Milton did an amazing job the first time we hired him a couple of years back. This time around he took a big deposit and it's been almost 9 months now and he still has not gotten the job done. He rarely responds to any calls. A few weeks ago he did respond and promised to get the job done blaming the delay on the manufacturers. Fast forward to now, he stopped responding again. This might be the worse experience I've ever had on Yelp. I ordered 2 blinds from this vendor on April 8. I thought something was fishy when the order required a 70% deposit, but against my better judgement I went ahead with the order. I was told to give it 3 weeks to be safe. Here we stand on June 22 with no end in sight. Multiple promises of new dates have been blown through. Disappears for weeks at a time, no updates, no response to texts, all of which I have saved. Never answers or returns phone calls. Currently waiting on a response on a text for almost a full week after we blew through the fourth estimated delivery. Save yourself the trouble and order from a reputable vendor. Pretty sure I'll never get these blinds or my money returned. Milton was referred to me by a trustworthy friend who had a good outcome. My experience has been that of all his negative reviews. He took a huge deposit and much longer to install than date promised. Now, 6 months after installing I have an issue with a stuck blind. He is still unresponsive after multiple texts, phone calls and emails asking to repair it. His initial excuses were his mother was ill and he's a one man show. I own my own business and have an ill husband but am able to communicate promptly with my clients. Sadly I will need to find someone to help me repair my blind. I will do a better job searching for someone and it won't be Modern Blinds! It would be better if there were a zero star category. read more

If I could give this company a zero I would! I've never worked with a more unprofessional person in my life. I hired Milton to do blinds at my house and he came took measurements then gave us a quote. We liked the quote so we moved forward in the booking process.. he said the process would take 6-8 weeks after deposit was given but fast forward 4 months later (after my contacting him every few weeks for updates) he never once gave me an update himself by the way. He claimed the manufacturer mixed up the order he gave them with another order blah blah blah. He finally shows up to install said blinds. First issue is he decides to tell me when he arrives that 2 of the woven blinds I ordered were no longer available and Id have to choose something else which id have to wait additional time to receive. Then one of the blinds for my family came with the wrong lining which he has to take back and fix. Then last but not least he completely forgot to measure one of the windows in my master bedroom so one out of the five windows in my bedroom is missing a blind. He said that he'll make me one and bring it with the other one that was wrong. And then proceeded to blame my husband and I for not double checking the invoice and making sure it was on there. After all of the mistakes, we just wanted to get the project done so we contacted him to order the other blind and he has completely disappeared off the face of the planet. We've called and texted and he is not responding at all. My bedroom is unfinished and I have no idea what to do. Completely completely completely unprofessional. I wish I didn't have to write this, but I feel a responsibility to warn others. I gave Milton Sibrian at Modern Blinds a $1,225 deposit for motorized blinds, with the understanding that installation would happen in about six weeks. After that, communication became inconsistent. I was given repeated excuses about manufacturer delays, and eventually, I stopped getting any response at all. It's now been over 4 months. No blinds, no updates, and no returned messages. Most concerning: I recently saw another review from 8 days ago from someone going through the exact same situation. It seems like I'm not alone and that deposits may be getting taken with no intent or ability to deliver the product. Milton was wonderful to work with in the beginning, so I am very confused and concerned why I still have no order and am unable to reach him. I currently have a very large order that I placed, and he will not return any of my calls or messages. Based on all of the recent reviews, it seems like the same thing is happening to other people which is extremely upsetting and disappointing. He was very responsive and patient with me in the beginning, and then told me the order was delayed because of delays with one of the liners and said my order should be ready to be installed July 1. We placed our first order with Milton in early 2024 and everything went fine. Because of that, we trusted him and placed a second order in April 2024. That was a huge mistake. The second order was delayed for four months, and throughout that entire period, he was barely responsive. We had to call, text, and email over and over just to get one reply. And just like many other reviewers have mentioned, he kept blaming the manufacturer for the delay. But somehow, the manufacturer only "delays" his orders? Right. It's pretty clear he dropped the ball and just won't admit it. To make matters worse, one of the shades recently stopped working. I contacted him for advice or repair and even explained that the window faces the street, so going without a shade is extremely inconvenient. Two weeks later, still no response. Nothing. He came prepped with a nice suitcase full of samples to give ideas of the material and how much you can see through them. It was incredibly helpful to be able to hold up the samples to the wall and to my windows and visualize how they'd look. What really stuck out to me is Milton's professionalism. On his way over, he was extremely communicative with me when he hit some traffic. I never felt in doubt as he constantly kept me updated with his status. When he arrived, he was already all covered with foot covers and a mask which he says he will happily do for customers. In addition, Milton never spoke with any sense of pressuring me into a decision, and he was always extremely honest about his own opinion. He's a really genuine and hardworking young man, and you can tell that he is passionate about what he does. Once we went over the samples, he then went back to his office and shortly thereafter sent me quotes of a lot of different scenarios that I requested. From there we were able to make some adjustments, and then we put in the order. After the shades arrived, we scheduled a time for him to come out to install them. Milton did a great job installing the shades, and they look fantastic! His craftsmanship is great, and he was as communicative as ever for the installation and checking in with me that things were to my liking. Overall, I recommend Milton with full confidence. I cannot recommend Milton or Modern Blinds Company. Milton was very responsive and professional before I decided to hire his company to install blinds throughout my house; however, after sending him a 70% deposit, Milton became much harder to reach, despite his assurances that he would be in touch every few days. Due to the large size of my order, Milton expected installation would be about 6 weeks later. This was not the case. On two separate occasions, Milton provided reasons why he could not install the blinds due to manufacturing errors. After the second time, Milton mentioned that I could get a refund from the manufacturer, which I decided to take. It has now been over a month since I requested a refund. Milton has since confirmed that his account was credited with my refund, but I have yet to see any money back. Each week, Milton has promised to send me my full refund by the next week, only to come up with a different reason why he cannot send a refund until the following week (thus creating a cycle). It is disappointing to me that Milton has confirmed receiving the credit for my order and confirmed that he will provide me with a refund but will not return my money to me. To have to resort to writing this review after months of receiving no product or refund makes my experience with Modern Blinds Company feel like an expensive mistake that I hope others consider when deciding which company they will chose to order and install their window coverings. BE WARY Modern Blinds Company offers a better price than other companies, but good luck getting your product installed. In my opinion, Milton is not a reliable businessman, and I don't believe my job would ever have been completed. After paying a large deposit, it became increasingly difficult to reach Milton. I only heard back from him after calling the manufacturer directly who then reached out to Milton on my behalf. Milton said that the continual delays were due to multiple manufacturer errors (including faux wood blinds splintering when being cut to size), which put me back at square one with no product in production three months after placing my order. However, the manufacturer and other dealers who use this manufacturer let me know that the manufacturer was not in fact experiencing any delays or the issues that Milton had been telling me. At this point, I decided to cancel my order. This was over a month ago. Milton promised a full refund of the deposit as soon as the manufacturer credited his account, but when this happened, he did not provide a refund. Milton has now stated that he will provide a refund by this coming Thursday at the latest, so if this happens, I will regain some trust in Milton's business practices and update this post. read more
