If the price sounds too good to be true then most likely it is. I've attached a picture to show you what kind of work you can get when they didn't account for the fact that there's not enough space for the bath tub. The installation guy Oscar noticed that the bathtub didn't have space so I saw him take the shutter and cut it up outside. He took it back inside and installed it.. THEN when he was done he asked for payment. I had told him no there are shutters that need to be fixed up and his solution was spraying white paint over the areas lol you get what you pay for! He knew I wasn't too happy because he said before leaving that there's a lifetime warranty but from the looks of previous reviewers, it doesn't seem like things get fulfilled. This has happened multiple times and demonstrates a complete disregard for homeowners' requests and local Camarillo solicitation ordinances. As some others suggested 1 star is too much for this company. Jim (owner), Kyle (owners son) and his two workers have all been horrible. Constantly pointing fingers at each other. His two workers blaming Jim and saying Kyle doesn't know anything. Kyle saying the two works are no good. Then Jim, the owner and the one who should hold himself accountable for the actions of his staff and his own actions likes to blame everyone else as if none of this is his responsibility. We hired them back in 7/2023 for shutters and blinds. The shutters were installed incorrectly with huge gaps where corner shutters met and sloppy touch up work. When I questioned their work they insulted other work at my house as if saying my standards shouldn't be that high. They made a mess and didn't clean it up. Jim and Kyle argued with each other in my home in front of me which lead to Kyle slamming my front door. No apologies for any of this. I am currently trying to get my motorized blinds fixed. They don't stop where they should and the resting position keeps getting lower and lower every day. Jim gives me an excuse that "he's at the mercy of the blinds company" even though I told him he can refund me my money and we can call it a day. No accountability. I can't imagine how they take any pride in their work if they can't hold themselves accountable. I will talk to my attorney and look into my legal options. I am a previous customer from years prior every time I make an appointment for a service repair I always get some type of excuse from the owners son (Kyle) he is the only repair guy that they have.(according to them) Not to mention he doesn't work saturdays and doesn't like to work past 12. Or sometimes shows up earlier than the appointment time and if we are not available he reschedules the Appointments. These people stay rescheduling appt. This company is very unprofessional. This is the second house I have used B Shutters and Blinds, First install was in 2010, and current install now in 2021 - and am still hugely impressed with the shutters at the price delivered. Jim V. is nice, straightforward, delivered as promised at a very reasonable cost. Our first go around we had a paint color issue caught during install that was handled no questions asked. Those shutters on the day we sold the house- after 11 years looked brand new despite the abuse of dogs and kids, and just living. They were my first choice this go around, and they did not disappoint. We did a total of 20 windows this go around. Ranging in size from 16"x23" to 96"x72" - No tilt rods, dual tilt, with frames in bright white. They look great. Showed up on time for both sales appointment and install date. We had an order modification that was easily and accurately taken care of by the office staff. Both of his sons were nice and courteous. The lifetime warranty was explained in detail, and both Jim and his son came to inspect the final install. The installers were clean, nice, and did a fine job. If I could give them a negative zero I would. My husband has been going back and forth with them for over a year trying to get one of our electric blinds fixed. They took it and its been over a year of lies, fake appointments, rudeness, no returns calls or text etc. We still don't have it back and there is gap in our Livingroom from where it was at. We paid over $2000 for our blinds and will be taking them to court. Have a 10 year guarantee on them that I will be using in court in addition to all the communication or lack of etc. Please beware people, they also have claims on the Better Business Bureau for the same thing. read more

I had a very bad experience with blinds and shutters and the owner Jim. He begged me to take down my bad review of him because it hurt his business and I did. He refunded a portion of my money to keep me happy and I told him even though it m not completely satisfied, I will take down my comments about the bad job his workers did. That was at beginning of 2018. After a year and half, I needed shutters for other windows at my house and I thought let's give this guy another chance to redeem his reputation. Called them on May 9th and they made an appointment for Jim to come out and see the windows and give us a price on May 15th at 3:00PM. At 2:55 PM on Wednesday May 15th, I got a call from him office telling me Jim said he will pass on the job!! WOW! Shame on me for trying to give you an opportunity to redeem your reputation. You are still the worst in town and I will make sure everyone knows it. Here is my review from the first experience in 2017-2018 Worst experience in my life. Their customer service is the worst in town. I ordered my shutters on October 7th, 2017 and the owner (he's name is Jim) was at my house taking the order and lied to me about their great product and customer service. They were supposed to install my shutters on 11/15/17 and called me dat before and told me they can't do it. Jessica who's the manager at the office was going to call me back the next day and tell me when they can install them but I didn't get a call back for 4 days and I had to call and follow up. They finally installed about a week late and everything was damaged. Scratches on every single one and they even damaged my walls and ceiling. I called and asked them to take them down and return my money. Jim (the owner) came to my house on 11/24 and told me he will fix everything and pay for the damages caused to my walls and ceiling as soon as I send him an invoice for it and I sent it in 12/4 and I'm still waiting for a response from Jim. They picked up one of the shutters to fix and installed back Friday night and it's still in a very bad shape and still damaged. I went to their office on Saturday to speak to Jim but he's nowhere to be found. DON'T BUY FROM THEM. BELIEVE ME THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS AND WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF. I waited a while to post this review because I wanted to see how the company would respond to my concerns and wanted to give Jim's company a chance to prove themselves. After many dissatisfying followups, I felt it was time to warn other potential customers. **Cliff Notes Save the headache and hassle by going with a more professional company who will get the job done right the first time. I was really rooting for B Shutters to do a great job. Tom was great to work with, the issues are with customer service, factory and installer quality control **Background My wife and I purchased a new home and a salesman by the name of Tom came to our house to offer us shutters. We have many vendors come by we were quoted $6800 for approx 30 windows (for wood shutters. We were given many other quotes, then Tom lowered the price to $6300 (just a few hundred under his competitors). We were told the shutters would be installed by 12/26 so my wife and I thought Tom was a great salesman to work with so we decided to go with B Shutters and Blinds. We were required to put a 50% deposit down when we signed the agreement on 12/2/18. At that point, I was told this was a large project and install date had to be pushed back to 1/17/19 (over a month and half later). The following day (Monday) I decided to review the company, which i usually do prior to making any large purchase. I saw how negative the reviews were and did not want to be another statistic of dissatisfied customers. I called Tom to cancel the contract and explained. He agreed and knew there were some concerns to be addressed but stated that people will typically post a review if they were not happy with the job, and you wont see a lot of people post positive reviews. I then said it would go a long way if someone from the co would respond to the neg reviews and make things right with the customer. Particularly all the bad reviews about the owner. He agreed and said that Jim (the owner) would call me directly to address my concerns and assure that this project would be a satisfying result. Jim called me the next day, unfortunately I wasn't available to answer his call so he left me a message. I appreciated the call and messaged him back and asked that I work with Tom if i have any questions. At that point, I decided to give this company a shot so I can leave them a raving review and refer them to my new neighbors. I am one to leave great reviews if I am a happy customer. I am one to leave neg reviews after giving the company several chances to make things right. **Install Day Fast forward to 1/17/19, the installers came and installed the shutters in the day. The problem with B Shutters is there is no quality control or oversight. The shutters were good from far (away) but far from good. There were chips on a lot of the lovers, cracks in the wood, misaligned frames, misaligned shutter doors, runoff paint etc you name it. Even after all this, I decided there wasn't a reason for me to do a review, I would call Tom and he would have them fixed or replaced. Tom came by a few days later after i marked nearly every single shutter that had issues. He agreed and said the work was sloppy and he wouldn't have this work in his house either. He took photos and sent them to B Shutters to schedule an appointment to repair. **Repairs B Shutters TEXTED ME saying they could have a tech come on 2/6/19 to do touch up work. The tech showed up and looked at the items that needed to be fixed. He touched up one or two windows but said this job was too big for him to do the repairs today and he was only there to inspect and report back on what needed to be fixed (something Tom had already done). The tech had another job so was only there a few hours. We had one window shutter that needed to be replaced per Tom's recommendation. It was cracked and the wood was bowed. The tech was told to take it down so they could do repairs. I told him no, I wanted a new one. He called Deanna at the office and told her that the customer didn't want the job "mickey moused" and wanted a new shutter. He ended the call and said he would mark that down on his sheet. He said I would be called the next day for them to schedule another appointment. I didn't hear anything back so decided to TEXT that same number that texted me to schedule my first appointment. I didn't hear back. I waited until 2/19 and finally decided to bother Tom again and ask how long a customer has to wait to be called to an appointment. He must have called the office because I was contacted the following day to make an appointment for 2/26 between 1-3pm. I took the day off from work so I can be present for the install. That morning at 10:30am I was TEXTED again saying their installer called in sick and would not make it. They agreed to have someone else out later in the week. They showed up today and did the repairs but still took the shutter that I wanted replaced. Ran out of room to finish this review but you get the idea. read more

Exercise caution when dealing with this company. Jim (the owner) has a very loyal staff who lie and and reinforce his terrible business ethic. We called Jim based on the recommendation of a neighbor who had a great experience with this company without reading any of the reviews beforehand. This is our experience with ALMOST getting swindled. My husband and I had Jim come out to give us a quote on plantation shutters. The time of our appointment came and went and after about 20 mins passed the appointment time I called the office. The receptionist informed me that he would be AN HOUR late (ok, no biggie, I had kids to put down for naps but again no big deal). I asked why I hadn't been called to be given a heads up and she said they had tried but the call didn't go through (highly unlikely, now after my experience I don't believe it to be true, but a possibility). Jim arrives about an hour and a half after our original scheduled time and completely sells me. He seemed like a nice older gentleman, was very talkative and seemed trustworthy. He also gave me a quote that seemed like a great deal on a product he sold as top quality, made locally, sold and installed by this wonderful family business he's ran for 40 years. I sign the contract and write the check for the down payment. He left my house and immediately deposited the check. However, that evening I was inspired to check Yelp in hopes of showing my husband a customer photo of the shutters since he had to go back to work due to the appointment being pushed back. What I read shocked me and I immediately regretted doing business with this man. However, the contract I signed stated I could cancel my order within 3 days and get my full deposit back. I called the office the following morning and immediately canceled. The receptionist let me know Jim didn't come in that day and would need to sign the refund check. I called the following day to confirm that my order was canceled and that I would get my money back. The receptionist assured me the check had been put in the mail. I called the following Monday afternoon after not receiving anything in the mail and the receptionist changed her story and said that the check had actually been sent out that morning. At this point I felt like I was getting the run around but I decided to wait a couple more days. By Wednesday I hadn't received a check. I had communicated with some other disgruntled customers on Yelp and realized others also had money taken from them. I called the office for a last time and notified them that because of the amount, Jim had committed Grand Theft and that I was ready to either pick up a check or file a Class Action Lawsuit. The receptionist called me back and notified me that I had 30 minutes to pick up the check because they were closing early. Luckily, my father in law got there in time and the check cleared. I can confidently say that this company had ZERO intention on actually returning my $1,300 deposit. However, I'm lucky I got it back unlike other innocent people who are still waiting.
