Clandestino - Looking towards the bar area

Clandestino has grown up, literally. What began as a small operation in Frederick has moved into a…read morelarger space, and the expansion suits them well. This is Puerto Rican pitorro, also known as ron cañita, made with care and intention rather than gimmickry. Many local liquor stores now carry the brand, and it is well worth picking up a bottle, but visiting the distillery is an experience in itself. The founder is a fellow Puerto Rican born retired military member, a background I share, and like me, he has put down roots in Maryland. That story is reflected clearly in the brand's own framing, "Puerto Rican born, Maryland made." The space feels grounded and unpretentious, and that sensibility carries through to the hospitality. We arrived late on a Saturday and were still welcomed warmly, never rushed. We were taken care of by the founder's daughter, who was exceptionally kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She guided us through a flight that included the traditional pitorro, almond, pineapple, coffee, coconut chai, and several seasonal offerings. The flavors were thoughtful and well balanced; even the infused expressions retained a clear rum backbone rather than drifting into novelty. We enjoyed them enough to leave with several bottles. This is artisanal pitorro done right, rooted in Puerto Rican tradition and confidently made in Maryland. Buying it locally is convenient, but going to the distillery is where the people, the story, and the spirit fully come together.

My lady ordered the beef enchiladas, and after the first bite she realized it just wasn't to her liking. We mentioned it to the manager right away since the dish had barely been touched, thinking there might be an opportunity to switch it out for something else. Unfortunately, we were told that due to their policy the item could not be removed from the bill and we would still need to pay for it. That was surprising because most restaurants are willing to work with you when a dish clearly isn't enjoyed after the first bite. The food here has usually been good, which is why this experience stood out. It just felt like there was a missed opportunity from a customer service standpoint to turn the situation around. Hopefully management considers being a little more flexible in situations like this in the future.

The most recent visit was this last Thursday Feb.12th 2026 in the evening. The wait time for a table was about 30 minutes, which not an issue for good cuisine, service & drinks. We sat at the bar till called for out table. We had a couple of excellent drinks before being seated. As always, we order the spicey Guacamole and it was fantastic "Again". The friend and I agreed that it's enough for two people to share as a meal. We were both full after it was gone. The server was excellent. She attended to us faithfully. I ordered the Chimichanga as I've done before. This time it was extremely dry and no sauce of any type on it. (I couldn't eat it) The refried beans were good, but a tiny bowl for $5.00. The included side salad was just glorified lettuce with some onions on it. The food is not authentic Mexican. The mixed drinks are priced on the HIGH END. $18 - $20 for a Manhattan. I don't plan on returning unless my friend wants to and if so, I will stick to the Guacamole.

When he finally did, the cocktails were easily the worst we've ever had -- completely undrinkable. This isn't a one-off; it's the third time he's served us, and every time the service and drinks have been awful. He seemed out of it -- distracted, unprofessional, maybe even under the influence. To top it off, he served my drink in a dirty glass. When I asked for a replacement, he just poured the same disgusting drink into another cup instead of remaking it. I had to insist he start over. It's such a shame because the bartenders on the other side of The Point are excellent -- friendly, attentive, and professional. This one bartender, however, drags down the entire experience and the bar's reputation. I won't be coming back.

There are three different areas. A dining area, a bar area and an additional bar area with a stage and dance floor. When I entered I was immediately greeted by the bar staff and sat at the bar. The menu was decent and offered tropical brunch foods. I opted for the chicken and waffles brown sugar waffles. The chicken came out as tenders which where cooked perfectly and tasted great. The waffle was amazing. The staff was attentive and very helpful. I had "The Son of Nutcracker"drink which was ok. They have a Jameson club, which I joined. It allows you to purchase a bottle of Jameson to keep at the bar for $75 after a $50 club membership fee. I enjoyed this place and will definitely be back. The only potential issue may be parking. I was able to get a spot on the street but can imagine finding a good spot on busy days might be a daunting task.

Delicious brunch creative classics on a Saturday at Easy Like Sunday :-)…read more We celebrated Mothers' Day at Easy Like Sunday in Roland Park, Baltimore. We were lucky to get a table for four at 11am on Saturday! Their menu offered creative versions of many classics: $22 Shrimp & Grits of medium-spicy shrimp & Andouille, cheesy-cheddar-grits, and a balanced savory trio of onion, shallots, and chives. Marvellous! Their generous $15 Avocado Toast: sculpted creamy Hass Avocado over bright arugula greens, next to fresh sourdough crunchy toast, with a dish of heirloom cherry tomato awakened with a tangy marinade. Art you can eat, at a nice price. A lovely $20.50 stack of Classic French Toast was chunky powdered sugar over perfectly grilled eggy syrupy brioche under a mound of light whipped-butter, with flavorful soft peach chunks and a large fresh mint leaf. It certainly was delicious! We had $19 light fluffy scrambled eggs over fresh greens and halved cherry tomatoes, with sausage links, over avocado-spread toast. Another delight. It was a calm, refreshing, relaxing brunch. I will say the price seemed a bit high, but it was worth it for the splendid experience among a cheerful, full, room and patio. Happy Mother's Day!

That is a very nice seating option; however, there was a private event occurring so I couldnt be seated at such. They also have a front patio seating option as well. I opted to be seated at the bar for this visit as well. The bartender was not as pleasant as my entrance experience and previous visit; however he was attentive. We ordered drinks and then proceeded witj our food ordering once we received our drinks. We ordered Expresso Martini and Reposado Old Fashioned. The drinks are amazing and 5*. We ordered our food Oversized burger and Pan Seared scallops over brussel sprouts. Our food came out hot and within reasonable time. The burger is NOT an oversized burger. Regular sized and the descriptive name is deceiving. The burger option was not anything to speak on as it was not to satisfaction but quelled the hunger moment. It was over cooked. The pan seared scallops came out with a strong "fishy" smell. They however were tasty and spicy. This was a small plate as it was only 3 scallops in total. Other then the strong "fishy"smell, they were tasty. We then ordered a limoncello and was of course satisfied as it was another great tasting drink. This establishment does not have a nice and variety food menu but you will never be disappointed with the drinks.
