The mental, emotional and psychological freedom she has given me is something I am grateful for beyond words. Her method is the only thing that ever worked. A strict diet for 2 months, with regular facials and her regimen, cleared my acne in about 3 months. After that there was peeling, peeling, peeling for another 3 months. Mirsada healed my lifelong skin condition within 6 months and I haven't felt this comfortable in my own skin since I was a kid. The key is to STICK WITH IT. It was not easy, it was not always pleasant. But you know what? It worked!!! What I tried before Mirsada: going to literally 10 different dermatologists over decades, Accutane (twice - worked while taking but then came back afterward), spironolactone, every diet imaginable (vegan, raw food, vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free), cleanses (liver, kidney, colon, master), every topical prescription on the market, hormone balancing (including testing and naturopathic recommended supplements), DIM, progesterone cream, Zinc, collagen, Maca, skin supplements, cod liver oil, probiotics, prebiotics, eating fermented food with every meal... I literally can't remember all the things I tried for 3-6 months each, to no avail. Some will say she is expensive. She's not for the service she provides. I've had facials from many estheticians - her prices are competitive and the quality and time she spends is unmatched. Do not waste your time and money trying something else. I wish I found her years ago, but I am so grateful I finally did. Thank you Mirsada you truly are a miracle worker.

Absolute worst experience. My daughter left & broke down in tears…read more Sadly we had very high hopes for this spot. The pictures looked cute & most of the reviews were promising. I brought my teenage daughter there & immediately, when we pulled up to the address, something seemed very "off". The building looked like a squatter house on a very run down block from the outside. We decided to just give it a chance. It turns out it is an apartment building, which also felt odd vs and office space or the like. After being buzzed in we walked down a dark hallway of appts where a man could be heard yelling at someone on the phone. At the very end of the hallway a figure ushered us into the skincare space which looked NOTHING like the inviting photos online. It was a vast room with fake plants stacked on one side of the very long room & a couch on the other. For a brief moment I was actually frightened we may have been led into a dangerous situation, as it seemed impossible that it was a legit skincare office. My daughter felt precisely the same precarious energetics & was palpable nervous. She was led very abruptly into a smaller room where the one chair + tray of euipment looked as though it was ancient & almost staged, not at all in frequent use, then abruptly back to the couch. The woman was startlingly direct, abrupt, sharp, & cold. We accepted this as just her demeanor & continued to have high hopes despite the landslide of signs. At first the woman told us ny daughter's forehead bumps were a very mild/easy case before awkwardly flipping through a book of photos to show us a picture of a girl with a burned forehead & explained that burning would be key. Fine. She then continued to explain that it would be thousands of dollars to handle this "mild" case, plus another 600$ for products that we would NOT be able to even try a sample of for a few days before investing in. She was livid that I would even suggest a 3 day trial would be great before diving into her 600$, non refundable, cream that she refused to show us. When I thanked her for her time & explained that we simply didn't have the 3k plus 600$ on the spot with no real plan/products to sense/see, she became furious & soooo defensive. She told me that if her daughter had acne she would "fly to New York" if need be to handle it, which felt so enormously insulting. She then lashed out & told us that if we didn't trust her line/methods, sight unseen, we should leave immediately. I agreed. I said that the whole encounter felt more strange than anything I had experienced in such a setting before. It was downright creepy, predatory, condescending, unsupportive, & worrisome. My daughter, who is a super chill & centered spirit was balling her eyes out. We actually ran down the hallway & out to the car. I am sorry to say that no matter how impactful the VERY pricey protocol may be (or not) nothing felt worth the palpably scary, abrasive, & seemingly manipulative experience. Zero bedside manner. Zero warmth. Zero compassion. Zero professionalism. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. She then lashed out when I said that many places/lines understandably have smaller portion prod The bedside demeanor was a minus ten.

I waited a couple months to see how my face would recover. Microcurrent is supposed to be "non-permanent" noninvasive lifting effect. This person permanently changed my face shape, shortened my chin and jawline in an unflattering way, my face is significantly smaller in length/width/volume, it's unnatural and asymmetrical. I deeply regret being under this esthetician's hands. After research, a chemical peel should NOT be used with microcurrent technology, they are contraindicated unless at least 2 weeks apart and I don't know why this person puts them together with this "Uplift facial" which includes chemical peel before microcurrent. The chemicals are pushed into the skin tissue further with the microcurrent, eating away at healthy facial tissue and causing major volume loss. The areas where my jaw and neck attach look so weird, there is so much missing. (They replied claiming it's a "superficial" peel but peel they used removed my freckles and pigmentation, which is obviously chemical) The experience has been very traumatic. I don't really write reviews on Yelp but wanted to warn anyone looking for microcurrent to just go to a med spa or facility that does them more regularly, don't go through what I'm going through...

After researching a few different…read moremedispas, I chose City Laser because of the combination of RN staff as well as pricing (middle of the range). A package of 3 sessions cost $1350 - each session would normally be priced at $500, so $10% off with the package. As a previous reviewer wrote and what prompted me to add my own review, the whole session was haphazard. I am a microneedling veteran for over 5 years, and have been home-needling + one session at a dermatologist to address some old atrophic acne scars. I thought continuing professional treatments would be the key to seeing more improvements. Wild occurrences with Rena the owner include: being asked to put on my own numbing cream with no real instructions even after asking specific questions, no verbal explanation of what was being done or when we were starting, microneedling over my neck which I specifically said was NOT a focus area and thus did not put numbering cream on (ouch!), a total of less than 5 min of microneedling without changing depths over more severe scarring areas, and forgetting every time that I did not want blood drawn for PRP. Most of the appointment, which never lasted more than 30 min total including numbing cream self application and waiting for it to kick in, was Rena bragging about her kid and other clients who supposedly come to her exclusively (including calling out specifically trans and minorities like this was a collector's display case). I was seriously flabbergasted at what I was experiencing and wanted to finish my 3 sessions ASAP. Have seen no visible improvement after 2 years. Some of the mask and facial cream freebies were nice, but unfortunately not worth $1350! Highly recommend shelling out a bit more to go to a licensed dermatologist.

I've been coming here for about 8 years now, not so much because I particularly like this place but…read morebecause I like to make getting a facial a routine (about once a month). Jenny's Skin Care is an appointment-based business. One of my biggest issues here is the waiting. Even if I have an appointment, I still start 10 minutes after my appointment time (sometimes an additional 10-20 minutes if she's running late). Sometimes if she's overbooked, she tends to rush your procedure and isn't as thorough. Finding her business can be a bit tricky. It's one of the several businesses inside a building for Far East Trading Co. The other businesses in the first floor sell mostly the cheap clothing/jewelry that you'll find in all other Chinatown stores. There should be a banner out front for Jenny's Skin Care, but it can be easily missed with everything else hanging outside. In order to see the actual entrance for Jenny's Skin Care, you have to walk into the first floor of the Far East Trading Co. building and head straight down the narrow walkway/hallway (the businesses are lined up along both sides of the walkway). Walk all the way almost at the end of the hallway and you'll see a single glass door on the right where you'll see a banner identical to the one on the outside of the building. If the glass door is locked, you're going to have to call the number provided on the door (or the number from the banner that can be seen through the glass door) to reach Jenny so she can unlock it for you. If the glass door is unlocked, then head into the hallway and up the stairs that lead to another glass door, where you'll see Jenny's desk, couches, shelves of skincare products, and magazines in a clear coffee table in the lobby area. Jenny is the owner and performs all the facials. (Jenny's Skin Care also has a person that does body laser treatments that reduces visible fat & sculpts, but I have never tried these treatments because they're pricey and, for the most part, only the elderly women in Chinatown use this treatment.) Her facials are very helpful in removing pimples, preventing acne scarring, and cleaning my face thoroughly. She first steams your face to open your pores, and while this is going on, she may clean your face and/or put a cooling gel-like substance on dry parts of your face so the hot steam doesn't make your face burn. Then she uses a two sided metal stick (one end has a sharp-tipped needle and the other end is looped) to poke and pluck those pimples/whiteheads/blackheads out. She has other numerous machines that help with the procedure, such as one that helps close up the open wound from larger pimples, one that helps remove difficult blackheads that she couldn't scrape out, and so on. She is very understanding of the pain you're undergoing during this procedure and checks with you to see if you can handle her doing it anymore. She stops immediately if you tell her or give her any indication that you can't take it. It helps that she plays some soft jazzy/light rock/romance instrumental music in the background during facial procedures. (For older women, she also helps massage neck & shoulders in addition to the standard massaging of the face like all other customers.) Next, Jenny prepares a custom mask for your skin type, and after she spreads it evenly over your face, she'll leave you to rest (I typically sleep) for 20-30 minutes so the mask can set and work its magic. This part of the facial experience is usually a hit or miss for me. I can sometimes have a very peaceful, calming half hour sleeping through soft, soothing music; other times, I'll be trying to rest/sleep but won't able to because I can hear Jenny and other customers/visitors speaking very loudly in the lobby area (normal volume for those who speak Chinese). Jenny speaks very little English so addressing your concerns to her in English might not always work. After roughly half an hour has passed, she will return to wipe the mask off your face and apply any finishing touches (additional moisturizer, creams for acne, etc.) before you get up to pay and head out. My facials typically cost around $60 each, but my family members have been sharing a prepaid package for years and that rate may be a result of that package price. Moreover, my facial is a standard/basic one (for the everyday issues such as oily T-zone, dry areas on cheeks, occasional blackheads/whiteheads that need to be removed, acne issues, and so on). I know that other middle-aged women have come in to be treated with anti-aging kind of procedures and those can run $80 or more. All of Jenny's products are Asian brands, but they're very well-known trusted brands (i.e., T&J, SK-II, etc.). Overall, I'd recommend giving her facial a try (I can't argue with the results). If you liked any of the products she used, ask for a sample! Also ask for validation on the 1st hour for your parking stub from Washington Sq. parking lot!
