There are also many other vendors at the indoor location through the winter months, and I would encourage anyone in the area to stop by if they value organic produce and supporting local business . The products are all very fresh and of good quality, although I could not speak for the holiday market vendors because they are only gonna be here for two consecutive weekends and I do not know them well . I guess it depends what you're looking for apart from Food. There is a program that gives you some extra spending credits. If you are on snap benefits, or certain other programs so you should go to the website for the market and find out about that. They exchange your card, benefits for wooden nickels , good for any food product , or little green coins that are only good for produce. There are usually two or three different bakeries, including Brimfield oven . A coffee vendor, and at least one seller of free range meat. Her products are frozen, of course. There were a couple people who have free range eggs. There is a dizzying array of vegetables available, and the vendors can tell you more than you ever thought to ask about any of them . You will probably find some new favorites like daikon, radishes, and Mizuna greens. There are multiple colors of carrots and beets, as well as different varieties of radish and turnip. The hard thing is not to overspend because your eyes are bigger than your stomach . and I will also say that because you are getting organic produce, you can eat the greens on everything on the counter: carrot tops and beet greens and radish or turnip greens(google that if you don't believe me, these are all edible,) ... as well as the usual kale and cabbage and chard. There are vegetarian and vegan options as well as sellers of mushrooms and mushroom tincture , house plants, maple syrup, and honey, barbecue sauce, donuts, pasta. Prepared Mediterranean food. Deli is active and you can get a great sandwich to go there. Meat section is OK. They have everything you might need and have their own sausages. Bakery is OK too. Good wine, beer selection. They also have a frozen food and dry food sections. Prices are the main issue with me. Currently when writing this the prices are high. But everything is fresh and quality. You gotta know and pick and choose. You can find deals. This is a good place to go just have to understand the price and market value of what you're buying. Service up front tends to be teenagers. This is a Hollywood movie come true!…read more The Sirna's were your typical urban-dwelling family with regular city-type jobs up until a few years ago when they decided to buy a plot of land and move out to the country to start farming. Today, they do a great job encouraging and supporting local farming initiatives while taking their hard-worked goods to weekend markets in Cleveland suburbs like Shaker Heights and South Russell. They also operate their own storefront on their land open during growing season which features their own goods as well as stuff from local farms and wineries (cheese, sausages, canned goods, wines, etc.) - again, supporting the local farmers and businesses. One story I always tell people is on one weekend I was desperate for some dill as I had a bunch of baby cuckes at home ready to be pickled. She ran out of the store and came back from the fields a few minutes later handing me this gigantic bouquet of dill weed for about $2. Now I only needed a few sprigs for the pickles but boy the house smelled great for a week! We participated in their CSA one year - a way of buying a share in the farmers' operation. For an up-front lump sum fee, your share nets you a weekly bag of whatever the crops yield that week. This goes on for several months while crops can be harvested. While you don't usually get a choice of what you'll receive (it's whatever is ripening that week!), every bag has an abundance of food. This is perfect for the family that has flexibility in preparing and eating a variety of vegetables from week to week. We received throughout the growing season (not in just one week) corn, potatoes, tomatoes, green beans, radishes, zucchini, butternut squash, yellow squash, kohlrabi, onions, and much more. On weeks which were light on crops, especially in the beginning, Sirna's substituted freshly-ground peanut butter and local honey. Sirna's also does a Fall festival open house with hay rides for the kids. Located along 44 about 2 miles south of 422, Sirna's is definitely worth your while to stop by here one of your summer/fall weekends and support your local farmers.

The buildings, greenhouse, and plants are gorgeous here. You feel so welcome on their property, as if you're friends just coming to pick from their garden. Reasonably priced blueberry picking and the plants are so well taken care of-all the blueberries were phenomenal! They also do CSA if you're interested in produce purchasing and just prepared themselves for products in the wintertime with a new greenhouse!
