Everything is fresh. I wish they had meat (like steaks, poultry & pork). Just a thought.

Prices are very high on some items, more than you would pay for same item in a discount or even regular grocery store. They had advertised beef steak tomatoes on sale as well as a good deal on blueberries. Got there and found out the tomatoes were hot house, all of their tomatoes are, couldn't find the blueberries so I asked a worker and her very curt reply was, "we're out." I don't believe, as in days of old, that their produce is farm fresh as first of all; a legitimate farmers market sells local farm produce and not something shipped in from a Hothouse in Michigan. I don't believe there was one produce item in the store actually grown on a local farm as most of it seemed to have been shipped in from somewhere. Their baked goods seem to be from a local Amish bakery but not fresh, it is frozen. That same Amish bakery also sells in the local supermarkets and very expensive. I picked up a loaf of multigrain bread not locally made that was still partially frozen and more expensive than I would pay for at my local grocer. I didn't want to leave empty handed so I bought a tomato, some banana's that were priced well below supermarket bananas, and an eggplant a little more expensive than supermarket. The cashier was a young girl and very friendly.

Talk to the person in front or behind you while waiting. Always pleasant. I always see the owner or manager always pitching in. Lots of busy people stocking or restocking shelves. If you don't try it--good. More good stuff for me. This place knows how to run a business. Staff always pleasant and willing to help.

If I am in the Willowick area I will usually try to stop by Sweetberry Fresh Market to see what I can find. Sweetberry is a medium sized market with a large selection of produce and fruits, a full deli counter, butcher counter, bakery, groceries and prepared foods. Once you have parked you get your first taste of what is best and freshest since they have a display of vegies on sale on the side and front porch; which is open in the summer and covered in the winter. Inside you find a tightly packed market which is usually packed with people. The staff does a nice job of keeping things moving, but it can get a bit overwhelming and slow at times. I usually concentrate on the fruits and vegetables; prices are moderate, although I can usually find good deals on the sale items. For me I can pass on most of the other food, while they have a freezer of frozen fish and seafood, there is no fresh seafood. Most times I visit Sweetberry while the selection is good between the crowds and the prices, I either leave with nothing or just a couple of items. If you are in the area Sweetberry is a good alternative to the grocery stores, but probably not worth a special trip.

It angered me and had me wondering if she was blind as I'm obviously a male. Her apology was "things happen." It was only three shoppers scanning and she spent most of her time helping another dude and seemed irritated by my raised hand w/vocal help request. It appears every food market has at least one knucklehead on board. Btw, no cashiers, self checkout only. The food choices were good and had items not seen much in the area, like the lobster balls I copped. There are lots of tables where you can eat. If I worked nearby and got an hour to grub this would be my main lunch spot. I love the ambiance of the store. Being my first time I navigated each aisle to find out where things were. The free parking is as convenient as it gets and you can push your cart out to your car, unlike Marcs.

We had just come from the Yelpies (Yelp Awards) and I was dropping her off at her apartment but then I saw this market on the way so I stopped in. I had been meaning to visit Fairfax Market for a long time now so I'm glad that I finally got to visit. FOOD -- This is a huge grocery store with lots of food and drink options to choose from, such as snacks, meats (chicken, beef, fish), bread, milk, etc. I heard that they even have cooking demonstrations too. What I bought for all under $11 -- a big bunch of bok choy, 2 small stalks of broccoli, a small Arm and Hammer brand toothpaste, bananas, and 2 packages of tea biscuits. The bok choy was delicious that just recently, in April 2026, I drove by Fairfax and almost thought of going in to buy bok choy but I had a long day and I was too tired to stop. SERVICE -- My friend and I were greeted upon walking inside by a friendly security guard. Checking-out was easy and quick. I will be back whenever I am in the area again. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 24/250 total reviews in 2026 - 865 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 13 April 2026
