2ND BEST REUBEN IN PITTSBURGH My buddy Hunter has told me about this spot for at least half a year now and I finally made it Inside is like the most basic small town deli you'd expect with 2 tables and two small ones by the windows. Insane amount of chip options and for whatever reason Pepperidge Farms cookies. Wish they had homemade ones or local bakery because one with this meal would be perfect Macaroni Salad. I was a huge fan of this because it was SUPER light in mayo and not overpowering in the slightest. It could use a little more salt though. 7/10 Potato Leek. Fucking awesome but needed pepper. 8/10 Spicy Italian. Just boar's head meat, a SOLID house Italian on BreadWorks. 6.5/10 Reuben. LETS GO. BreadWorks marble rye, solid corned beef/thousand island and sauerkraut. The bread was cooked with the perfect amount of butter that when you press in you get the flood gates. I will always complain about not enough meat on a Reuben. Not as good as it usually is. But I will still try again. This used to be the best Italian hoagie around, but like everywhere else, it was skimpy. One more try next time I am in the area and that will be the tell. I feel like everyone raises their prices because of the economy, when it's really not, but I actually want what I am paying for. If that is how much you need, to cover the cost of my food, okay. But I am not pay more and getting much, much less. And that's what it seems. If you need to add ~double meat Additional $2 then do it. Don't skimp on toppings. That is why we are here! read more

Wedding soup was fantastic! Even though it was frozen, I don't think it lost any flavor from fresh. It's fresh on Mondays. Can't imagine getting any more flavorful than this. I'll be getting it again soon. read more

I hired them to cater the Allison Park Sportsmen's Club Christmas party. The food was great. After we had very mixed reviews about last years supplier I had major concerns. This being my first year in charge I wanted things to go well and thanks to the people at B&Z it did. The food was ready for pickup on time, with all the extras we had requested. Not only was the food good there was plenty of it and it was reasonably priced. We will definitely be using them again and highly recommend giving them a try. read more

So far everything I have ordered has been great. Spicy Italian, regular Italian, cheesesteak. But the rueben was by far, one of the best I've ever had. The sauerkraut had a bit of sweetness to it that was perfect. I would buy just that! A ton of meat. Just so good! I'm going there for Italian hoagies and Rueben's when I get a craving. And this is probably a thirty - forty minute drive for me. It's not close. Yes. I would travel for a good sandwich. Everyone is very friendly. I picked up some frozen soups for a future dinner. Nice little deli that has freshly made sandwiches and prepared foods. The items on their menu we love to order are their spaghetti bake and the salmon filets. Recently I tried their fish sandwich, and it was good. Their pasta, loaded potato and tortellini salads are good also. Service is for the most part friendly. Today was my first time going after my mom raved about it to me. It's a cute store/ Deli that reminded me of Labriolas, which made me SO excited! However... the customer service was absolutely unacceptable and horrific! I went to the counter and told the older gentleman that I had not been there before and was excited to try it. He was extremely rude and treated me as if I didn't belong... he spoke to me like I was a complete idiot because I didn't know they made sandwiches and wraps when I asked if there was a menu. He showed me the menu with such an attitude, I felt like I was bothering him and should not have come in. The most unwelcome I have ever felt in a business. Afterwards, there were bags at the end of the counter, as I got a bunch of things I placed my items in 2 bags, but before so asked if they needed rung up before I placed the items in the bag (I assumed they did it at the counter). After a long condescending staring pause he pointed behind me and said I needed to be rung up at the register. I took my bags to the register where an older woman with dirty tattered clothing was on the phone taking an order. I set the bags down and took the items out so she could ring it up easily. This woman was the WORST of the experience! She paused and looked at me with the meanest daggers in her eyes.... I said "no rush ma'am! You can finish what you're doing!" She then, scowled "these need rung up?" I said yes... she then rolled her eyes at me, sighed very loudly and aggressively threw the bags my items were in down to the floor next to her. After taking the phone customers order, she told her she had to put her on hold before giving her the total because "(eye roll and sign again) I HAVE to ring up a customer here!" I wish I would have just left at that point instead of giving such mean people my business... but my son and I were hungry and I just wanted to get out of there! After spending $60 at this Deli my first time being there, I will never ever go back! I can't believe how I was treated. I felt I was treated like some nothing beggar who was bothering them. I'd rather take the extra drive to Labriolas for the sweet, kind and accepting service you get there! What an absolute waste of time, money and a good mood going to this place!!! read more

Fantastic never disappointed my personal favorite is Soppressata with mozzarella lettuce tomato mayo on ciabatta bread.

Why go to Panera when you can come here and get a delicious sandwich for $5.25? They use Boar's Head meats and cheeses cut to order and Breadworks bread. The roast beef and swiss, spicy Italian, and chicken salad sandwiches are all popular choices in my house. They also have a decent selection of prepared foods which I've not tried but look good. read more

Homemade soups and deli sandwiches are superb for location. Counter style service and often times a 5+min wait. This is mostly a carry out place but there are also a few tables that will fill up around lunch. If you're running late and don't have dinner planned, they always have a daily feature you can heat up for the family. I think having their homemade soups frozen and available for purchase in genius, too. They don't add a lot of salt to their prepared food, which is an added bonus. read more

And unlike most places with that kind of deal you actually get the whole sandwich not just half! They offer quality Boar's head deli meat and all sides are made fresh. I definitely suggest trying the tortellini pasta side, light italian dressing with tomatoes and black olives. I highly suggest the chicken breast wrap,comes with caesar dressing but I always ask for ranch instead. During lunch there is wait, but worth it. Small but friendly place, with a nice selection of sandwiches made while you wait and soup of the day. Their hummus is one of the best around, and their dolmades (stuffed grape leaf) better than the "Greek" cafe along the block. Parmesan eggplant was OK - then again, I'm not a great fan of it anyway - and the tiramisu not bad. They sell Breadworks breads, but often better to order as they don't stock that much and they can run out. read more

This is a wonderful family owned business. I ordered 25+ wraps and fruit with a dessert to be delivered nearby for a meeting, and the folks at B&Z were great to deal with. Absolutely love this place. The service can be a little inconsistent. Some of the part-time help is not always up to par. Minor gripe. The food is delicious. The price is right too. It is a solid, comfortable, delicious deli! I recommend the Rachel/Reuben. It usually takes a few extra minutes, but it is worth it for certain. read more

B&Z Deli is getting one star from me... not because of the food. Boars Head is great. However, its sad to say but the older ladies are MISERABLE and rude, I will not return. They do get busy every once in a while, but even when there isn't much of a line they are still rude and just NOT friendly people.
