During the initial visit they came out to take measurements. I let the employee know that I specifically wanted the mid rail of my shutters to line up with the mid rail of my windows (they are the type that slide up to open) so he took extra care to make sure everything matched up. A few weeks later they returned to install the shutters. I've had them for about a year now. I recently called them for a warranty repair (a couple of the frames were rubbing together, likely due to settlement) and they came out within a week and fixed them free of charge. Overall just a very solid experience. They're a responsive, no hassle company and their products are well priced and good quality.

I only had issues with the plastic hardware cracking and needing to be replaced. I called the office and asked about the cost of just the hardware. To my surprise, the person I spoke with didn't ask how many pieces were broken; he asked for my address, and a few days later I received the hardware. The replacement hardware he sent was generous. Now, that's what I call exemplary customer service and satisfaction!! I will call again soon for another quote.

Abraham took down my old blinds and installed the shutters. Then Josselin "worked her magic" to patch holes on the wall from the old blinds. My home looks better and feels more upscale. I decided to move forward to have my kitchen, bedroom and office hallways installed with plantation shutters. The work is absolutely wonderful and the shutters really have improved the look of my home. Having said that, there are two major negatives which led me to give four stars and not five. The first, albeit somewhat minor but annoying, is that they didn't clean up the area of their work leading to me finding screws and other items (from pulling down the old shutters). The second and more major one is that in the bedroom, they clearly made a mistake from the time they came to measure to the actual installation. As you can see from photos, the bed is in the way so the left shutter should be the one to come out first. When Mike came, he accurately mentioned this but the actual shutter was that the right one is the one that comes out first (and which is problematic because the bed is in the way) and the left cannot come out because the right one is held back by the bed post. I think they realized it during install but just didn't bother. Having said that I would actually use them again but would definitely keep an eye on them to make sure the order came out right.

We first worked with Rick 6+ years ago when we moved into our home. He installed shutters in our bedrooms and office, and they've held up beautifully. I remembered how professional and on top of everything he was, so I reached out again when we needed blinds for our bedroom. Jeremy and Parker came out for measurements and made the whole process incredibly easy. They walked us through options, gave thoughtful suggestions, and provided an estimate. All in about 10-15 minutes. About two weeks later, they returned for installation and were done in under 5 minutes. Everything was seamless. The best part is how it turned out. It's exactly what we envisioned, if not better. We now have automated blinds in our bay window that give us privacy while still letting in light, and they look so clean in person. They even upgraded us to a system without a visible battery pack, which made a big difference aesthetically. Truly some of the best in the industry. Friendly, efficient, and trustworthy. We chose blackout because of the bright lights across the street and Nicole guided us through all our different options, helping us pick a very pretty weave that blended the colors of our new furniture with the walls and the window trim. Had a great experience with Sunset Blinds and Shades. I manage a restaurant in the Valley and the sun beams very strong on our clients. We got motorized roller shades with Somfy motors. I am very happy with how the motor is quiet. They did a very professional job, very clean look. The warranty that they offer is great! The shade we're ready very fast, and as soon as they were ready, they scheduled the installation, and it took them to install the shades 30 min. I was fortunate to have Leah from the company visit me the same week I contacted them, and she really knew her stuff, picking out for us the perfect color for the shades to be installed in my office. I got roller blinds done for my kitchen counters, sliding panel tracks for my patio sliding door, blackout honeycomb shades behind my existing bedroom shutters, and new shutters for my remaining bedrooms. The window coverings look amazing. I included photos in my review, but it looks even better in person. Even my father, who is not impressed by anything, kept making comments about how nice it looks. I did get some lower quotes from other window covering providers, but I found my experience with Sam and Kara Window Coverings to be very much worth it, with much higher quality products than other providers. I appreciated how detailed Sam was in making the measurements, and he kept me updated every step of the way as the order was put in and shutters were being built. I also found his installer, Fred, to be very competent and pleasant to work with. There were a few things that happened after installation that made me respect Sam and his team even more. In one of the kitchen roller blinds, there was a tiny hole in it that bothered me, and Sam immediately replaced ordered new blinds and had Fred re-install them. A few months after install, the sliding panel track handle fell off, and within less than a day, Fred came over to fix it. Of course this is in addition to Kara Window Coverings carrying the highest quality window treatment products. When I changed my mind about a window treatment design after I had placed a formal order with Sam, Sam nonetheless was very flexible in allowing me to change the order and accommodate my request. On another project my timeline was slowed down considerably by my contractor, and Sam stored the products I had ordered from him for a couple of years without a peep of discontent. When a shade needed a minor adjustment years after installation Sam didn't hesitate to come back to my home himself and make the adjustment without charge, even though I offered to pay him for his time. You cannot make a wiser window treatment decision than to hire Sam. Sam has my business for the rest of my life!

Absolutely the best!…read more Their honesty also saved me so much for the repair of my 33 yr old living room vertical blinds that suddenly separated from the upper support bar. Initially I was advised on the phone by another highly rated company that my blinds were too old to repair and would have require a new set of blinds. This, of course, meant megabucks: e.g. $300 just for their service call(!), new blinds, and installation. I might be an octogenarian, but this sticker shock estimate definitely was a sign to keep Googling & phoning other companies. The Shade and Drape Depot responded immediately and advised me on the phone, based on their experience, that my blinds were absolutely repairable. Thanks to the repairman, Andrew, the repair simply required drilling my vertical blinds support beam back into the ceiling. No new blinds required, & the service call charge was considerably less than the competitor's ripoff price. Thanks so much to The Shade and Drape Depot for their honesty and fair prices!
