We selected E&I because of their ratings and from day one it was clear why. Every day they arrived on time and were very professional. Unlike other contractors, E&I works 5 days a week on our property and continues this schedule until the job was completed. I'll start off by saying that Jorge is a very nice/professional guy. He came and did a walk-through and explained everything that his guys would be doing. He promised his crew would physically remove the bathroom mirrors and hand rail off the walls and paint. Unfortunately, they ultimately did not do any of this and got paint on the sides of both bathroom mirrors and didn't use tape to cut in around the railing brackets. They did use tape around the top of the shower, but that still did not produce a straight/clean edge. Multiple sections of floor trim had paint bleed onto the trim. I have been doing handy work for the majority of my life and know how to paint well and I am fully aware that accidents happen. But for a professional painting crew to come in and make the mess they made, is completely unacceptable. There was even a light switch cover that they failed to remove and got paint all over it. I contacted Jorge and explained that I was not satisfied with the work his crew completed. Jorge was extremely apologetic and agreed to come himself and fix it. He was very transparent and honest when he showed up to do the repairs, which I respect. He did a decent job with the repairs. A couple days passed and I noticed a spot on the ceiling in the basement. I reached out to Jorge and he stated that he would come fix that as well the following week. A week passes, I message Jorge again to ask when he was available to come and received no response. read more

E&I did a fantastic job painting the upstairs portion of my house. It included 3 bedrooms, hallways, entry way, living room, dinning room, and kitchen. The quote they gave could not be beat by the other companies that gave quotes. Jorge was responsive to my calls and emails and updated me on paint shortages and which paints were better than others. His team of 4 people completed the job over two days. They started at 8:00 am and ended at 4:00 pm on the first day. They started at 8:00 am and ended at 1:30 pm on the second day. Everything in the house was covered and they did their best to make no mess. I will say that there was a bit of white material, probably from the sanding they had to do, that I could see after they left. I cleaned my floors and it all appears to be gone. There was an issue with the paint in the kitchen, but Jorge corrected his mistake quickly and coordinated for a painter to come and re-do the kitchen the same week. The painter fixed the kitchen's color in 3.5 hours. I am not done painting my house and will definitely be considering E&I in future projects. Also - did I mention free estimate?! read more

If you are looking for a truly EXCEPTIONAL painting team, let me tell you about Jorge Morales from E & I Painting Contractors, Inc., in Fredrick, MD. To say that he and his team went beyond my expectations is a gross understatement. Jorge contacted me the same day that I sent an email requesting an estimate for a home interior painting job, and then he followed up promptly and was at our home on the day and time that we had agreed upon. He listened carefully to what I wanted, went into great detail about the types of paint there are, and then discussed the importance of the quality of the paint product he uses (mostly Sherwin Williams Duration - the GOOD stuff). He also made a suggestion to me regarding painting the ceilings that I'm so grateful for, now - what a difference that made! His price includes paint, materials, labor, and equipment, and he has a 3 year guarantee on his jobs. If his workmanship shows a problem during that timeframe, he'll come back to fix it, no problem. His preparation was AMAZING. He uses paper for the wood floors so dust from blankets doesn't work its way into the cracks between the flooring. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets were covered with plastic and taped and came out IMMACULATE from the painting process which, as I mentioned, included all ceilings. A DIFFICULT MOMENT: Jorge asked me to pick out my paint colors, but I totally chose the wrong main color and, two bedrooms into the process, he got a panicked call from me on the weekend saying that I needed to change that paint. There was a moment of silence, and then he just said, okay, please go pick out a new color and I'll do a couple of rooms to make sure this is the right color. He never made me feel awful about it. Jorge has been painting professionally - doing both commercial and residential painting - for some 19 years, so he absolutely knows what he's doing. The last day of the painting job was a "touch up" of all trim, and Jorge purposely waited for my carpet guy to finish his job so that the painting team could redo the white baseboard trim that always gets marks on it from a carpet installation. And their supposed "touch up" included every single area of white trim paint that needed it - to include doors, framing, crown molding, etc. Their trained eyes spot little details you, as the homeowner, never would. The clean up job they did reminded me of The Cat in The Hat - how did it all get picked up so fast? You aren't left with ANY mess. Lastly, let me say that Jorge is one of those guys who starts out as just your painter, but he quickly becomes more of a friend by the end of your project. He's reliable, on time, communicative, and very clear about his pricing. This was a GREAT experience and one team I'd hire again without question. (P. S. I had to remind Jorge about that extra paint required - he wasn't even thinking about it. This company is very unreliable. I have tried to hire them twice over the last 7 months and they have ghosted me both times. In March I had them come by to give me a quote for my kitchen. Jorge responded promptly and promised a quote the next day. After many days and multiple emails I finally got a quote and I told them that it was approved. I reached out several times over the next couple of months and was met with excuses about delays till they stopped responding. Fast forward to this month where I thought that I would give them a second try. Jorge called me promptly and we scheduled him to come by to give me a quote between 12-1pm today. It is now 11pm and I have not heard from him. I have to take some responsibility for not heeding the old adage "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me". If you need a job done promptly look elsewhere. I have no reason to doubt the reviews about the quality of their work, but I do not think that the juice is worth the squeeze. read more

New construction townhouse, 3 stories, all bright white. Jorge gave me an estimate over his vacation. I wanted literally every room on the house aside from closets painted, and one bathroom and one accent wall wallpapered. (About 2400 square feet). He and his crew finished the entire house (aside from the wallpaper which I ordered custom and didn't arrive until a week later) in two days. I added on doing the garage including ceiling, and the walls are partly concrete (different paint type) and they did that in another half day. The crew was great, Jorge is fantastic. I am honestly a little sad that I won't be seeing him again soon. He is such a cheerful, conscientious, and even thoughtful person to work with. I hired E&I to paint the exterior of my townhouse. Jorge is knowledgeable and his pricing was the most competitive. Communication was a little lacking, though I'm sure it's because he's a very busy guy. There was a discrepancy between the estimate and the contract, but we were able to resolve it quickly. I hired Jorge and his team to paint the interior of my house top to bottom. The previous owners had done a cheap spray job to the whole house before selling it. Jorge came out and quoted the job and promptly gave me a quote. It was the best quote I got. He and his team were super punctual, arriving before even I did on the first day! I was a few minutes late and they were already setting up and prepping walls. All in all his team spent about 10 days in our new house prepping and painting every square inch. He had said he wasn't going to do a ton of work to the walls upstairs because it would drastically increase the cost for me (The house is 100+ years old), but he is very committed to doing a good job so he ended up doing a ton more prep upstairs than he said he would, and it sure paid off. The whole entire house both upstairs and downstairs looks like a completely different house now that his team is finished. I needed help fixing some water damage in our dining room ceiling THE WEEK BEFORE MOVING OUT, and Jorge and his team came through! Not only did he get me on the calendar right away, but the quality of the work was stellar. The owner, Jorge Morales, was prompt in visiting my home and providing a detailed estimate. His estimate was the most thorough and cost competitive that I received. I hired him and he laid out exactly how the job would proceed and the estimate of time to complete. I had a kitchen, huge family room with cathedral ceilings, foyer and hallway painted. He estimated 2 days. His team of four very professional painters were always right on time and did a beautiful job making sure all furniture and floor areas were thoroughly covered. Putting this out first, but Jorge was not the cheapest of the painting contractors I was in contact with (those contractors came with tons of caveats), but his price was more than fair for the work he and his team performed. Instead, what I got was someone who took the time to explain exactly what they would do for my painting job all laid out clearly and with no hidden fees tacked on. After meeting with Jorge to show him the areas I wanted painting, he asked me a few simple questions such as paint type and if I wanted ceilings, molding, baseboards painted as well, and then got back to me the following day with a quote. When he and his team showed up, it was on time and ready to work. They protected all my furniture and even completed the project in two days instead of the three he guessed it would need.
