Experiential learning! Multi-dimensional. A Wild Experience That Inspires This experience encourages deeper reflection on the future of our planet's animal species--without ever leaving the world we know. It offers an up-close look at animals whose existence is threatened, and whose survival depends on the efforts of organizations like B. Bryan Preserve and others working together to provide refuge and care. You'll ride in safari-style vehicles--an adventure kids will absolutely love. Unlike traditional wildlife parks where animals are viewed from afar, here you'll find yourself within arm's reach. There's even an unforgettable opportunity to feed the giraffes! I truly believe that giving children this kind of first-hand experience helps them grow into compassionate stewards of the natural world. It makes the importance of protecting all living species feel real, personal, and urgent. We were pleasantly surprised and loved the tour, we just wished our grandchildren were with us. A thoughtful experience, education and fun rolled into one. Great staff all around!

What a unique experience located in a small town! My best friends and I opted for the guided safari tour, which I would highly recommend. They have a small fleet of vintage Range Rovers where you feel like you're on an actual safari. The guides were very knowledgeable and I learned so many things about all the animals located here. The giraffes were definitely the highlight! Each group is assigned a giraffe with a guide and each person gets to feed them lettuce. Up close and personal experience. It was amazing!

What a great place, perfect for a visit. I learned a lot. NOTE: you must schedule ahead of time, no drop-ins!! We got to see several zebras and other hoofed animals from Africa. Wow! In our party of - most people have come before! The docents are great- knowledgeable and caring. And interns are part of this group, so young people are helping out and learning hands -on skills. What a great place to learn, see, and ask questions about these wonderful animals that you wouldn't see Up-Close ... unless you spent a month on Safari!! Perfect for all ages, not much walking, and your tour is in vintage Land Cruisers. A gathering place - at the start- is full of interesting artifacts... then you are able to see the real animals, grazing, raising young and hear stories from the docents. I loved this adventure in Pt. Arena!!

Really enjoyed this secluded very tucked away little adventure. So beautiful what they have been doing all these years. It's so amazing! I wish the tour was longer...especially feeding the giraffes! That was absolutely amazing!

My family and I enjoyed the self-guided tour in our own vehicle. We loved the ease and comfort of going at our own pace. Our children ages 10 & 6, both enjoyed feeding the Giraffe. Everyone we encountered was either helpful, friendly, informative, or all of the above. A wonderful place to support.

We had the most amazing experience here for my bachelorette party! The B. Bryan preserve went above and beyond for us. I cannot recommend this experience more. You can tell the care they have for each animal. Wonderful experience. I cannot recommend it more! Thank you B. Bryan team

My wife and I were looking for something different to do while vacationing In Mendocino county. She came across B Bryan Preserve. We decided to try this African hoofstock preserve on the Mendocino coast. Reservations were easily made through the website (reasonably priced), we chose the guided tour for 3/21, arriving about 15 min prior to the start time, we were welcomed by the staff, and started the tour early as we were the only two guests that had registered for the tour. It's busier on the weekends, according to the staff. The docent (Tay) was very informative and willing to share with us her knowledge of African hoofstock. To top off the tour we were able to hand feed one of the 4 gigantic giraffes B Bryan has on its preserve. It's well worth the price o f admission.

If you're thinking about booking a tour, 100% go ahead and do so! I had such an amazing time on this safari. Learned so much and got to feed the giraffes! The guided tour takes about 1-1.5 hours and is worth every minute. Would highly recommend for all ages.

A must visit if you love animals and want to learn about African Hoof stock that is endangered. Tours are so informative. You can book overnight stays in antique filled cabins and if you want a real treat, paint with the giraffe. Go, you'll have a fantastic time.

Our kids had a good time on the self-guided tour and we left with some cool giraffe paraphernalia. The zebras were probably the surprising highlight! We never did see the bison listed on the map and only really got to meet and feed one of the giraffes on-site. It's possible our timing was just off and they'd had their fill of leaves! But we only met one and caught a glimpse of two others behind a shed!

If you're in Point Arena, don't miss this! And spend the extra $10 for the guided tour - it's totally worth it. We did the afternoon tour, and even though it was cold and windy, we got to see a lot of animals. The guides were fantastic and you finish the time feeding giraffes. We loved every minute!

Hi, has anyone gotten married here? I will obviously reach out to them when I have a better idea of our plans, but I wanted to see if any of the community has had a wedding there?

We had a wedding here several years ago. We are not set up for big weddings, but please contact us if it is something you are interested in. We have also done bridesmaid events where they paint with the giraffe or things like that.

We chose to stand on the outside deck of the train. It was a bit windy, I recommend bringing a jacket. The train ride to the Blair Bar was 20 minutes. Once we arrived the views were spectacular! It wasn't time for sunset just yet but once the sun started going down the lights became more vibrant. We immediately walked over to the bar to grab a drink. We ordered 2 old fashioneds and they were nicely poured with a good amount of whiskey. There was live music, and tons of seating around warmers and large fire pits. They offered s'mores kits and light snacks. The pits do get a bit crowded. We couldn't get a seat until the 9pm train left. Which opened up some spots around the fire pits. The whole experience was great. It made me feel like I was in a scene of Virgin River! Definitely recommend if you're ever visiting the Mendocino or Fort Bragg area of Northern California.

They are smooth, quiet and comfortable with full back support. Previous bikes had a tractor type seat with no back support. The new seats are firm so you might want to bring some padding. I talked with them about this and they were very receptive to me. Since they are electric with pedal assist, we decided to use the electric motor the entire distance. That way we focused on the experience 100% and it was delightful. A perfect, personalized lunch was provided, which added to the experience. Safety is top priority with them so with several road crossings, some with crossing arms/signals and some without, excellent care was taken to make the crossings safely. Our guide was Atlas and he was training 2 new employees. Everything went perfectly! All three of them were so kind and constantly wanted to attend to everyone's needs. I recommend you take the rail bike tour, sit back and enjoy the ride. Just imagine the amount of work that went into making the rail line over 100+ years ago. With the bikes, you sit just above the rails and can marvel at what it took to build this and any rail line. You will have a new appreciation for all railroads. You wind your way through the hills and I believe I read there is a section of the line that winds over 8 miles to actually travel a straight line of 1 mile. It is an engineering marvel. Enjoy!!!!! I attempted to make a reservation for the harbor tour with Captain Dan for my anniversary. When I called I reached a voicemail inbox and began to leave a message, but in the middle of it someone picked up - no greeting or other info, just a very brusque "hello?" Out of simple curiosity I asked if they ever do whale watching trips at other times of year, but was abruptly interrupted by the person shouting, "why doesn't anyone ever look at the website, we don't do that here!!" I was so taken aback that I apologized and hung up. The tour genuinely looks like it would be lovely and I was interested in what Captain Dan would be able to tell us about! Booking online was super easy, we were sent a confirmation email with a number to call to confirm our tour time. Since the availability of the tour in really dependent on the tide, we did call back a couple weeks ahead to confirm and pay for the tour. Kristin helped us though the process and made it really easy and painless. Captain Dan was super nice. I appreciate all the stories and knowledge he shared about the harbor, who does what in each boat, the surrounding properties, his time in Alaska, and more. Such great conversations. We got pretty lucky because there was a couple boats selling tuna and cleaning fish so there was a lot of sea lions and seals around waiting for fish. We were on an electric boat, so it was really quiet and didn't scare away the marine life and we were able to get up close. We got to see lots of beautiful birds, he had even told us which ones to watch because they dive down and catch fish. And we did see one catch a fish! It was so cool. Such an amazing experience we'd go again the next time we're out in the area. I definitely recommend!

Come early and enjoy a beautiful hike in the redwoods with barely a crowd! Morning drive to Mendocino made us make a pit stop at Hendy Woods State Park as we heard there were beautiful spots of Redwoods that we must check out before going on our way. Pay fee was $8 dollars to get in which wasn't the worst but as we kept driving, we got a little worried about where the Redwoods were as a portion of the drive looked pretty sparse & dry. But worry not, once we got very deep into the drive near the end where the hike begins, the trees started popping up everywhere! Trail was clean and so much greenery everywhere, from the tall Redwoods to the short ferns growing all over the place. We stumbled upon a massive felled Redwood tree which was perfect for photo captures. This place is a perfect spot to stop by if you want to spend a couple of hours soaking in the fresh air and nature!

You can relax at a shaded table, dip your toes in the Russian River, or view a collapsed tunnel at this half way point. You will also have the option when you book this to purchase lunch ahead of time that you can enjoy at the half way point if you would like.
