I do a lot of my shopping and errand running on route 8 and pass by this little place often, always wondering how the food is. Curiosity won today - this place is great!! I got half a hot Italian sub and my husband got the Philly cheesesteak. Both sandwiches came hot and were mouthwatering! We also got an order of onion rings (perfectly crispy, and make sure to get their onion ring sauce). Next time I'm craving a sub, I'm stopping here. I could hardly finish my half it was big! The ingredients were fresh and both subs packed serious flavor. I liked the Philly cheesesteaks sub my hubby got. Insanely cheesy and the meat is chopped up and so tender. The gentleman at the window was so friendly and ordering was easy. You can pull right up to the building and see the menu from outside. Very solid sub shop that gives huge cheesesteaks. It is a little store and it's pretty easy to miss, but a great spot to get a nice sandwich. I wanted to keep my order simple and try their cheesesteak with mushrooms, a salted caramel cookie, and a chocolate chip cookie. The sandiwchnitself was delicious. Packed with tasty mushrooms and juicy meat. Once again, the portion you get is substantial. And for $12, it's a fantastic price. Would definitely recommend. The cookies, though, were a bit of a let down. The cookies are not made in the shop and are bought from some place. They were kind of stale and not that flavorful. They were also dry. Simply Subs is amazing!! Unfortunately I haven't gotten any pics of my food because it's too good to wait. I've had a regular Turkey sub which was classic and delicious. I recently had the cheesesteak sub and WOW I was impressed. I added peppers and onions to it but honestly it didn't need it. It was truly amazing. They also have Slush Puppies which I really love. It's their version of a BBQ chicken sub or a Buffalo chicken sub if you're curious why there isn't a Buffalo chicken sub on the menu it's the chicken cheesesteak and then you can add the sauces you want to make it a Buffalo chicken. The staff is very friendly and good to have conversation with. It's take out only but the staff is quick with making the subs and they are very quality. After hearing about simply subs from many Pittsburgh friends we knew it would be a must try. We went today for lunch and were not disappointed! First- the staff are lovely. This is a takeout joint but plenty of people were enjoying their lunches in the spacious lot. Very social distance friendly! Second- the food was ready within 10 minutes. Quick fast and easy. We ordered a Blt sub and a hot Italian with mayo and hot peppers. Third- the food was absolutely fantastic. Haven't had a better Italian maybe anywhere. They use soft Mancini rolls and super fresh ingredients. The meat is fresh cut and the veggies were incredibly crisp. Overall I would recommend this place to anybody! I'm always on the lookout for a good cheesesteak. We've had Simply Subs' offerings a few times now and they're making one of the better cheesesteaks I've had in the Pittsburgh area. The meat is excellent and the bread is top-notch! Both the regular and chicken cheesesteak are delicious and everything is made to order, so you're getting the hottest, freshest sub they can muster. I have two minor gripes regarding Simply Subs. The first is their building / setup itself - you're ordering and picking up from a window. This isn't usually a big deal with seasonal joints, but Simply Subs is open year-round. On cold or rainy days you'll have to wait in your car. Again, this is a minor gripes and they soften this a bit by allowing you to order ahead via phone or online. My second minor gripe is price. You'll basically be paying $10 per whole sub. This isn't a deal breaker as the ingredients are of excellent quality, but these aren't the largest subs you'll ever have by any stretch of the imagination. All in all though, there's not much negative to be said about Simply Subs. They offer a straightforward selection of subs using high-quality ingredients and are made to order. If it's not a nice day outside, definitely consider calling ahead of arriving. You're in for a treat if you enjoy a good cheesesteak! read more

So the subs are ok. First is the Italian sub. It was good but way to much dressing on it made it a soggy mess by the time we made it home , not bad though. The cheese steak was average.
