They were on site on Friday morning, I asked them specifically if they could install a specific Trane system that I wanted to purchase or if they could get me a better price on their system. I had the exact make/model/price of a unit that they could compare with. They promised me they would write it up both ways and have it to me by the end of the day. I give them all of Friday and Saturday with no response and message them Sunday and Monday to see what's going on and get promised by the end of today again. I was lied to again and had to message them again before they finally sent me a quote on Tuesday. It was only at this time that I was told that they couldn't install the unit I wanted and that their "competitively" priced equivalent unit was over 200% the cost of what I told them I was initially looking at. Their eventual quote for their Goodman system was also 20% more expensive than the carrier system that one of the most reviewed and reputable companies in Dayton/Springfield quoted me. I understand that installing third party systems is not common in the industry which is why it was the first thing I asked. It should not take 5 days of leading me on to tell me they can't do it.

Getting an appointment with Ribbit Heating/AC was particularly easy, with their dispatcher not only providing lots of opportunities for appointments, but also giving us follow-up calls on the day of, ensuring that we were home in time to meet the service techs. The two techs who arrived were both timely and courteous, swiftly diagnosing the issue with our A/C unit. They provided accurate pricing throughout the process and were done quickly. And right now? He forgot ok, ask again...he forgot. Now hes at work, I need help and every # for the realitor online is a wrong #. So i dial Viking Air and ask for help. Jen answers, asks if I'm sure its not a broken pipe problem. U assure her that I don't believe it is because,... the water is coming from the vents and pooling in the laundry room. She askes me to check to see if its icyle on the condenser outside. NO ICE. Then she say she cannot do anything for me because I need to call the realtor and have her call Viking. You have their #, omgoodness I can't find that anywhere. She then immediately back tracks and says she cannot give me that info... I am so glad we had AC Service come over to give us a second opinion on our central air. In the…read morewinter, we had a furnace replaced by a different company and that went horribly . When the air conditioner didn't work this summer we thought that it was probably something they didn't hook up correctly after replacing the furnace, so we had the old company come back out. They swore it was nothing they had done and that our entire central air system needed replaced and said it was going to cost us over $7000. They gave us a whole laundry list of things that they said were broken. I didn't trust them and thought it had to be something they did since it worked just fine until they replaced the furnace. So I called AC Service company out to give us a second opinion. Jarrod was amazing. It turns out that it wasn't something that the other company did wrong. However, it was a simple fix of replacing the thermostat and now the air-conditioning is working fine!!! That other company was super shady and was going to cost us over $7000 (and based on how slow they were fixing the furnace, wouldn't be done for several weeks). Jarrod of AC service company had it fixed for under $400 the same evening. And he showed us several things that the previous furnace people did that were not up to code and could be downright dangerous. AC service company saved our budget and possibly saved us a major problem next winter. I am so grateful for AC service company and I will be using them from now on! Thank You Jarrod!!!

The temp in my house fell overnight and I have guests coming for Christmas. I called Mr Comfort and Ricki was at my house in less than two hours. Even in the terrible conditions we were under. He knew right away the furnace had to be replaced - I have a heat pump and there was no Emergency Heat. A team arrived not two hours later, took out my old 20+ year system and put in a new one. The house was warming up by 4:30 p.m. You can't get better service than that!!

The next year the coil broke, and they came out to replace it, charging a very high price for both parts and labor. We only realized how overpriced it was after a different technician later looked at the work. This year, the same compressor they installed just two years ago failed again. Their quote to replace it was around $2,000 for labor alone -- roughly triple what an independent technician quoted us for the same job. We've also paid for a membership for years that was supposed to include two inspections annually. Those inspections never happened. When we asked, they said we hadn't answered their calls -- but we never received a single call, email, or letter from them. Most concerning of all: when the new technician inspected the unit, he told us the parts had been installed incorrectly, which likely explains why they failed so quickly and why the AC never cooled to full capacity. Between the repeated failures, the overcharging, and the membership we paid for but never received service on, this experience cost us significant time and money. I'd recommend getting a second opinion before hiring them.
