She then gave me a very detailed facial extraction and a rejuvenating facial before sending me back to SF. After a few months back, I started looking for an esthetician per my aunt's urging and found Bandana at B-Beautiful. Her salon is very unassuming and located on the border of Chinatown. I really enjoyed my facial here with Bandana. She's lovely and professional. My facial visits here are soothing, relaxing and my face looks great after each visit. I currently do the 60 minutes personalized treatment and I try to do this every few months to keep up tho I think I may need it more often. Her rates are very reasonable for San Francisco. From $60 for 30 minutes of power resurfacing peel to $135 for a Nanofusion facial. Prices may vary due to customization and inflation adjustments as I am referring to her price list from 2024. I've been going to Jessica for 3 years now and she's awesome. It's a no frills beauty center but if you want someone who genuinely cares about your skin- Jessica's your pro! She has various packages (some including massages and masks) and depending on your skin type, she'll help recommend the best. She speaks 3 languages and is extremely accommodating if you need to reschedule or need something last minute. In addition, she also encourages you to take a look at your skincare. For example, if you have oily skin (like me)- she'll encourage you to use products that help alleviate the problem. She's shown me a lot of really interesting chemistry-type experiments on some of my every day products. She did an excellent job. She uses thread (threading) and to be honest, I like it better than waxing. It was just .... alright. I didn't have the expectation of a high end salon, but I did have an expectation of basic things like a clean room or a place to put my clothes and backpack or a closed door for when I am changing back into my clothes. The room was kind of dirty, with dusty surfaces, and a stained carpet. The wraparound robe I was given also had stains on it. I wasn't given a box in which to store my belongings, so I just put them on the floor. When she finished the facial, she walked out and left the door wide open, even though I was supposed to change back into my clothes. The facial was average, not terrible, but not anything outside of someone rubbing some products onto your face. I probably wouldn't come back again. read more

Jessica knows a LOT about skin care. She will tell you which package will benefit your skin, and consult you on skincare products (if you need them). I've been there for 3 facials already, and got so hooked I bought the 10-package deal to save $. She's very friendly and converses with me in Cantonese. Called around 10 AM and got an appointment at 3 PM on a Sat. I was pleasantly surprised. Easy to find with big "MAN LAI BEAUTY CENTER" on the windows. Walk in and there is a waiting area with a desk. Don't expect a full on spa or you'll be disappointed. For an extra $10 dollars, you get a 30 min massage. so my total was $50. Jessica is awesome with her hands. She first cleans your face then moves on the steaming. While she's steaming your face, she's massaging your face with a thick cream. Not sure what it was for but it felt good. Then she moves on to the extractions. I personally went in because I had A LOT of black heads and white heads popping out and wanted to get them taken out. BUT Jessica took about 3 mins and pulled out 3 blackheads and called it a day. She then moved on to the mask which was REALLY refreshing. After the mask, she asked me to turn around for the last 10 mins of my massage. All together, it was an OK experience. read more

I passed by this place a few days ago and decided to try it out today . The facial was not bad . There was a lot of massage which was nice but she pressed too hard on my pressure points too many times . There were no hot towels but the whole facial lasted an hour and a half which is nice because most facials last only an hour . The price was cheap ... only $40 !! I have been going here for years! The environment has changed a lot in the past year. Its much nicer now. Jessica (owner) is very attentive and takes her time to get your face as clean as possible. She introduced me to a skincare line that works perfectly with my skin. She is always on the lookout for products that work and are inexpensive. One of the best things about her is that she does not believe you have to purchase super expensive beauty products just to have great skin. After the 4th facial, I decided to write a review. My skin has never been "that" bad, but at a ripe old age of **, I still get the periodic acne that pops up wherever it wishes. The long-term "problem areas" I have are on either side of my face right below my cheeks. Big, I mean HUGE, pimples pop up there about twice a year. Throughout the decades, I've popped it numerous times and the end result are scares and dark hidden spots. So during my first two times here, Jessica (it's a one person show here) spent some time clearing/extracting whatever gunk has been trapped in those areas. Today when I went, she didn't have to do anything extra to that area. That area still has its minor residual scars, but it looks a lot darn better than it's ever been. Thank you Jessica! The 90-minute facial includes about a 10-15 minute neck and shoulder massage (I HATE it when I fall asleep during a massage!), steam, mask, extraction, eyebrow trimming (if you want), among others. Since she is the only person, she will occasionally have to answer the door and/or phone and I'm okay with that. It's a no frills establishment and no pushy effort for you to buy any products. I was very pleased with my experience. Once I arrived I rang the doorbell and Jessica answered, behind me she locked the door. This was great, I felt safe and my belongings to, I could essentially leave my things wherever. My appointment started on time.
