I had an Echo blower and Craftsman 18" chainsaw which desperately needed service...most likely due to old gas. Brian was very detailed in his explanation as to what may be the problem and why. I wasn't going to be back in town for 2 weeks. Therefore he had plenty of time to take care of my toys. I received a call from Brian a week later indicating all is complete. The blower got a turn up and the spark plug plus fuel filter were replaced. The chainsaw needed a new fuel line from carb to fuel filter and as well got a new spark plug and fuel filter. My 35 year old Echo chain saw still looked almost like new and had great compression but wouldn't start, I realized it was probably a carburetor problem so I called at least six equipment repair shops, they all told me no one carries a carb for that old saw, offering no other help, I almost gave up. A few days later I called B and B Power Equipmen right away Brian told me no problem we have a new modern carb for your saw, we just have to make a 2 min mod on the new carb and it's gonna work fine. Brian at B & B Power Equipment is awesome! I was searching for a lawnmower repair shop in Sacramento with great customer service, good prices, and a quick turnaround on the repair. I am so lucky to have found my go-to place! Another highly rated shop on Yelp had quoted me $69 to look at my mower plus cost for parts, and 3 weeks to get it back--much too long for my lawn to not be mowed. I kept searching, and I was referred to B&B by another business on Yelp who couldn't help me with the small gasoline engine repair. I took the chance, called up B&B, and Brian quoted me $20-40 depending on the length of time it took him to fix my mower. I dropped it off yesterday, and this morning he called saying my mower was all fixed! I had previously done my own tune up, replacing the spark plug and cleaning out the carburetor. It ran great that day, then wouldn't start the very next week. Brian checked those items, found that the carburetor was clean, then found there was a loose kill switch that needed repair. I just picked up my gas mower that needed to be serviced badly. I dropped it off and it was done within a week. They did a very nice job and it runs purrrrfect again. The rates are very reasonable, especially if you compare my $100 service order to the cost of a new mower. Brian explained to me exactly what was needed once he got in there and the final cost was right on par with his initial quote. Once I paid, he walked me out front to get the mower. He showed the parts that he replaced and had me start it up to make sure I was happy. He as well as another customer offered to help me load it in my car which was a very nice gesture. I feel that these types of businesses just aren't as common as they used to be. Do yourself and your power equipment a favor, bring them here next time they need some work. read more

If you're looking to get any of your power equipment serviced you have got to go here and no where else!! I bought a lawn mower a little over a year ago brand new from Lowes and haven't used it at all for months. When I finally tired to start it, it wouldn't start at all. I did some research and found out that my mower might not be starting because of the old gas fuel that has been sitting in there for months. I guess after a while the fuel can lose the ethanol and clog up the carb. I first called up the manufacture and they couldn't assist me. I then called around to a few different shops in Elk Grove/Sacramento. Most of them would always tell me the same thing such as it will cost a $25 (or whatever the amount is) fee just for a diagnostic and then parts if they found something wrong with it and labor which is another $25 an hour. I didn't want to leave my mower there and come back to a big bill. No one can even give me a max price range. Also, most of the shops were about three weeks out as far as service as well. I knew that the carb was the only problem since my mower was brand new but most of these shops I felt like was preparing me to spend a lot of money and they didn't seem honest. It felt like a car mechanic trying to rip you off. I also tried calling some people on craigslist and ran into a few ads where they can do it for around $70 average but I would have to drive it to them (even though they stated they can do a pick up service). I decided not to go that route as I didn't want to pay that much and I didn't trust people on Craigslist. Luckily I did some research and found this place on Yelp. When I talked to the owner ( I believe his name is Brian) he sounded very genuine and honest. He told me that if it was a pure carb problem then it can cost as low as $40 and max up to $100. I was happy with that! I brought in my mower to his shop. It's kind of hidden right when you turn onto 23rd on your left hand side a couple of buildings back. It is a nice little shop. He told me that it will be done in a week however he called few days later stating it was done and ready for pick up. Sure enough it was only the clogged carb! He also removed my fuel tank to check for water (NONE), remove carb + disassemble to clean jets, assemble and install to run test, checked oil, check blade and air filter which all came back ok. He even lubed the control cables. He pressure washed my unit and cleaned it as well. It looks brand new!! Out the door I paid $42.17!!! These guys are the truth and I would trust them with any of my power equipment and would recommend EVERYONE I know to go here and not waste your time NOWHERE else. They got my business for life and I hope to come back and purchase some equipment (yes - they also sell equipment new and some used - check it out!). Thank you guys! read more

The service is fantastic. I went to find a simple part for my carburetor on my push mower, and was sent to 7 places that could not help me find a grommet. Finally I was told about B & B, and when I got there, this guy knew exactly what he was talking about. I brought in the float bowl, but I did not know the model of the motor.He knew as soon as he saw the part. he did not have the grommet in stock, but he asked if a used one would work, and He pulled apart 3 Motors until he found the right size. Very willing to help, and I will definitely come here for by mower / trimmer issues from now on. read more

This is the worst business that I can recall in all my life. After my chainsaw did a terrible job cutting a small cypress , I took it into B&B to have the chain sharpened and blade tuning. After picking it up ,the next day I tried to start it and it wouldn't start. I noticed that there was no gas in the primer bubble (which there was when I took it to him) and noticed something floating in the gas tank. It was the filter & tube that allowed gas to get to the carburetor. I took it back to him and he accused me of breaking it myself and when I told him that the chainsaw was working when I brought it to him , he called me (yelling) that I was a liar and a crook and told me to get out of his shop. If he had told me that those tubes get old and brittle and sometimes this happens , I would have asked him for quote to fix. But he went on a rampage about how I was a crook and liar and one time referred to me as "you guys" , I'm Mexican-American. He was a nice man when I left the chainsaw , but turned nasty and I think he should retire. Take your business to him at your own risk , but don't say I didn't warn you.
