Amazing cocktails and a wonderful place to have a deep conversation with a date. Great service for a special person in your life.

The Bluebird Cocktail Room is so cute I can't believe I haven't been here before! A gorgeous space, I loved the dark wooden tables and the community/casual -type seating. I love that the menu is like a story book with drink name as chapters, and you turn the pages to read the ingredients! Such a fun, creative touch and I hear the menu changes frequently so it's so cool that the names and illustrations must change as well! The person who took my order kindly helped me decide what drink to get, and it was a good choice! An interesting mix of carrot juice, ginger, gin, and various other ingredients that were unique but delicious together (and strong!)

Love the ambiance and decor! Had a stop here during girls night and it was a great time. We were given tasty drink recommendations and were checked on frequently throughout our time there.

I stopped by The Bluebird Cocktail Room to have a celebratory drink with a friend of mine. I fell in love with the ambiance as soon as I walked in. It's nice and dark and there's jazz playing. There are high chairs at the bar for you to sit or you can sit at the table in the middle. There's enough space where you can bring your laptop and get some work done if you wanted. Then there's a booth like bench around the perimeter with little cocktail tables for you to place your drinks and food. We sat in the corner, and I also noticed that there were some books as part of the decor and the book lover in me was eating it up. The ambiance was very cozy and intimate. Perfect setting for catching up with friends or a date night with your love or even the first date to get to know someone. We were going to be going somewhere else to get something to eat so I just stuck with the drinks. I ordered the preserved peach smash and it's for sure top 5 drink I've had in my life. I mean wowwwwww. It was so good we had to call the bartender over and see if we could get some insight on how the drink is made. It's peaches steeped in an herbal cordial with bourbon, lime, and maple. I mean ten out of ten definitely recommend. It seems like their menu is seasonal. This was their winter menu. So it may not be there depending on when you go. Quite frankly they need to offer this one year round cause it's that good. And it was only $13. You made it this far in the review go check them out.

I really enjoyed the place! Decoration, service and the cocktails was perfect. We met with the friends for couple of drinks before the dinner. Next time I wanna try bean dip for sure!

Was finally able to try out The Bluebird Cocktail room for my birthday, and definitely want to come back here! We had reservations and were seated quickly-- there was some bar seating and several tables that were open (probably because it was a Monday night). Our waiter was friendly and quick with our orders and drinks. We each tried different cocktails and while somewhat on the pricey side (I think they were each about $20), they were quite tasty! We also tried several of the appetizers (fries, white bean dip) prior to dinner, all were delicious. I personally got the burger for dinner, and it was seasoned and cooked well. The inside is really lovely, and I know there are other "rooms" or parts to the Bluebird that I want to try in the future! Parking was difficult to find, but that is pretty much everywhere in the area.

Back in 2019, the Blue Bird cocktail room was like the best place to go in Baltimore for cocktails. There's been a lot of changes obviously with Covid so I recently went back (stopping going for a bit) and was really surprised to see food on the menu. I forgot to take pictures, but we ordered the mushroom toast which was really good and their french fries which are kind of like the skinny fries. I feel like Blue Bird is back on the up and up and with the trying times we are living in 2025, cocktails are definitely coming back. I got their last word which is my favorite iteration of any cocktail and it was pretty good. Their vibes remain the same. It's a cool LIBRARY dark feeling bar, and the bartenders were really nice. It was pretty slow when we went and it was a Thursday night. This is in Hamden along the avenue, and I will definitely go back and post more pictures later.

I came here for a date on a Thursday night. It wasn't packed but just the right amount of people. The vibe is very sultry and intimate. Dim lights, candles, books, and warm atmosphere. I was met by the hostess right away when I walked up. She was nice and seated me. The waiter came over right away and he poured my water and then made small talk about the menu. He was also nice!! He was very good at giving suggestions and he was very attentive. I ordered the meatballs and they were just okay. I didn't really taste much spice at all and they could have been a little more moist. But the tomato sauce was good and the ricotta at the bottom. We ordered a few drinks throughout our date. Old fashioned, three dots and a dash, fiery sleepy head, millionaires obsession, and a kiss your ass. My friend really enjoyed his old fashioned, he had about 2. I love the three dots and a dash, I had 2 of those also. I also really liked millionaires obsession. The fiery sleepy head was interesting but not bad. He finished it but he did not like the kiss your ass. When I tasted it, I didn't like it either. The after taste is not good. Of course everyone's tastebuds are different so try the drinks out for yourself. You will spend some money here just based of drink prices alone, of course depending on what you get. But it's a great vibe and experience!!

The staff is super friendly. I've been here before, they have a sort of gastro-pub menu usually and a loaded cocktail bar. The food they served for the event was very tasty. Charcuterie and sliders and fries. It's like being in a dark speakeasy, I love it.

Bluebird is one of my favorite places to go on a solo date. It's dimly lit and is set up to give you a feel of a library with lamps on the table and old books stacked on each table in the middle. If you want a more intimate experience, there are tables against the wall perfect for a date night experience. They also have seats at the bar which I like sitting at sometimes as well. I love reading the detailed descriptions of the drinks each time that I go. It is especially cool because they switch the menus up often. All of the drinks are reasonably priced between $14-$20. To end the night I love enjoying the night breeze while sitting on the bench swings outside. I can literally stay at this venue for hours!

The cocktail bar is upstairs from Green Room, with cute swings outside, and a dimly lit, cozy, home library meets speakeasy atmosphere inside. My only issue is that the drinks and snacks we tried did not live up to the cocktail bar vibe (and prices). A good cocktail bar should have well balanced drink recipes on the menu, rather than throwing unusual ingredients together for the sake of being creative. I had a champagne cocktail off their winter menu, and the herbs de provence in their house made cordial gave a roast chicken feel to the sparkling wine, but would have been better with a stronger tasting spirit like gin or mezcal. We also shared the whipped ricotta and beets with honey. The beets were cut into large slippery chunks (larger than bite size) and piled in the center of the whipped ricotta, and roasted whole cloves of garlic were placed all over most of the ricotta along with the honey and olive oil, but the garlic/honey/beet combination just did not pair together well. The high points were that the service was good, the atmosphere was cute, and you get a nice 2nd story view of Hampden on the way in.

I had a lovely time exploring this cocktail room quietly located in Hampden. I ordered 2 drinks and they were delicious. However, my first cocktail, Whisper Me More, had the embellishments falling off, I thinks how they are clipped can be improved. I ordered the Bluebird Martini and it had a strong taste! I loved the presentation provided with the drink. Overall, service was smooth and the energy was vibing, I like the dark academia style in the interior. This is an excellent spot for date night or gather with friends.

I came here on a Wednesday night. Get ready to walk up some stairs as you enter! I love the vibe of the place, super low light with a victorian kind of vibe. They played a mix of old and new school pop music, which confused me because I didn't feel like it matched the ambiance. Sitting at the bar was a good time, the bartenders were nice and personable. My wife enjoyed her burger and the fries were tasty shoestring type. With that, I was not a fan of my drink. Charging $15 for a non alcoholic beverage is just baffling. It was more expensive than the drink my wife got that had actual alcohol in it. My drink just appeared to be just a glass of nonalcoholic Mionetto. The hummus had a very weird combination of ingredients (raisins and peanuts?) and the bread was quite flavorless. Won't be getting that again. Id definitely say still check it out, but I would have to try some different menu items.

Ask the Community - The Bluebird Cocktail Room

    Do I need a reservation?

You can make reservations but you don't necessarily need them! I've always found a seat at the bar when it's just me and one other person. If more than a party of 2 you might want to get the reservation just to be safe.

What is the dessert menu like?

Not really known for desserts. There were literally 2 things I think when we were there.

This is Puerto Rican pitorro, also known as ron cañita, made with care and intention rather than gimmickry. Many local liquor stores now carry the brand, and it is well worth picking up a bottle, but visiting the distillery is an experience in itself. The founder is a fellow Puerto Rican born retired military member, a background I share, and like me, he has put down roots in Maryland. That story is reflected clearly in the brand's own framing, "Puerto Rican born, Maryland made." The space feels grounded and unpretentious, and that sensibility carries through to the hospitality. We arrived late on a Saturday and were still welcomed warmly, never rushed. We were taken care of by the founder's daughter, who was exceptionally kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She guided us through a flight that included the traditional pitorro, almond, pineapple, coffee, coconut chai, and several seasonal offerings. The flavors were thoughtful and well balanced; even the infused expressions retained a clear rum backbone rather than drifting into novelty. We enjoyed them enough to leave with several bottles. This is artisanal pitorro done right, rooted in Puerto Rican tradition and confidently made in Maryland. Buying it locally is convenient, but going to the distillery is where the people, the story, and the spirit fully come together.

They walked us through the history and inspiration behind the cocktails and creations, which made the experience feel so much more personal. The atmosphere is lovely. I started with the Japanese Breakfast, which was tart and boozy, while my husband got the Pineapple Express, which had such a unique flavor. I didn't love the fizz, but he absolutely did! We then asked our server for recommendations and ended up with the Duck Season for me and the Spanish Moss for him. The Spanish Moss was a little too sweet for my taste, but the Duck Season was, without exaggeration, one of the most interesting things I've ever tasted. It was savory, rich, and deep, almost velvety and chocolate-like, despite not actually being chocolate. The entire combination of flavors was incredible. On our next visit, we sat outside, and the ambiance was just as wonderful. This time we tried a Stranger in Paradise and an I'm a Baijiu A Drink, and both had incredibly detailed and thoughtful flavor profiles. Between the cocktails, the staff, the atmosphere, and the fact that every drink feels like its own little experience, I absolutely cannot wait to go back!

For food we ordered the shrimp and corn patties, and the pan roasted salmon. The shrimp and corn patties were delicious. It was packed with multiple flavors and it was seasoned really well. It came with Ramen noodles that I thought were going to be temperature hot however, they came room temperature which was fine. They were seasoned very well. The ambiance was very nice.
