The 7 year extra sharp cheese is amazing. We live the crystals in the cheese. So good!

I placed my order online and went with a Hefty size Classic Cheesesteak, and a Husky size Philly Special Hoagie. Total after tax/tip was $34.00. How were they? Cheesesteak- Fantastic! Nice seeded bread, tons of meat and cooper sharp cheese. Onions were cut a little big and laid on top, so they started to fall all over the place (eat this outside your car, trust me!) while I was eating. Flavors were great, though! Damn fine cheesesteak and I would definitely return to get another. Hoagie- This thing was packed with goodies! They also use the "meat blanket" technique that I have only seen at LaSpadas down in Florida, previously. All the ingredients were well put together, HUGE, good bread, but there was a lack of tang in the olive oil/vinegar dressing. It was basically absent. That's why the 4 stars. Maybe you need to order extra or more vinegar? Something was definitely needed though. It was pretty plain tasting. Don't get me wrong, it was still a good sandwich, but it could have been a GREAT sandwich with some extra flavor of the oil/vinegar. This would definitely be my sandwich spot if I lived in York!

We got the chicken corn soup and hunter stew soup and a turnover. The food is amazing. The soups were sooooo good. The sandwiches look amazing and they even have this awesome fresh cannoli setup! I would absolutely recommend it to anyone. The bad - I am deaf and depend on my hubby to help me in unfamiliar surroundings. I was standing by the food display and said to him out loud "Where do I stand to get service?" as I was reading his lips across the room. The next thing I know a lady behind the counter is chastising me very loudly about how she is with a customer and "WHEN SOMEONE CAN GET TO YOU THEY WILL." It was embarrassing for me, to say the least. I was asking my husband a question and here she is literally chastising me in front of everyone. My husband steps in to say "She's deaf and was asking me" and that's when I went and hid in the last table in the back. I was hoping that I found a place I could go during the week on my own when my husband travels for work. But I doubt I would go there alone after this.

The sample food was incredible and the employees there were wonderful to talk to. Fast forward to the wedding on May 22nd at Drumore Mill. The staff was friendly and did a great job getting food out to everyone, but the food was abysmal. It was the worst I've ever encountered at an event. The beef was supposed to be smoked brisket. It was a not even close. Fatty, barely warm and flavorless. It felt like something you'd get in a budget frozen dinner. The chicken? Over-cooked and the coating, whatever it was so thick and salty, it was inedible. The vegetables were actually okay and the mashed potatoes were meh but at least we could eat them without worrying about being bombarded with salt. In fact, they could have used some seasoning. What was presented to the bride and groom on their tasting plate was absolutely not what The Festive Board delivered on the wedding day. This company should refund them their money. Be warned, what you see when they're trying to get a contract is not what you get on the day of your wedding.

I ordered eggplant parmigiana to take home for the husband. It is his favorite. He shares so I can tell you that you could taste the quality olive oil in this dish. Superb! My daughter got spaghetti and meatballs. Her spaghetti looked like the pasta water wasn't drained at all. Spaghetti and sauce just sitting on top of water. She said the meatballs were very delicious though. I got the lasagna with a bowl of Italian Wedding soup. My meal and soup were perfect, I just wish the soup portion wasn't so small. About 4 spoonfuls and it was gone. The portions of our meals though fit the hefty price. We each took our leftovers home and still had enough for almost 2 whole meals each. Our meals came with probably the worst garlic bread I've ever had. First it didn't come out until about 10 minutes into our meal and when it did it was basically hard stale bread. Other than a few green specs I wouldn't have been able to tell you it was garlic bread. Still not sure if was.

They also use the Philly bread that tastes so good because of the putrid water there , but seriously, the bread is good. The problem(s) arose when we opened our bag and wrapping...remember that good meat I spoke of? Well, there wasn't much of it on there. In fact, it was mostly Wiz (and that was even skimpy) and no onions or peppers. When I called to place the order, I was redirected to order online; very impersonal. Perhaps the reasoning is because people call in and never pick up their food, so it becomes a cost issue, which I do understand. The guy could have been friendlier on the phone, but perhaps he's an introvert ‍. When we looked at our food, we were so disappointed . And then, I looked up and saw the disgusting tub in the window lurking at me with all of its drippings down the side. That was a complete and total eyesore and will stop us from ever returning.

Was disappointed there is no real sitting area so I did have to eat in my car but the way the food was wrapped and in containers made it pretty easy to eat in the car. Price wise not horrible and flavor wise big plus. Would suggest this place for a simple but delicious meal.
