worked on. Then at 4:00 I was told the Internet was down and the COI would not be sent until the following morning which was the day of the appointment. I reminded them that if the building did not get the COI, the appointment would have to be canceled. Thankfully the district manager was able to email the COI to me at 5:00 which I then forwarded to the building management. When we had made our appointment, we were told we'd be getting four workers and two trucks to clean out the apartment, instead one truck and two men showed up. The men who showed up did a good job but once the truck was filled, they had to leave. My mother's apartment building did not allow furniture removal after 4PM and we were told the company had no idea when the second truck would arrive. We were advised to reschedule and have the second truck come Friday morning. We were told we would be first on the schedule for Friday, but the truck did not arrive at my mom's apartment until almost 11 o'clock. The two men on the second truck had a lot of problems figuring out how to remove the remaining furniture from the apartment and had to be told several times to take out all the remaining furniture and bags. Pro: They honored the estimate even though our final load was slightly more than estimated Con: The COI should had been completed earlier and not delayed until right before the appointment. When you contract for four men with two trucks, that is who should show up for the job. We should not be inconvenience to have to come back a second day.
