Almost every time we order extra sauce light cheese we end up getting barely any sauce and a disgusting amount of rubbery cheese.

My iced latte was perfect, and the bakery treats that we tried were very tasty. I had a peanut butter cookie - perfectly sweet and chewy. My friend had a blueberry turnover and a cappuccino. It did not disappoint this time we ordered a breakfast sandwich a couple muffins, cookies and a loaf of the cinnamon swirl bread it was to die for we've had it for breakfast each morning up here in the upper Peninsula at our campsite. This is a great spot to stop and get your specialty coffees, bakery goods, breads sandwiches, and even breakfast specials, the service this time was not as friendly as we've known it to be in the past they weren't very busy. There was only one of customers we just weren't quite sure if she was just having a bad day but otherwise it's clean, friendly a clean bathroom and plenty of offstreet parking all the way around. We pull a trailer so we were even able to get a spot right in front to park. I like the diversity when we visit 2 the Moon bakery as well as their peanut butter cookies they are excellent and not too sweet. My husband had the morning oatmeal cookie that had apricots, cherries, coconut and chocolate chips...he ate those in the car as we drove further north. He said they were the best he's ever had. When we look for a place to pick up our breads or baked goods, we always look for something local that is quiet, calm, and relaxing, but still produces an excellent product 2 the Moon Bakery hits it all.

Sure would have been nice to have been told about that prior to ordering drinks and appetizer. And honestly, if you run out of burger, there are plenty of places to pick up some ground beef within a mile of their place. Also out of tea. How do you run out of tea? Get a tea bag and add some water. I guess it is easier to just be lazy and do nothing. Lastly, the bartender is quite the snippy one. I don't think this place has a thought of the customer though from the other reviews I see. Food Well, my wife did get the French Dip. Meat to bun ratio was definitely in the bread and their profit margin side. I'll attach a photo. More like a bread sandwich. Fries are really good. The jalapeño nails were ok. They say they prepare them there, but they sure tasted like frozen and fried. I'll defer to them saying it's in-house, but that isn't saying much for them then. So, 50/50 on the food. Service is not good like others are saying. And it takes forever to get the simplest of menu item. There are a bunch of nice places in Lake City. If I were visiting, I'd avoid this place and take my $$ elsewhere. I read another persons review that the owner was drinkin' in his place and being less than cordial around his customers. I got that vibe all day long here. Your choice. Just saying.

Ordered the Angry Jack Hammer with bison substituted for the beef patty. Cajun seared, fire roasted jalapeños, pepper jack, chipotle sauce -- it had a great kick without being overwhelming. The bison was a nice touch, leaner and cleaner than a standard burger but still packed with flavor. If you're passing through northern Michigan, this place is worth the stop. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

I had philly cheesesteak in Portobello mushroom cap with fries. The steak in mushroon was good and steak was tender. The fries however way salty. The fat was as white as paper. The meat cold to the touch. I asked the waitress to have it warmed. When it returned it looked much better and was the right temperature and appearance. However, it was terrible. The meat tasted old and had a tinny taste to it. My wife absolutely enjoyed her chicken dish and we enjoyed out meal with friends. When I paid the bill I let the waitress know that the prime rib didn't improve and was terrible. She apologized and gave a small discount on the bill. Unfortunately, this is the second bad prime rib I have gotten at the Fox Den. I am not picky and just want consistency in a restaurant. For over $30 you have a consistent product or don't offer that item. Since you advertise it as a restaurant specialty you should really stand behind the quality a little better. Maybe offer to replace it with a fresh cut. Overall, I am sure we will go there again, just not as often. PS I commented on one of their ads on Facebook and they deleted by comment without a response. Mistakes are made, own it and improve on it.

There was an option for crab legs ($20 extra) and you could tell some cooks to make a bowl of pasta. What made this bad was quality and quantity. If there had been more options or better quality, it would've been nice. Cakes were hard on the outside, pie was just canned pie filling with a premade crust cracker, Mexican foods were dry and rank below store bought premade. Service was good- for the single waitress working at dinner time. She was stressed and struggling. Ambiance was fine. It was clean and looked like it was a better quality place than it was. Overall, it's probably a fine place to eat if you're drunk and having fun, but don't go out of your way to eat here.
