The 7 year extra sharp cheese is amazing. We live the crystals in the cheese. So good!

I placed my order online and went with a Hefty size Classic Cheesesteak, and a Husky size Philly Special Hoagie. Total after tax/tip was $34.00. How were they? Cheesesteak- Fantastic! Nice seeded bread, tons of meat and cooper sharp cheese. Onions were cut a little big and laid on top, so they started to fall all over the place (eat this outside your car, trust me!) while I was eating. Flavors were great, though! Damn fine cheesesteak and I would definitely return to get another. Hoagie- This thing was packed with goodies! They also use the "meat blanket" technique that I have only seen at LaSpadas down in Florida, previously. All the ingredients were well put together, HUGE, good bread, but there was a lack of tang in the olive oil/vinegar dressing. It was basically absent. That's why the 4 stars. Maybe you need to order extra or more vinegar? Something was definitely needed though. It was pretty plain tasting. Don't get me wrong, it was still a good sandwich, but it could have been a GREAT sandwich with some extra flavor of the oil/vinegar. This would definitely be my sandwich spot if I lived in York!

The hoagie I ordered was exactly what I was expecting. I ordered the sandwich with everything on it (Yes, all the peppers!) It was out of this world! I definitely will be back to try their other sandwiches!

The sample food was incredible and the employees there were wonderful to talk to. Fast forward to the wedding on May 22nd at Drumore Mill. The staff was friendly and did a great job getting food out to everyone, but the food was abysmal. It was the worst I've ever encountered at an event. The beef was supposed to be smoked brisket. It was a not even close. Fatty, barely warm and flavorless. It felt like something you'd get in a budget frozen dinner. The chicken? Over-cooked and the coating, whatever it was so thick and salty, it was inedible. The vegetables were actually okay and the mashed potatoes were meh but at least we could eat them without worrying about being bombarded with salt. In fact, they could have used some seasoning. What was presented to the bride and groom on their tasting plate was absolutely not what The Festive Board delivered on the wedding day. This company should refund them their money. Be warned, what you see when they're trying to get a contract is not what you get on the day of your wedding.

So, tonight I stepped out of the box and chose something brand new for moi! DH and I went out with another couple for a yummy dinner and yes ! I did not get lasagne. I ordered Parmesan crusted chicken. It is sauteed chicken breasts breaded with something delish and coated with mozzarella and parm. The two breasts were sitting atop the most delicious fettuccini Alfredo that have ever had. Just amazing!! When i ordered it the server, Avery, said it was her favorite dish on the menu. Might be mine too!!! My meal started with Maryland crab soup. Just the right amount of spice. It was good. DH ordered City Pasta- a delicious blend of chicken breast and sliced sausage with mushrooms, peppers and onions with marinara sauce over penne pasta. Of course I tasted it Yum!! Tomorrow is going to be epic when we share the huge amount of left overs for dinner! Our friends shared a Stromboli and said it was terrific. You can't go wrong at Marino's. Our server, Avery was super and friendly. Always nice people here! If you've never been to Marino 's do yourself favor and get there. You will thank me for it!!

If you're looking for an absolute staple in the York food scene, Marino's Pizza & Pasta House on…read moreEast Market Street is a must-visit. They've been serving authentic, comforting Italian cuisine since 1982, originally opened by Italian immigrants Domenick and Josie Marino (and later passed on to the Spangler family to keep the tradition alive). It's no wonder they consistently rake in local "Best of York" awards year after year--the consistency here is unmatched. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but a few things stand out: The Pizza & Strombolis: They started with a small menu focused on these, and they've perfected them over the decades. The pizza crust has the ideal chew, and the traditional strombolis are packed, perfectly baked, and never greasy. The Chopped Steak Sandwich: Forget standard cheesesteaks; their chopped steak sandwich is legendary around here. The steak is perfectly finely chopped, incredibly juicy, cooked up with plenty of onions, and served on a fresh roll with just the right amount of melted cheese. It's comfort food at its absolute best. Chicken Alexander: For a sit-down dinner, this is a masterpiece. It features a tender, sautéed chicken breast layered with fresh spinach, capicola ham, and a rich, velvety brandy cream sauce, all served over a bed of fettuccine. It is incredibly savory and decadent. Whether you're hitting the drive-thru for a quick takeout night or sitting down in the dining room for a full dinner, Marino's always delivers on massive portions and great local hospitality. Highly recommend!

They also use the Philly bread that tastes so good because of the putrid water there , but seriously, the bread is good. The problem(s) arose when we opened our bag and wrapping...remember that good meat I spoke of? Well, there wasn't much of it on there. In fact, it was mostly Wiz (and that was even skimpy) and no onions or peppers. When I called to place the order, I was redirected to order online; very impersonal. Perhaps the reasoning is because people call in and never pick up their food, so it becomes a cost issue, which I do understand. The guy could have been friendlier on the phone, but perhaps he's an introvert ‍. When we looked at our food, we were so disappointed . And then, I looked up and saw the disgusting tub in the window lurking at me with all of its drippings down the side. That was a complete and total eyesore and will stop us from ever returning.

Was disappointed there is no real sitting area so I did have to eat in my car but the way the food was wrapped and in containers made it pretty easy to eat in the car. Got the seafood fries really not expecting much and was I wrong. Real crab and huge shrimp. Good portion too for $11. Got a wiz steak and the Amoroso bread was a added treat. Price wise not horrible and flavor wise big plus. Would suggest this place for a simple but delicious meal.
