I've been to B-Tan about 4 or 5 times now, and every single person I've met has been super sweet and helpful. I especially wanted to recognize Jamie, who has helped me twice. I was visiting family in Florida last week and, since the weather was either rainy or too hot to comfortably lay out in the sun, I decided to visit this tanning salon because it was conveniently located in the Tower Shops off University, just a short ride from where I was staying. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't what I had hoped for. When I walked in, the greeting felt very cold and transactional. Instead of a warm welcome, I was simply asked, "Hello, can I have your name?" I explained that I had never been there before and was interested in purchasing one or two tanning sessions while I was in town. When I asked which bed would be best based on the equipment I normally use back home during the winter, the employee seemed unsure and struggled to answer my questions confidently. I also asked about purchasing a lotion, and she immediately recommended one that was close to $100. I wasn't looking to spend that much for a couple of tanning sessions, so I asked if there were any more reasonably priced options. Again, she seemed uncertain when explaining the different lotions and their benefits. She may have been new, and I understand that employees are often encouraged to sell products and may earn commissions or incentives. However, the combination of feeling pressured to buy the most expensive lotion and the lack of confidence and product knowledge made me uncomfortable taking her recommendations. Rather than tanning there, I decided to drive a little farther to another salon, where I had a completely different experience. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and took the time to recommend products and equipment that fit my needs and budget without making me feel pressured. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I hope this feedback is helpful. A friendly first impression, strong product knowledge, and listening to what the customer is actually looking for can make all the difference. read more

Tuesday late afternoon i came in to tan and ask the girl about my account. I do not think she understood what I was asking her so I told her not to worry I would speak with Jamie. very rudely she told me I needed to speak to the manager or the owner. I told her that Jamie had been very helpful before and I would just speak to her. Again, she said "you need to speak to the owner or manager Jamie cannot help you". So bad...I honestly don't like posting negative reviews because I hate complaining, but I have to because this is location based. The B-Tanning by my house off 17th Street is 5 stars, but my experience at this location was COMPLETELY different. First of all, I had to wait for almost 5 minutes for anyone to even show up at the front desk. The lady slowly walked to the front already with an annoyed look on her face. She was so rude. She gave me no instructions on how to use the bed (sorry, I do sometimes need a refresher) and then didn't thank me upon leaving. I would strongly recommend making the drive to the 17th Street location. That location is 5 stars all the way! read more

My daughter went in and asked for 30 days of tanning. They signed her up for a monthly membership and now they refuse to cancel her membership. It auto renews. Apparently there was a way to have 30 days without a membership but they signed her up for a membership that has a two month minimum. Now they won't cancel it. Each employee tells her something different because they don't want to cancel her membership. She has called daily for two weeks, has not used the service after her initial 3 weeks and spoken to different employees, received different responses, employees are ignorant and RUDE. Absolutely DO NOT recommend. It's a scam business. They keep referencing a membership agreement that she never signed or received - she was totally mislead. They charged her for the highest membership and all she wanted was to tan for a couple weeks for an event. There should never be tears of frustration involved in dealing with a business. Ice joined up for a month-to-month basis and they 've been have been trying to charge my card for months that I didn't come and now when they took money out of my account I just thought it to start coming again and now they're telling me I have a balance of a bunch of different months that I never used. This is supposed to not be reoccurring that I every month I repay you don't charge me for something and when I'm not using it and now they're telling me I have a bounce and then the money they just took out they won't refund me bad business do not use this.
