I own a duplex that needed SEVERE work. The previous owner had replaced the east side units, but somehow skipped the west side (lucky us.) It was so bad and neglected for so long, that the last job laid cheap composite shingles over the original 1950's shake roof, rather than removing the original cedar shingles. No leaks, but every month, you could see worn shingles on the concrete surrounding the structure. B&M initially replaced the east roof, but I usually get estimates first. But when the other highly rated roofing company didn't even show up for the job, it made sense to go with B&M. Plus this way, we would be able to match the roofing color to that east side, which was done fairly recently. They would simply refer to previous records and look up the shingle type & color. I opted for radiant barrier sheathing, in hopes that this would decrease energy bills for my tenants during summer months. I was surprised how reasonable the added cost for this option. I highly recommend. Studies show a decrease in radiant heat transfer by 97%. This eliminates the need to install attic fans. The feedback I received from my east units regarding the prior roofing job, was that no care was taken in preventing debris falling on items in the garage sections. This was my only concern using B&M initially. Other than that, the prior roof work looked solid. Bottom line, choosing B&M was the right choice. They took about a week to do the job. The work was meticulous. They even replaced rotten shiplap in some of the eaves. They cleaned up at the end of each day of work. And as far as debris in the garages (which I understand is difficult to be perfectly covered from dust and particles) it's as if they were never there. They either covered everything prior to roof demo, or they spent a bunch of time cleaning up debris after the roof was on. I mean, super clean! I noticed the long list of other services offered by B&M. I will definitely use them in the future. read more

Had our roof completely redone, with a 7 year warranty. 4 years later, the roof was leaking in 10 different areas where the living room is with a 10 month old in the house. Texted Mark the owner and he replied he can't come same day and will get back when he checks the contract...he didn't call back so I called him as it was urgent and he said he remembers me and will come next day. Next day he swings by, I asked that he sends me pictures and calls me after to share why it was leaking. He sends some pictures but didn't explain the fix. I text again and he shares the whole wall had a gap because the sealant "somehow" cracked. I asked why it cracked in the first place when we just re did the whole roof. I also expressed my frustration about damages in the walls of the interior. He couldn't care less and told me "I fixed it....no comment I'm done for the evening". His quality of work is concerning (having a new roof leak after 4 years) and labor warranty is horrible. He is not reliable and his customer service is poor. His crew came out to repair the leaky roof about a couple of weeks ago and the next day it rained hard for 2 days. I had the pleasure of hiring Mark to replace our roof. He was very professional and always went the extra mile to ensure everything went well. We had 4 contractors come inspect our roof, and Mark's honesty and fair pricing is what stood out to me. When my wife and I couldn't decide between the Coastal Slate and Sage wood, Mark surprised us by swinging by our home and dropping off two shingles so we could see the difference. These were the type of things Mark would do to go the extra mile. We decided to go with the sage wood, and I made sure to include some photos because we had a difficult time getting a sense of what it would like from the various different shades of it online. Our roof had quite a bit of water damage, and Mark went ahead and replaced all the damaged wood, pointed out and corrected some construction flaws in our home. There were no unforeseen charges, it was all included in our original estimate. I thoroughly inspected the materials used, and the work performed, and there were no corners cut. Everything went smoothly, and we're very happy with our new roof. Ironically enough, it started raining the day after they finished putting in the new roof. The roof held up well, and there were no more leaks. As an added bonus, our patio which was having leaks, no longer has them. We were going to tear down our patio, but thanks to Mark, we'll be able to salvage it. I don't know what he did to fix it, but whatever it was, we're grateful. We had our general contractor and he botched the project and didn't comply to city code. We went to research roofers and decided to go with Mark at B&M Roofing. Mark explained the type of materials we were using, brochures, colors, exactly what he was doing, how many days, and provided a prompt estimate (which was difficult to get, and we tried to get quotes from over 10 roofers). We found his professionalism and pricing met our needs. He was also very prompt with sending emails, documents, and responding to us. We chose to go with Mark and he began the work the following week. He came on time and they completed earlier than the estimated time. I work from home, and Mark was able to coordinate noise levels, which was extremely helpful. He finished the job and even came back to repaint a metal structural piece that we wanted to match.
