This specific firm seems to abide by social cliques and favoritism, making it difficult to collaborate as a team and move up in positions. The lack of respect, synergy, and compassion has hemorrhaged quality workers. Their lack of staff (BTs/BCBA) is due to: Abrupt schedule changes, extensively watching you work through cameras, hostile training, CEO/BCBA shifting blame to BTs, and inability to give a WELL DESERVED promotion. There is a lot of restraints/holds that are not documented or shared. CEO/BCBA has dual relationships with certain clients and is NOT proactive with their clients. If you agree with how they treat their employees, imagine the impact they have with your child. They have withheld information to parents about what happens in the workplace, and has had the police called on them to IMMEDIATELY share a report to insurance and to parents. Look somewhere else! This forced plenty of Behavioral Technicians to spread their ethics very wide, while simultaneously being gaslighted, micromanaged, and exploited. This is a toxic, passive aggressive, workplace that does not hold empathy for their employees. You will exhaust your efforts working alongside the incompetent CEO/BCBA. The micromanagement and dishonesty due to their lack of mentorship has driven many people out of the company. Here's a piece of advice: Treat ALL of your colleagues with kindness, they are the backbone of your company. Turn your attention to your clients best interests and continually build rapport. Don't bite off more than you can chew! Projection is uncanny in the workplace.

Julian's journey began with his initial assessment and eventually to in home therapy. He was assigned 3 therapists including 1 supervisor. They (Ari, Claudia, Joy, & Paulina) are blessings!!! They connected with Julian but also became our teachers! They helped all of us with Julian's needs and how to understand what he was seeking, whether it be physical or emotional. As a parent with a child with autism, sometimes it's too easy to become frustrated and lose hope in any progress they may not meet. An example was my son's eloping. His father and I had no clue how to predict it or manage it. We would all take excursions to our local mall and his therapists were there with us the entire time. We learned to predict when he would run off, and why. He was seeking attention and sometimes just over stimulation so we learned to ask him to use verbal and non verbal cues of where he wants to go. Fast forward to three weeks ago while visiting an outlet shopping center (yes we wore masks) and we practiced all of those steps and he didn't elope! Had it not been for Big Solutions I would not see us going out with much ease as we have been. This is an agency that turned our life around and became part of our family while maintaining their professionalism. Big Solutions ENTIRE staff, from scheduling to in home, were amazing and extremely accommodating. They consistently helped Julian with communicating in various ways and adjusting to unexpected changes that happened every day. Big Solutions also helped us as parents in not give up and letting frustration and fear run our lives. They taught us so much and how to cope with unexpected outbursts and helping our son focus on his school. Nayfee, who was on his case for almost 3 years, is one of the best in the field. She never wasted a second during a session. She taught him how to eat, play, talk, change clothes, deal with emotions and literally everything that is essential for day-to-day life. I often joked that I didn't raise him, SHE raised him, but honestly what she did for him is a big part of his being. BCBA's and other therapists were also fantastic. Corporate run facility…read morein a sterile environment that is geared solely toward treating teenagers and not adequately setup to support adults facing real life issues who are admitted as part of the entire insurance industry scam that takes place these days. Be sure to adequately read all of the fine print during your intake process, as their admitting staff is very sneaky in the ways they pressure you to sign with them. It was like I was being prosecuted by two defense attorneys when I was undergoing my initial intake procedures with CBH - formerly insight. Read the other reviews on insight and you will get a true feeling of how the facility is still poorly run today. Care quality can be vastly improved, as one of the therapist is not even licensed and still trying to acquire their mandated hours while working on the job and providing treatment. The level of therapy is self evident and not up to par with previous therapist I've worked with outside of CBH. The actual facility itself is cold, grey and white in color inside and is essentially a former concrete warehouse turned into an office/therapy setting. Epic failure if you ask me. Their are three windows to the outside world from the inside, there are clear enamel covered concrete floors, and do be fresh white paint slapped on the walls to give the fake appearance that the facility was recently remodeled. C'mon now, anyone can apply a bandaid over a wound to hide the truth the lies beneath. The doors and sound proofing between therapy rooms are so poor that they have to use "white noise machines" to mask your therapy sessions from other clients to abide by HIPPA rules! Just buy areal solid wooden door and use weather stripping and endure your office doors seal adequately and add some carpet to each room and they will be more sound proof. It doesn't take rocket science to see that the facility management is poorly run at CBH. Kaiser Permanente and UCLA have better run and managed IOP programs if you do your research. It is unfortunate as the staff really try their best; however they really are just reading off scripts quite often in group therapy sessions and it's apparent when you are enrolled in the program that there is plenty of room for major improvement in their IOP program overall. Corporate run facility that is in the money making business, not healthcare industry! There is no empirical evidence nor data that can back up their claims that they are truly interested in treating each of their clients uniquely difficult mental health diagnoses. Some of their external staff has even mentioned that the Van Nuys facility is lacking far behind in comparison to the Pasadena, Los Angeles, and Manhattan Beach or Redondo Beach locations. There is definitely vast amounts of room for improvement in this facility. For the amount of money they charge your insurance, you'll never be able to receive that same expected level of mental health care at CBH.

We saw our son's confidence grow, he was able to make friends for the first time, he was challenged in a loving professional environment and we all grew so much. Before we started this program, our house was full of yelling, screaming, lying, slamming doors, suicide threats, running away, refusing to attend school, etc... Now, I'm here to tell you that no one is walking on egg shells anymore, this kid has straight A's in his Jr. year of High School. He is in the choir, does his homework without being asked, goes to school without complaint, and here are some real life quotes I literally NEVER thought we would hear: "Thank you so much, I really appreciate you" "Is it ok if I vacuum my room" (Almost fell over from this one) "Can I go to Six Flags with my FRIENDS?" His room being clean and grades looking good are just perks if you ask me. The real reward is seeing his confidence, hearing his laugh again, and how much love our home is filled with now.
