When I called, I was asked a few questions about my issue, and an appointment time was set with Calvin Burnett for about a week later. Calvin called ahead because he was running early the day of the appointment. He spent over an hour inspecting our home inside and out. He took precise measurements from a high point on our floor, and at points throughout our home. When he was done, he explained what he found, which was that the foundation measurements were within specification. He sent a report including a map of our home with the measurements later that same day. There was no charge for this, and Bats will keep the data in their records for comparison if the need arises in the future. Called to request a foundation inspection, as the home is 30 years old, we have some very minor…read moretile cracks, and do see some seasonal movement in door openings (mostly one upstairs one). Some brickwork is cracked around suspended arches and cornerstone decorative pieces (e.g. above garage doors) but obviously has been for decades. I specifically called Cornerstone because I wanted a serious contractor who does actual poured footings, not that stacked cylinder mess that could actually crack your foundation worse as they use your house for the jack leverage. Dave was on time, courteous and (given that our appointment was in the middle of the Viral Apocalypse) understanding that I was working from home instead of 'off' for the day of our appointment. We spoke for a bit, he outlined everything well and asked pertinent questions about my reasons for calling, then got down to work inspecting...and recommended no work be done at this time.
